Thanks, the latch assembly removal was the only part i couldn't figure out, didn’t want to force it. Found your first video first unfortunately. I just installed my new door latch, woohoo.
Gotcha. Sorry about that first video not having all the information.
I just saw another video installing a different handle. Sometimes the handles come in split up pieces. Including the inner pieces of the device that might be in the case of yours.
That’s probably why some of the handles fall down, because they got a different handle set than you do. Every kit is different.
Find a kit that already works for your door.

I have a silver half moon washer that I can’t figure out where it came from lol I believe one of the handles along side the black washer but it doesn’t look right on it. Do you recall seeing anything like that? It’s also bent (purposely) on the bottom of the half moon.
Hmmm, I’m sorry I didn’t notice anything like that. To me that sounds like it goes in between the door handle and the base. But not sure.
Good video, thanks! Fyi, those are all screws, there are no bolts there. Generally, a bolt is a fastener which is turned from outside the head, and a screw as a fastener with a central drive. In other words, you would use a crescent wrench on a bolt.. a crescent wrench 🔧 cannot be used on a screw.

the handle out and leave you locked inside.

This was a very informative video and I have had an issue with my Pella storm door latch not opening for a few years and would like to know what type of lubricant to use? Possibly WD-40?

Thanks for the video! Now i know i can easily replace this myself. Where did you get the lockbody? Im having a hard time finding it. The link you posted says its only the handle.

Could you please let me know what size the set screws are that hold the handles on ? Thanks in advance.
I researched pellas parts info and it’s telling me 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/8 hex/allen head set screws.
What size and type of screw held the handle to the spindle?
I’m really unsure. I can try to check on that for you.
@@LivinWith3M thanks. They recently went missing on my handle. I order some but unfortunately they were the wrong ones.
Mine fell in the door and is still there!
After installing, I know what happened now! The I removed the plate with screws and the rest of the unit fell down into the door. That's probably what is happening to others.
