when I was about 9 or 10 yrs old, my dad had bought the 45 and I played it non-stop, laughing my ass off, until mom yanked it off the record player and broke it in half. I can't quite remember, but I'm pretty sure dad caught more grief than me. I got in trouble later cuz I kept singing the song throughout the house. Haha. Good memories. i wonder what that 45 would be worth now. Thanks for posting! This made my day!
Sounds like we're the same age. I had the same dad (Pop) and he LOVED novelty records. I inherited his massive, bizarre collection and I regret nothing and explain even less. I just enjoy. Cheers, mate!
There was a pavilion at the lake where we used to go swimming and this song was on the jukebox. The teenagers played it incessantly and my parents were NOT amused.
My mother had the 45. If I recall correctly, Johnny B. Goode was why mom bought the record. I discovered My Ding A Ling on the back and memorized it. Mom tolerated it until I embarrassed her by singing it to the neighbor kids.
I was 3 yrs old in 1972 when it came out, but i was 7 yrs old first time i heard it.. i love it to this day... and ive tried to get all 4 of my kids to listen to it.. the minute they hear dingaling they rolls their eyes and walk away saying "Really Mom?" lol.. im like hell ya.. its classic!!! Thank you for this.. 😁😍🥰
When I seen him he walked off the stage part way threw his 2nd song because he was pissed because they showed him on the Jumbotron without his permission.
Imagine what would happen these days if an artist came out with something like this! Absolutely pure fun and joy would be cause for congressional hearings, hate tweeting and MTG would totally melt down.
Chuck Berry was one of the greatest entertainers ever. He could sing & his duck walk was known by all. One of his contemporarys was Fats Domino another Hall of Fame 60's icon.
One night 60 or 61 years ago my mother, sister and I were watching TV. Chuck Berry was a guest on some variety show, possibly The Ed Sullivan Show. I do not remember what song Chuck Berry performed but I was so amazed, so astonished and so impressed by his talent that as soon as he finished I looked at my mother and said, "When I grow up I want to be him." Many, MANY later to come rockers were very influenced by Chuck Berry.
Great reaction loved it. Chuck Berry knew how to make a crowd participate. Such a wonderful and historic piece of history this is. You have to love and appreciate Chuck Berry.❤️✌️🌼
This was a great classic, too funny. Heres another u may enjoy. Ray Stevens and Cledus T. Judd - The Streak Thanx so much for the laughs. Take care, Peace
Went to one of those RnR reunion(oldies) show before 1985. Ricky Nelson was in and and Chuck closed it.. and ROCKED DETOIT!!! Another Godfather of RnR, this was his ONLY #1 song
Besides being a great musician, Chuck Berry was a great entertainer. He loved his audiences and you can see that in every performer. And, we ALL knew this song!
Most of us who played rock guitar in the late 60's had to pass through the Chuck Berry portal, as we called it. In my humble opinion he was the real king of Rock and Roll.
This goes to show people will listen and like the strangest things. Chuck could get away with murder. Remember this w Was back when alot of things got censored. Your reaction is marvelous. I grew up with him. 73 now.
I remember when this song came out in England, I heard it once in the radio, the next thing I heard about it was, that it had been sensored and taken out of all the stores. But I can tell you, I never forgot this 🎶
Saw him in concert at the Rock and Roll Revival concert in DC around '73. A lot of performers at that concert, but Chuck Berry's energy on stage was phenomenal!
@adogg I am so glad you did this reaction video. It is a great, cute little song. It can interpreted in so many ways, but everytime I listen to it, it still makes me laugh decade's later. Thanks for doing this song. Love your reaction too ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The unedited version is twice as long. Chuck is only singing every other verse on here. I just recently heard the full length version myself and was laughing my ass off. What he doesn't sing here lets ya know he was not truly talking about a set of bells! Good Times indeed!
Chuck was a pioneering artist of rock and roll, you have to check his other hits, Maybelline, Roll Over Beethoven, Rock and Roll Music and Johnny B Goode. This was recorded by Chuck when he toured the UK and was the UK Xmas #1 in 1972 also #1 in the US, Canada and Ireland.
HOLY SHIT................ The reactions have been reversed for the first time........... When black people hear the Righteous Brothers they always think the fellas are black... I am 43 and have heard this song all my life and never knew it was a black man singing it hahahahhahaa... Life is awesome 😄❤
Great musician and was an icon in Rock. Hey Dogg I think it would be really cool to have a series of music of the top 10 songs from 1955 to the mid 70s or the top 5 we will see how rock and roll changed over the 20 years of the best era in music. Thank you for your channel I love your reaction to great music
The father of rock. Johnny B Goode. Maybelline. Memphis Tennessee. So many more iconic masterpieces. And the only one to ever reach #1 on the billboard is My Dingaling.
I’ve loved this since I was a kid😂😂😂😂 I’ve begged many a reaction channel to react to this. It’s so fun! Another funny song is Jim Stafford’s Wildwood Weed.
I meant to say many British rock bands name him as one of their main influences... hey ADogg check out Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels doing DEVIL WITH THE BLUE DRESS...
I gotta tell you, this DID play on the radio. Because, hon, I'm 59, and we dint have nothing but the radio, and vinyl, but we know the song, dear! Tell me it ain't funny. Tell me Chuck couldn't have been a comedian. The end is priceless.
I've been watching you for a long time @Da Real Adogg and I think this is one of the best reactions/songs yet. I remember this when I was a kid. Had me rolling every time.
Do hope any great British rock bands name Chuck Berry as one of their great influences! He was a rocker , even his duck walk while playing guitar has been copied many times, by one rocker in particular!
Hard to go wrong with Chick Berry Brudda, Johnny B. Goode & Sweet little 16, were massive big hits back in the day. Give them a spin Your choice, but Jonny B. Goode was more popular because of the movie Back to the Future. Both are Great Tunes.
A true performer!!! Given the age of this video, people were not as forward back in the day! the audience is trying to behave in public!! Imagine that!
It's a toss up between Chuck and Little Richard for the title of King of Rock N' Roll not Elvis. He was more of a balladeer. This is the only #1 song for Chuck. Jim
It figures he would do a song like this. He was arrested many times for various crimes, including trafficking a 14 year old female from Mexico into Missouri for 'immoral purposes.' And secretly filming women in the restroom of his restaurant. Also in the 50s for armed robbery. Also clobbering a woman in the face. I liked his music, but he had a difficult life.
Chuxk Berry isn't a comedian.... he's the Grandfather of Rock and Roll... you may not know it, but he is. And the verse "to those who will not sing" ? Whats sick is these young teenage girls are many that were videotaped in the restroom of his restaurant where he performed...so just imagine he just taped them and is now laughing and entertaining them just minutes a part....sick
So your going to justify his perversions because of his music ? If a Rapper did today what berry did back then over decades would you play his music and glorify him ? I would hope not. I remember my dad breaking every 45 he owned of berry's after the truths came out and he was exposed for what he was. As did most all tv stations.
CHUCK BERRY IS A FUNNY GUY GREAT MUSICIAN,SINGER, ENTERTAINING THE CROWD TAKES THAT GUITAR AND DOES THE DUCK WALK!!! HE IS PERFECT TO KICK OFF A DONALD J TRUMP RALLY 🙂🙂🙂
This is a great old song! Loved Chuck Berry back in the day!
Chuck Berry is one of the best music entertainers of all time. Check out his song Johnny B. Goode. It came out in 1958. The man was amazing.
He sure was.

This is hilarious 😂 Chuck has a great presence on stage and engages so well with audience. Such a great entertainer.
When I seen him he walked off the stage part way threw his 2nd song because he was pissed because they showed him on the Jumbotron without his permission.
I saw Chuck twice. The consummate entertainer.
Pioneer Chuck Barry, the Beatles, Stones and David Bowie had to meet him when they came to America. Such an icon!
Imagine what would happen these days if an artist came out with something like this! Absolutely pure fun and joy would be cause for congressional hearings, hate tweeting and MTG would totally melt down.
You never forget Chuck or this song!!

What a great year 1972 was, we used to stand around the bus circle in high school and sing this song 😂
My parents loved playing this song on the radio. My childhood was full of interesting musical influences.
Chuck Berry. What a entertainer!
My Mama loved this song!! She was hilarious singing it.
This is a fun song. When I first heard it I was a kid so really thought the "ding-a-ling" was actually a bell. 😄
This was a great classic, too funny. Heres another u may enjoy. Ray Stevens and Cledus T. Judd - The Streak Thanx so much for the laughs. Take care, Peace
Chuck was such a jokester and naughty too! 😂 He was desired by many women of different nationalities. A regular ladies man!!! ❤

My dad didnt allow us to sing this one. We did, anyway. And giggled. 😂😂
The true King of Rock N' Roll. Little Richard is also an acceptable answer.
He kept his audience in check....they loved it. Check out some Ray Stevens...Mississippi Squirrel Revival...you will really get a laugh. I promise.
Great work my brutha! Their is a shorter version of this video as well (edited down), but you went for the full version. Hell yeah Adogg!
My mom was old school. She hated hated this song. God rest her soul.

Chuck had a dream to also be a stand up comedian, and this number was created to satisfy his comedian urges too.
I didn’t know he was so funny!

Nope, not a comedian just a wonderfully humorous singer/musician.
I remember when this song first came out we all laughed and laughed thank you ❤❤❤
Love it!
Think on this, this song was performed before the Queen of England.
No, he wasn't a standup comedian. He was one of the first big rock and rollers.
Please react to:
Meatloaf - For Crying Out Loud (Greatest Love Song Ever)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Feel Lucky (Just fun)
I knew you’d love this one lmao 😅😂 I started laughing just thinking about you watching it 😂
Rotflmao I haven’t heard that since the 80’s thank you
You have to listen to Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode and you'll see he's no comedian, but a trend setting rock musician.
“Sweet Little Sixteen”...
❤️
A true performer!!! Given the age of this video, people were not as forward back in the day! the audience is trying to behave in public!! Imagine that!

The original was good also.
Go Rams!!
Wow☺☺😃
Chuck was pretty damn racy for the time that he came in.
Why not react to AINT SUPERSTITIOUS from Jeff Beck album with an unknown at the time Rod Stewart on vocals
🤣
Old folk aren’t as stuffy as you think
Whats sick is these young teenage girls are many that were videotaped in the restroom of his restaurant where he performed...so just imagine he just taped them and is now laughing and entertaining them just minutes a part....sick
