We LOVED this song back in the '70s! And only Chuck Berry could get away with it. You can tell how much he loved his audiences, and performing. There will never be another like him. ♥
This song came out when I was 7 -- I can now only imagine what my Mom thought as we drove in the car, this song on the radio, and me singing at the top of my lungs. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This song was so funny. Whenever it would come on the radio everyone would giggle and laugh. It was one of those fun songs of the 1970s that everyone loved.
In Middle School one day on the bus ride to school this song came on and are driver didn't change the radio station but turned it up instead. So all day at school when ever one of us from the bus ran into each other in the halls we would be singing this song lol
That's a new one I've never heard...my parents are of his generation (and Elvis') they have never thought that. They were more familiar with Chuck because his reputation preceded him. Of course with Elvis the intention was for you to think he was black, that was what they were searching for. A white singer that sounded black, and they found it in Elvis. Also back then many white groups would remake the songs by black singers (as did Elvis) and get more play than the black originator. Another thing they would do is, when they wanted to get more radio play for some of the black groups they would put flowers or colors on the cover of albums.
@@calme-dx2dp Elvis was not the same as that .. he remade songs in his own style - and black songwriters wrote FOR him .. the white cover bands you are referring to tried to copy the originals note for note.
@@calme-dx2dp That's BS, Elvis sang their songs on his platform so, their song's could be heard because the white Radio Stations wouldn't play black peoples music, he was the only one that that would bring it to white people through his platform!!!!!!

@Sharon Burcham Chuck was from St Louis Missouri. For the last 60 + years of his life, he lived in my hometown of Wentzville. I met him a few times over the years and he was a genuine gentleman. He did a song called Back to Wentzville that was covered by George Thorogood and George did it the best. However, Chuck did so much for rock music, I don't think it will ever be properly measured. Note: I just looked up the writing credits for Back to Wentzville and see that George actually wrote it. The song is definitely Chuck Berry influenced and in his style.

Chuck Berry is a legend. I met him in St Louis when I worked concert security. I was working backstage at a Paul McCartney concert and he stopped in to say hi. He couldn't let Paul come to his City without stopping in.
Probably the single most influential person in all rock and roll. He drove himself in his big Caddy to all his appearances, and only took cash from the promoters before he left with it in his briefcase, holding it in one hand and a pistol in the other. Then, don't get in his car path as he went away honking the horn. Want a thrill? Watch the film, 'Hail, Hail Rock and Roll.' 😉
It wasn't called Rock-N- Roll then, it was called Rockabilly, it became Rock-N-Roll when Elvis mixed the music together, called Rock-N-Roll! That's why Elvis is KING of rock -n-roll!
Mr. Video. Chuck Berry was the man who influenced so many artists. Now those people are part of the most sexually repressed generation ... ever. It’s so funny to see their faces singing. The women are so embarrassed. YOU are so funny singing along. Glad you are enjoying! Thank you!❤️
From the BBC's 'In Concert' series. Chuck is probably the first guitar hero in rock and roll and was also a very naughty boy - things like smuggling minors across state lines etc - but without him you don't have the sound to come. It's no accident this is from British TV - the song went to Number One in the charts here...
I remember when this came out. My mother would yell at us when this song came on because we would be sitting in the back of the station wagon giggling every time he said "My Ding-A Ling"
I've never seen this video. It is hilarious! I remember the song when I was little but found out after I was grown that he is actually singing about a real bell. That's why he was able to get the audience to sing along and got around the censors with it lol.
Chuck Berry is a monster on the guitar! He's just being playful here. He'll rock your face off with his other songs. (Oh, and by the way - a "fun fact" if you will - right now, about 14 billion miles away, traveling over 38 thousand miles per hour is a space probe that was launched in 1977. On that space probe is a gold record that has Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode on it. Go Johnny go.)
Chuck Berry is a legend; he spoke in so many innuendos when he was talking through this appearance. He is a great guitar player, one of a kind. He kinda act like he could be related to Snoop.

Hilarious! Love your reactions. Chuck is an amazing guitar player and considered one of the originators (if not THE originator) of Rock & Roll. I have heard he was miffed that this little ditty is one most white folks know him for. Please check out Johnny B. Goode if you have the time.
My wife doesn’t understand why I like watching Reaction videos. It fulfills the love of Sharing things you love with others. I have always needed to share things with others, but was always left alone. I remember as far back as trying to get my stepdad to watch Ali vs Sphinx on WWofSports on my 13” B&W tv...to no avail. His loss as he missed an epic upset.
My opinion, Chuck Berry's ability to integrate Country, Blues, Rockabilly is why Chuck Berry in the rankings of Rock and Roll greats will, other than Elvis, rank higher among the 11 original inductees into the Rock in Roll Hall of Fame, he was able to integrate more genres of Southern American music than anyone other than Elvis, who I think is the only person in 5 different Music HOF, Rock, Blues, Country, Gospel and Rockabilly. As I posted earlier, all of the original inductees in the Hall of Fame were in substance from the South. From Louisiana, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis, from Texas, Buddy Holly, from Mississippi, Elvis, Sam Cooke, from Georgia, Little Richard, James Brown, and Ray Charles, from Missouri, Chuck Berry, From Kentucky the two Everly Brothers. The fusion of all the Southern Music from Blues, R&B, Country, Blue Grass, Church Music in both the rural Protestant White and Black Churches created Rock and Roll. Obviously, 6 of the original 11 inductees were Black/African American so it is 100 accurate to say that without the contributions of Black Musicians, American Rock and Roll music does not become what it is. So again, with respect to Chuck Berry, his ability in this song to go country as you stated was in fact part of his genius. Fats Domino has that ability as well, he could link Blues, R&B and Country together as well just as Chuck did.
Chuck play's a MEAN guitar! Can't believe you've never heard him. My uncle taught me and my cousins this song and had us running around singing it in front of my grandma and momma. Drove em' nuts! 😆 (I know some people could take that as perverted but he's also the man that taught us bad jokes and how to cuss...its just how we did when the fam got together lol)
Oh, Mr. V, you were a winner from the instruction! We know you were paying attention! You have a great sense of humor. This is honestly a beloved song! Doncha worry bout it. At least you were singing!
Elvis was heard to say that he thought Chuck was the real king of R&R. Not only was there Chuck, there was BB King, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Louis, Fats Domino, and many more. I dont think it was as much a genre at that time as it was a movement...and they all had a part to play in it! Fyi, Chuck is who Michael J Fox was imitating in Back to the Future when he starts cuttin up playin guitar at the prom. He goes from that style into heavy metal. All the kids come to a stop and stare at him... When he finally notices, he says " Trust me, your kids are gonna love it!" and runs out. 😂😂

I was only 3yrs, old when this came out. But it's one of the songs, that still gets stuck in my head sometimes..lol
That’s amazing he had the audience singing the chorus in tune by themselves.
When Marty plays guitar in Back To The Future, the person the musician calls is Chuck Berry
I remember a lot of kids were singing my dingaling at recess, lunch and after school for quite awhile. It drove the teachers crazy lol.
Chuck Berry is part of the 1st group inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame...
I play this song on the float at Mardi Gras. We run a really loud system, so even the crowd is singing with us..
Drunk people are so much fun!
'Okay Chuck, let me get my ding a ling ready' ~ Mr. Video
Another great quote.
Cheers!
Out of all of the amazing songs Chuck Berry created, and there are A LOT of them, this was his only #1 hit.
If you like ac/dc this is the man who inspired them, this is Angus Young's favorite guitar player
Great choice lmao! We played this blasting on a parade float for our high school 😂😂
If you can believe it this song was included on a collection of kid's music that we had back in the early 80's.
Chuck is the real king. You can hear his influence for decades after.
It wasn't called Rock-N- Roll then, it was called Rockabilly, it became Rock-N-Roll when Elvis mixed the music together, called Rock-N-Roll! That's why Elvis is KING of rock -n-roll!
@@naomiwarner7117 Yeah he was great at covering other peoples music lol
Mr. Video. Chuck Berry was the man who influenced so many artists. Now those people are part of the most sexually repressed generation ... ever. It’s so funny to see their faces singing. The women are so embarrassed. YOU are so funny singing along. Glad you are enjoying! Thank you!❤️
This Brother kills me, he is hilarious - he just found he was singing the wrong part- You are for real - we love u in the UK🤣
Is Ding a ling a bad word??..........IT IS NOW! 😂😂👏👏👏
Chuck berry. The first god father of Rock n roll. What an incredible performer. Rest In Peace. You awesome rock n roll legend.
From the BBC's 'In Concert' series. Chuck is probably the first guitar hero in rock and roll and was also a very naughty boy - things like smuggling minors across state lines etc - but without him you don't have the sound to come. It's no accident this is from British TV - the song went to Number One in the charts here...
I have never seen someone so happy to participate in a song before..LOL
Chuck was a Rock n Roll pioneer, but of course it was his cousin Marvin's encounter with Marty McFly that started it all.
😂
I remember when this came out. My mother would yell at us when this song came on because we would be sitting in the back of the station wagon giggling every time he said "My Ding-A Ling"
This is pure entertainment, y'all...😍😍😍
I've never seen this video.
He kinda act like he could be related to Snoop.
great reaction as always I can't believe this is your first time seeing Chuck Berry the late great Mister Chuck Berry Lord have mercy he was as funny as they come I love this song I always have I'm so glad to see you react to it you have to check out his Johnny B Goode one of the best songs you ever did Maybelline he is exactly what you said a genius he is a genius I just loved him he just passed away just in 2017 he was 90 years old a true goat and a legend thank you for the reaction can't wait for the next one!!
Chuck berry... The man hailed as THE INVENTER of modern rock and roll. Yessir
Chuck is one of the most talented men in American music history
Chuck Berry is the true King of Rock N Roll...R.I.P. Be sure to check out Maybelline, Sweet Little Sixteen & Johnny B. Goode...Chuck pretty much wrote the Guitar Bible of rock n roll...
IMO Chuck Berry helped create Rock & Roll. He is a legend. I would love to see you react to more of his music. Seriously.
Chuck Berry one of the best entertainers of all time!
Sounds like Chuck says brilliant at 12:45. lol IT'S BRILLIANT!
This gave a whole new meaning to audience participation
That just made my day!!!!
Oh, Mr. V, you were a winner from the instruction! We know you were paying attention! You have a great sense of humor. This is honestly a beloved song! Doncha worry bout it. At least you were singing!
When I was little (in the '60's) my dad wouldn't let me listen to this song. Then I caught my parents listening to it!
😳
This is a song that's never left my mind all my years....lmao. Loved you're reaction!
When I was a kid I loved to sing along to this song !!! 😆🤣😅🤣😆😅🤣😆🤣😅😆
he is THE ORIGINAL rock guitar player. he was everybodys favorite way back.
We're all his ding a ling... In spirit! GOAT!
Chuck berry was the Sh*t back in the day. This doesn’t showcase his talent, you need to listen to his older stuff.
💯 Come on now, Mr. Host. Correct this and get Johnny B Good up (1957) Black and white and old film, but hit talent easily shines through; then work your way up, from there, please.
