    Wow! Greg, you could easily become a vocal and/or hand model. So nice! Love these videos! You're awesome!! You know what would be like, super fun? Set a can of Coors or some other really cheap beer on the table, just to see what comments you get. Then, the next, a Barbie doll. No explanation whatsover.

    I love that you're educating, promoting, and growing some of these older varieties. Neat stuff. Ty

    Thank you for sharing. We just purchased an Edranol and I’m thankful that you could describe the fruit, seed and peel.Can you give any information on the actual tree once it is mature. I was told that it would not become a big tree. I was also told that it would be unpredictable when harvest time really is. I live in the Southbay in San Diego California. The town is East Chula Vista, AKA Eastlake. Currently, the tree is in a 20 gallon container. We’re waiting to have some clarity before we choose the location in where to plant it. We also purchased a Hass. We know it will get big and has chosen the perfect location for it. Thank you for helping out. I did adventure to any information I could find on the Edranol. Including all the links that you shared on your site. Thank you.

      Hi Becky, I'll try to write a full profile and do a video profile of Edranol soon. It's not a small tree, but it is small for an avocado tree. It's smaller than Hass. Edranol also grows more upright compared to Hass. I'm harvesting my Edranol now, in April.

    Greg thanks for posting this video I just planted a Edronal in April. It bloomed but didn’t set anything. I’ve heard good things about this variety but there isn’t much information out there about it.

      Hi Ako, The most common pollenizer in Southern California is Zutano; others are Bacon, Fuerte, Ettinger, and Edranol.

      I don't know anyone who grows Esther commercially. Sir-Prize is grown commercially on a very small scale here in California.

    How does your Splash Pluot compare to the otheres and how long did it take to fruit?

    • @gregalderdotcom
      @gregalderdotcom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Splash produced as quickly as the others, in its second year. I like Splash for its unique color (orange) and its flavor, which has a nice tang at first but gets very sweet if you let it hang on the tree longer. Splash isn't as big as Dapple Dandy, but I like smaller fruit so I don't mind.
