I’m so incredibly proud to say I’m Canadian when I see the First Nations jingle dancers beaming in front of the cameras 🥰 Jingle Dresses/Dances may not be a solely Canadian thing, but it’s hard to ignore the significance of the local dances and songs. The dresses are such a beautiful staple of pride, expression, and heritage. Thank you for this!! ᑭᓇᓈᐢᑯᒥᑎᐣ 💕🇨🇦

I’m here to see some designs that match my dream. In my dream, I was dancing in the arbour by myself and no one was watching me except for the spirits who have passed on.

Thank you so much. I'm sending to all of you love, peace, joy, harmony and an abundance of all good things. Remember that, no matter what's been happening in the past, we're all connected through the Universe. Please, receive my endless blessings from the bottom of my heart and from the core of my true being. May your jingles bring this world together in its purest form of love, devotion, and respect for one another...To thy divine you, I bow...~Namaste~.

Thanks to the google homepage I found this; how colorful, how beautiful, how inspirational to see such proud people celebrating their rich culture! Plus I knew absolutely nothing about the jingle dress, never heard of it - best thing I’ve learned today 😌 That there’s so many thumbs down is so very sad - will we (or some of us) remain “afraid” or against that which we simply don’t know for the next 100 years? 200?? Life would be dark and empty without humanity’s variation - it’s to be treasured.

Such beautiful dresses! Never let our culture and heritage diminish, but let it be passed down to all our future generations. It seems that all focus is put on every other people but those who were here on this land first before any of the others came. Everyone is important, but please do not forget the Native American. The tribes stretch from one end of the Americas to the other. We cover a vast area. Our history is rich. It is sad that our ancestors were called savages. I have felt very sad these few days since I watched "Into the West", which covers in great detail the terrible wrongs done to the Lakota people. I knew of the wrongs that were done, and of many others that were committed in the past, but this miniseries really hit me hard. Sorry, just had to speak my peace on this. My heart hurts for the suffering they went through. God bless them all for enduring these atrocities with dignity.

@gulfsurfco You can add almost 100 more at this point 😕 I try to remain hopeful that many thumbs downs are accidental - but it’s doubtful

When did these dresses come into tradition? I see a lot of metal on there. I wasn't aware that any people in North America had discovered metallurgy?

I think I prefer that a little better than the burqa or niqab.
