And also cool tip , i forgot to tell. For first side reflection , you can place the mirror to check out where the sounds reflects first.You just move the mirror and when you see speakers on them on yourr left and right side , thats the good place for placing the side bass traps.Of course , dont keep the mirrors xD
How do you "tune" your livingroom without turning it into something that looks like a failed modern art show?. I have a 6x8 meter livingroom with a pair of Dali 6006 floorspeakers on the wide side, and i find the base strong in the corners and the brilliance of the sound is drowned by the clutter.
I have Foam and blankets (Not moving blankets or cheap foam) but I'm about to move and going to redo my room which one should i use for the big areas what would work best do you think?
djsnw i am in the same situation.i have a gik acoustics monster bass trap.its mounted right above the seating in my room.its literally right behind my head,and it does a good job.
OK, enough door jokes. If your door is in the back wall, for example, where mine is, can you not mount a trap or a diffuser on it? If you have windows only on one of the side walls, as I have, should you put panels in front of them when listening? If you can't afford the whole lot, should you just start with corner bass traps and/or deal with your first reflections?
Hello fellow members ive been facing a major problem that im unable to find the bass in my listening position. The moment i hit the back row the bass is 10x tighter the lower frequencies are audible aswell as felt but the moment i move in the front row, while standing the bass is audible and fine but the moment i sit in my perfect triangular position the bass is gone. I tried different speaker positions aswell as distances but the problem remains. If im facing bass nulling how to direct bass a bit forward? If i need bass traps how exactly will they help? Attaching a small video of my room if im doing anything wrong please guide me. Room dimensions are roughly 20ft hy 16ft Thanking in advance
in my room i have a problem that no bass is coming out of my speakers , its big speakers, 8 inch woofer , Truth b2031A ,you can look it up , why do i need a bass trap when i dont even have bass . cuz studio monitor base is very flat and low , its made like that cuz when bass is up you cant here mids and highs all that good , so will i have benefit with base traps , i need 200euros for them at least so its an issue
What are the corner grey panels made of? You say this will cost no more than $500, how much does each of the pannels cost? Can you send me a link? Thank you.

I would suggest building a "wall within a wall". It's an expensive solution, but it will work best in an apartment. Do it once, do it right and you'll never have to worry about it again. Just Google it for more info. Good luck!
What about a sloped ceiling/roof? Do I place my monitors on the short end of the slope or on the long end? Would a "cloud" parallel to the group benefit me? Thanks :D
Dont make bass traps in any way , you will probably kill the freq which is not problematic one , so you need to make them carefully. Also one cool tip. If you have money and big room , you can make even angeled bass traps so the wave is absopbed + it is not getting reflected.
No bass trapping is designed to decrease nulls, peaks and decay times (low end reverb) within a room. What you are talking about is soundproofing which can only happen with very thick and solid walls/floors/ceiling. FYI the term sound proofing foam is a internet myth, created to sell unwitting people who don't really understanding what sound proofing really is.

A real bass trap has to be 1/4 the length of the frequency you need to absorb which is usually 70-80 feet long. Those are not bass traps, and if they are Helmholtz resonators they need to be tuned to the frequency they are to absorb. Those foam or rock wool "traps" wouldn't absorb 4db of bass if they were much larger. But that information won't sell your products. It's like people who sell you Roxsul to sound proof, you need high mass and limpness for sound proofing. Your "Monster bass traps made me laugh out loud. There is a sucker born every 30 seconds.
There seems to be a door missing, windows should also be covered in this video as they are prevalent in normal household rooms as well.

higher corners is not enough for basstraps ? we have to cover all corner from bottom to the top ?

It really depends on which products you end up using but over all it can cost as low as $500 or so to get started.
