"Rad Racer features the player controlling a Ferrari 328 against 8 different car models. The player has the option of choosing an F1 racing car, but cannot play with any of the oponent cars. This hack was made to allow the player to drive the first oponent car, the VW Beetle. Although the sprite used is based on the original VW Beetle sprite, changes were made to make it resemble the 60’s model instead of the 70’s present in game. The color scheeme stays the same as the Ferrari. It also replaces the Ferrari in the car selection screen and the one in the ending cutscene. No changes were made to the gameplay."

Imagine if someone edited the car to the Ferrari Testarossa from Out Run, and maybe the music to Magical Sound Shower.

Sprite hack isnt difficult to make these days. Music is more difficult, but not impossible.
This would still be only audio visual experience, because this game has segmented runs, while in Outrun you have branching patchs, and in game transition into Next area.
What could work better like that is Lotus Turbo Challenge. It also has segmented courses
To be fair, I thought about making an Out Run edition too, but that would be just the car sprite, I lack the knowledge for changing music and gameplay.
@@chirinea Nowadays there are a lot of tools to help you out with a hack like that.
For a first hack doing a sprite work isnt bad. It would still be a bit of work mind you!
Wooowwww a mi si me gustaba ese juego, lo jugué mucho de niño en mi casa que tenía una nes.
Cómo dato curiosos, si pulsas la palanca hacia abajo, se activa una música, y si la presionas varias veces cambia a 3 tipos de sonido diferente.
Y si presionas hacia arriba aceleras más el auto
If I wanted to race as a classic VW Beetle, I'd want it to be *Yellow* (for... _reasons_ ).
Otherwise, I'd prefer to race in this game with the *Lamborghini Countach* (in Orange or Red) or a *1969 Dodge Charger R/T* (naturally in Orange).

Queria muito um Haack que permitisse Acionar as Músicas no botão Select, porque no Direcional atrapalha. Fora isso é um dos melhores jogos de corrida do NES.

Le faltó la música la muchos circuitos para que fuese un game play perfecto 😢
Me encanta la idea de tener la opción de jugarlo con un Volkswagen rojo, pues tenía uno cuando era niño y le tenía mucho cariño, así que si ya de por sí me gusta jugar de vez en cuando este juego, aún con más cariño lo haría en esta versión
