      "They are using climate change" - and who is "they" if I may ask...?
      And since when has scientists all over the world, from competing economies and from government paid universities, as well as privately funded universities, NGO,s etc been a part of "them"...?
      If anyone is doing anything to divide people, it's the idiots who keep denying what science tells us!

      The only conspiracy theorists are those claiming there is a _denial conspiracy_ secretly funded by billionaires and oil companies. In fact the funding is so secret they can find no evidence of it, and even use that as proof that it's "dark money." The climate skeptics don't claim conspiracy. They instead attribute acquiescence to self interest and political agenda. Just look at the green NGOs, who take in billions of dollars a year selling climate fear. They aren't going to let that cash cow die regardless of the evidence.

    Before people start blaming people as a whole, realize that humans have existed on the Earth for thousands of years without significantly impacting the environment until the past two centuries on the onset of mass industrialization and agriculture. So do not say humans are a cancer that do not deserve the Earth, but the problem is how we are living the modern life.
    Human society is living with the highest standards in history, but the modern life comes with costs. Consumerism with one use products such as wrappers and boxes for the products some people take granted for creates a lot of trash. The electricity we use for all our mechanical processes are mostly created by burning fossil fuels (Renewable Energy such as solar can only do so much. . .). The Cars and computer that you use to live your modern life were created by factories that emit greenhouse gases and require the mining of resources that shift the surface.
    Here is the hard truth. Consumerism and the modern life is a great life, but that comes with clear costs. If you truly want to save the Earth, then understand that the human race as a whole must sacrifice many of its wants and desires and basically live with *less* in order to leave a smaller environmental impact. Until people figure out a way to somehow collect and recycle all the waste created by constant buying, spending, and throwing away of our trash, this is the only realistic option if we want to protect the planet in the long run.

      @biggus6633 7 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      Ryan Luong
      You do realize early humans lived in small groups and never before in Earths history has there ever been this many humans alive. Also it's not just about the litter. It's also the pollution going to the air and water that's damaging the environment. The problem is there is a high demand of things for a high population and they want it for cheap! Businesses have no other choice but to commit such atrocities. Like what they do to animals in the meat industry and its effects on the environment. Or like the poisoning of water and soils with excessive herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers in agriculture. And that's only mentioning our food system. That's the problem. There's too many people in this world and few that can actually supply that population. People need to have less of everything and do their best to shop local. Might be more expensive but knowing something is made with a goal of sustainability and personal responsibility with a fair practice, it's well worth it.

    • @ryanluong3320
      @ryanluong3320 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Big Gus I already mentioned that it wasn't until the past 2 centuries that humans started to significantly affect the environment, and that the burning of fossil fuels to manufacture products and produce energy is creating greenhouse gases. I do not need to be corrected with something that I already covered.

    • @ryanluong3320
      @ryanluong3320 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Big Gus What you have contributed is mentioning the increased growth of the human population that will surely demand more food and more consumer products that will lead to more waste, which is an excellent addition.

    What people don’t understand is that although there is a correlation between temperature and climate, just because it doesn’t feel like summer everyday doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Climate is global or regional, it’s different than weather. Weather could change every day. Climate cannot. Moreover, for those who argue that we’ve experienced climate change in the past, that is correct, but compare the levels of CO2 and the rate of climate change with that of the previously stated.

But the climate will still change. Thank God. If the climate hadn't changed we would still be living in the stone age. Why don't you seal yourself in a temperature controlled box, and those of us outside will apply our ingenuity and adaptability to survive. Like the clever ones always have. What was it that happened to Canute? Oh yes, the cnut died :)

      EXPLAIN THAT and still stay fashionable. Climate change is a complete HOAX. We live on a planet that revolves around a very hot Sun there are othe planets that interact with earth through magnetic fields and these change due to these planets position relative to us which isn't constant.

    • @PRYVTgomerPYLE

      +Quinn Rogers
      It is a relate-able topic my man... There is no effective way of getting rid of nuclear waste. It is like building a mansion, filling it full of people and forgetting build the toilet! It is a hazard to human life, much like climate change. Do you not see the hurricanes hitting the USA right now? This is only the beginning. Both nuclear waste and climate change are going to effect this planet forever!!!
      BTW you act like it (nuclear power) is a safe method of generating power, which is total bullshit! Look at Chernobyl or Japan's nuclear disaster. Then compare that to wind mills, steam generated, water current generated or solar power... Buddy, it is no contest. -_-

    I'm not saying that CO2 emissions do not affect the climate temperature, but why do I feel like people do not look at other factors? Why do we automatically assume that CO2 is the only factor? Can it be that CO2 might just be one of the hundreds of factors that causes climate change such as the sea, sun, earth rotation, etc., and that we actually don't really know how much humans contribute to climate change? Furthermore, it would be impossible to figure out what our spending of trillions of dollars, not driving cars, flying airplanes, etc., would accomplish in 20 years. I'm open to having my mind changed, but I don't see it as very reasonable and proportional to sacrifice my freedoms for something that we don't even know if it will make any difference - for a problem that we don't really know why it came to be.

    Human activity is one of the causes of climate change, this is evidenced by the greenhouse effect gases originated by the smoke of factories. Over the years, this environmental issue has increased, for that reason today we can see the horrible consequences. We can see these in our ocean, in the weather, in our food sources and in our health. For me, the biggest consequence is in the weather because the high temperatures caused by climate change generated the thawing of ice, leaving many animals without their natural habits. Also, the high temperatures affect in our skin when we have direct contact with sun, and in our food/ healthy because growing crops becomes more difficult. Is a sad reality but if we care about the planet, we can do the change.

    One evening, while living in the Rio Grande Valley and helping my father cover his citrus trees to help protect them against a freeze predicted for later that night, I found myself hoping and praying for heavy overcast to replace the current clear skies. We’d never heard of the greenhouse effect at that time, but we knew that a blanket of clouds (water vapor) would slow down the escape of Earth’s heat.
    My dad had already flooded the ground around the trees and prepped his smudge pots to be lit at the appropriate moment (for the blanketing effect of carbon laden air).
    As the thermometer continued to slowly but surely drop, we nervously sat listening to the reports on the radio. Then, just as temperatures neared freezing, a bank of clouds moved in over the region and the rate of temperature decrease slowed and stopped at 30 degrees (F.). An hour later, the sun peeked over the horizon and very slowly the temperature began to rise. Damage to the fruit and trees was avoided without having lit the smudge pots.
    My point is that even though some people may not believe in the greenhouse effect, they’re almost certainly not citrus growers.
