    Just be careful with thin glass vials - they will explode with pressure.

    I love this technique!
    Except when the vial is pressurized to prevent diversion. I found that out the hard way.

    You’re awesome.
    Is there anyway you could show the proper way to use draw while using a shield? I work in a radiation facility. We get work through shields all the time but everyone is always so busy to help with proper technique.

    I think we’re talking more about pulling from the bottom of a vial, small amount of meds, etc. My meds have 2 tiny vials/mo w/small mg so there’s no way to get the meds into the shot without pulling air, turn vial upside down and making sure the needle is barely inserted into the vial cap so that it’s drawing the liquid, not the air, allow the liquid to flow into the needle THEN OBVIOUSLY we are going to look at the shot and make sure the med is at proper level, then we get rid of any excess air from the shot! Surely we all know that the plunger has to be level with the correct med amount! We’re not going to have med, the rest of it filled with air and inject! NO!
    You put the air in the beginning because it is a placeholder within the vial and will push the med out. Regardless of anything, no one should ever inject air into their body! If someone tells you that, I would NOT do it!
    This method still gives me trouble if after inserting proper amt of air into vial and turning it upside down so it can properly flow…I don’t get the very tip of the needle covered under the upside down meds & accidentally let the tip stick out too much through the meds, touching air! You have to make sure when you turn it upside down you DONT take it out of the vial but before you start anything you make sure to carefully pull the syringe/needle back so it’s covered by liquid the whole time and then it should disperse the exact amount of liquid med that you filled with air

    That's a good "tip" but as somebody else already said... That glass vial is gonna explode at some point

    • @emberholden4848
      @emberholden4848 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      the only way it would explode is if you opened a brand new vial and it was filled to the brim with insulin.

    I think, this is not a proper, the atmospheric air may contain microbes / anything leads to contamination

      Not when you leave the cap on the syringe. And good luck drawing anything out of the vile w/o doing this.
      I’ve been doing this for a while and no issues.

    • @abi1021
      @abi1021 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it should lol. I just did tuis this morning and it is the first step of the process. You then flick the syringe and push the air out before injecting into your body.
