Much respect from Baltimore. We just started to heat the hot tub back up to 102F as the weather FINALLY cooled off and now I am back to soaking 2 times a day
Hey Scott, this is Tony from Idaho. We spoke a couple of weeks ago about my Tuff Spa. I have a no heat issue. Recirc pump works. I have 240 volts going to the element and disconnected the element wires and checked resistance on the 4 kw element. It has around 2.5 k ohms. I then connected everything back up and checked the amps. I believe the 4 kw element should draw around 20 amps but my meter only read 0.178 amps. Is this enough information to conclude that the element is bad and needs to be replaced? Thanks!
Great video. I've done all of my own work on my 2015 J345 over the years. Currently my tub is tripping the 60 breaker. When i reset it powers up...the second the red heat led lights the breaker trips. Likely a new element is needed?
i did a similar repair a few months ago on my J-325...luckily I didn't break any fittings but i pretty much did it like you did and didn't lose more than 12 ounces of water
Congratulations on your channel, I am a fan of your videos, you are a professional and excellent instructor. I have a HotSpring Jetseeter. When I turn on the jets I hear repeated clicks on the relays. I left the jets on for about 5 to 10 minutes and they stopped working, I checked the voltage (120v) and it was fine, the next step I did was unplug the pump and check if it was working and really if it is ok... I wonder if this is a problem with the relay board or the main board.... I hope for your help
Great video! I was wondering about the old clear hoses and was worried about getting them off. Heat gun is the solution! Question, do you have to drain the hot tub before doing the heater replacement?
Jacuzzi J365 that is leaking from the heater area, a victim of freezing weather. What is there that can be effected by freezing temperatures? The weather is suppose to be better next week so will be able to work in it but I really need to know what to look for before I order a whole new heater. Thanks. Your video was fantastic!
I would call Scott. There are several factors that come into play when dealing with a hot tub that is leaking. Like does the heat work or not work is it full of water or is it empty with very little water in the lines. All of these thing has a different effects on what the path to getting it fixed will be.. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING
Ahoy Scott, J-365 model jacuzzi. Breaker started tripping. After disconnecting the power to the heater, I found that’s what it is. Just replaced the heater, but the breaker is still kicking. I found now that it seems to be the circulation pump. Once I unhooked the power from it, breaker stops tripping. But when the electric is hooked back up to it, the breaker trips as soon as the circulation pump kicks on. I just replaced that circulation pump a year ago though.
I did not see a way to contact you with a question. I have been trying to solve a watchdog error on my Sundance Chelsea 780 series spa. The last time it happened following start up I noticed that the flow valve was extremely hot (150 f). Determined with a digital heat sensor (gun). The water was only 96 f. I'm assuming that the temp of the flow valve is what caused the watchdog error. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
If you are not moving water through the heater were the sensors are located and the water around the heater is heating up you may receive a false reading... the cir pump should come on the min the breaker is turned on pushing water past the heater then flow switch and back into the tub if it is all working properly then I would mov on to the sensors in the tub to make sure they are working also if all that checks out then most likely you have a software issue and the board would need to be replaced. Hope this Helped Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING
This morning my spa was off. Checked the breaker and it was off too. Turned it on and got a FL2 code. I changed the filters 2 days ago, so I guessed there was an air lock. No biggie. Checked the circulation pump and it was running well. Turned on pump #1 and code disappeared. As soon as I tried to increase the temp from 101 to 103, I heard a spark noise and the spa turned off. I opened the control panel and found a trace of carbon around the heater connectors and the circuit board. I suspect I need to change the heater, but I wonder if the circuit board could have been damaged because of the short circuit. Any idea?
Hey Scott Miracles of miracles. Looked last night Jacuzzi temp up to 101 degs. Same this am so I guess it fixed itself But I'll keep your how to in mind Thanks Karl
Hi! I have a jacuzzi j series, Fl 1 message showing…replaced sensor flow, pump 1 , heat sensor, circuit board, did the hose on the filter..new filter.. fl1 still showing and pump 1 wont start..help!! Please 😩
@@spaman5440 Are you positive? I've slowed the video down, and it looks like it is a 1/8 MPT x 5/16 In. It's really hard to see in the video. Will either work?
Thanks so much for making this video. We were able to change out the heater and are now back in business!!

It’s cool to see you make mistakes and keep them in the video!

Another great video. I have a Sundance and was wondering where the heater is .... Now I know... Thanks
Hey Scott Great video I probably could do this myself. Still would be good if you know of someone in San Diego that could do it Thanks Karl
Wish I could help with that... Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

What was the size of the brass piece?

Pretty sure you meant a nylon fitting not teflon.
To any DIYers out there, tractor supply has a good selection of those nylon fitting/barbs.

What size brass fitting did you use? Also, what size diameter was the clear piece of hose you replacrd? Thanks!
The brass fitting was a 1/4 by 3/8 and the hose was a 1/2 inch
