    I would like to understand why Allen & Heath build a huge console with just 6 stereo aux outputs (12 aux). Why can't we use one XLR Aux out as a single stereo monitor output for in ear stereo monitor for exemple?

    • @seanychenav
      @seanychenav  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If we're using analog signal, one XLR connector cannot feed a stereo signal; just mono. You need 2 XLR connectors to feed the left and right channels of a stereo signal. If you get the DX012 expander box, it provides 8 XLR outputs that can be configured as AES (digital), and each XLR connector sending AES signal is a stereo signal, if your in ear monitor has AES input.

    hello ,I have SQ 6 AND 24 INPUT AND 12 OUT stage box ,,,I want more outs so I wanna buy a another stage box.,,but I will hove only 12 AUX OUTS in my console ,,, how to increase the out in console ..????

    • @seanychenav
      @seanychenav  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have the AR 2412 stage box? If so, you can expand by plugging another stage box to the Expander port of the AR 2412. It should show up as another set of outputs and inputs. Or if you want to add only outputs, you can get a DX012, which has 12 outputs but no inputs. I think the AR-2412 only runs on 48 kHz mode, so you may need to force 48 kHz mode for all the I/O's including the new box you're adding.

      @@seanychenav but I can handle only 12 outs from my console..so if I add a another stage box how will I be able to control those outs???

    • @seanychenav
      @seanychenav  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rubensandesh8042 You're right. The SQ console only has 12 Aux mix select buttons on the right. While you can technically have up to 32 total outputs using DX protocol, the physical console surface only allows you to manually select and control 12 output mixes. The additional output mixes can be controlled by external control units such as the ME-500, ME-1.

      @@seanychenav ah okay .. that was really helpful .. Thank you so much

    • @seanychenav
      @seanychenav  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rubensandesh8042 oh I forgot something. If you have 26 output connections/channels, and assign all output mixes as stereo mixes, then you have 13 stereo output mixes, which are controlled by the main stereo mix and 12 aux mix select buttons of SQ console.

    Can you label the AUX outs? - when you have a number of folds/iems it's easier to give a name than a number

    • @seanychenav
      @seanychenav  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The aux out LCD labels are in Layer D of the main fader section, not at the output select buttons at the right side of the console. I typically apply traditional labels next to the output select buttons.

    • @seanychenav

      You can assign these 10 microphones to any of the 3 Aux outputs.

    Ok, I’m confused. If you don’t change these to stereo the the iem’s can only hear a mono mix? What about the SQ4You app? If the mix is sent to the iem’s in mono can’t the musicians just pan things into stereo themselves? I guess I just don’t get why it would be defaulted to mono when most mixes are mixed in stereo. Maybe I’m completely misinterpreting this function. Can someone make it make sense to me?
    I think it would help the context of these tutorials if you gave examples of why you would want each function (mono or stereo).

      Monkey Hunter, I understand the haas effect, at least from a mixing engineer’s perspective. I’m not really sure what it has to do with panning things for headphone/iem mixes. It would just sound more spacious and more like an album with all the panning, unless there’s something I’m missing.

      I am so sorry for not getting to this question for 7 months... Mono output mix is typically used for stage monitor speakers, lobby ceiling speakers,... equipment with mono deployment; Stereo output mix is typically for in-ear-monitors that take stereo inputs by default. True, some more advanced IEMs can take 2 mono signals and "mix" them, but the result is not "stereo" per se, "blended mono".

    This is not thought out right that’s completely stupid why can’t it just have a ink indicator like the x 32 and auto route it
