- On my South Park deep dive experience I've seen some dark humor not for snowflakes wouldn't survive in 2023 stuff. I've seen the absolute worst of eric cartman and all the drama to get south park cancelled. butters got it way worse than i could have even imagined.

Dr. Phil had a guy who ran actual bum fights for money on his show, but the guy showed up dressed as Dr. Phil and then claimed they did the same thing.

I am willing to bet that that wasn’t the original intent but the moment the guy showed up to the set dressed as Dr Phil they changed the script since it was clear they couldn’t bully him.

Biggest irony regarding Butters, at least in my opinion, is that in the Stick of Truth video game, he is by far the most powerful supporting character. Dude is an absolute monster.

At some point, you notice Butters goes from 100% nice and innocent to still somewhat clueless and with some remaining innocence, but also has a lot of times where he is now mysognistic, selfish and cynical. A result of his abuse, and only then after he started acting like that, were people around him starting to accept him and treat him better.

butters kinda became more evil in some more recent episodes, and tbh I like that he did the entire boys rebellion and even his latest professor chaos thing, as he's been so traumatized that he deserves a villain arch ngl
What's worse about the ninja star one is that the vets were going to euthanize him and the other kids switched him with a perfectly healthy poochie only to euthanize that one since they're already going to do so anyway.
LMAO I had forgotten about that part. God, It's hard to pitch South Park to someone who's never watched it.

100% agree with the Dr Phil take. it's a modern 'freak show'. not helping anyone, just exploiting them for entertainment. Feel the same about Jerry Springer, Jeremy Kyle, and all of the other shows following that formula. Never understood how anyone would want to air their private issues on live TV like that.
For REAL. The success of Springer back then really changed media, for the worse. That whole... sensationalizing people's trauma, exploiting those blinded by the momentary fame and finding ways to aggravate their problems... It worked though. Ratings were through the roof and people got addicted to that endorphin high of feeling better than those on screen. It really started to shift daytime television and audiences towards more nonsense like Dr Phil, and the final evolution being all the drama filled reality tv we see now.
Nux as someone who has watched every episode and the movies and specials, you haven't even seen the worst of it and it's hilarious 😂😂

Their was a whole episode in Hell and a lot of devote, Muslims, Jews and Christians all went to hell and the Greeter to Hell informed all of them that unfortunately they followed the wrong religion and Mormons were correct
Unless he's Mormon, he was gonna end up there anyways. Michael, when they killed Kenny because he was the only one that could help Heaven defeat the armies of Hell, tells Kenny that usually they only take in Mormons, but they had to make an exception for him.

@pigmasters3263 true for a show that goes on for 26 seasons it really wasn't that hard to get through since there isn't really a dry orange boring season besides maybe season 2 and even season 20 which is considered to be the worst season in the show is still pretty entertaining to watch

Nux a general rule of South Park is. Whenever You think it is bad it can and did get worse with what they do or say. The ability to cancel anyone who likes it or finds it funny will always be insane

Butters is my favorite character. Seeing him stand up to his grandmother was cathartic as hell.

That this take about Dr. Phil is controversial at all rly beffles me. There is a reason why therapie is something u do in private and the therapist isn't allowed to tell anyone about what is said.

Yeah Dr. Phil's show can range from legitimately helpful to straight up societal damage. Its insane. Worst part is, the more terrible an episode is, the more entertaining it is. It goes from Talk Show to Freak Show real fast and its real fucked up.
South park out of context leaves so much negative interpretation excluding the overall common sense people have inside and outside the show. So many missed references like Jared from subway excluded from 8 and the censored trauma in 7, the vindaloop in 3, he couldn't take number 2 or take 2 weeks detention. Butters has the worst parents and friends in the show by far
