Awesome collection dude!!!! Thanks for sharing
Camilo Velandia thanks brother!
Great rundown.
thanks!
Great collection! Since there will be no tour this year maybe you can do a video about what a usual day consists of when you are on the winter tour? Funny stories?
Wow. Not ashamed to say i would be intimidated by all those chairs.
Shout out to Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse. It's worth traveling there to see the collection upstairs. Wow! Thanks for the video Angus!
I’ve been upstairs, it’s awesome
Great rundown of everything. I’m always amazed at how much goes into playing a guitar through an amp. Lol.
lesterperkins1 thanks man! Its a big stage so it takes a bit of work to make something that would otherwise be simple work.
Angus Clark I totally understand. We’ve seen TSO for over 10 yrs straight and the entire mix is incredible. Y’all definitely have it dialed in right.
You should do vlogs!!
You do some crazy bends using 11s, can you crush iron with those hands?
Wow, nice rundown! What’s the range on your Ed4q? I have a simple Glxd6 that I can’t seem to get passed 100 feet. Thanks from Orlando!
Enter Bandman thanks for watching! I routinely make it to the very last row of the arena!
I think in the last rundown you said you were using a Friedman HBE patch. Still using that same patch? I saw the show in St Paul MN and the tone was really awesome!
Dave Dobson Hi Dave, it’s still the same amp model, we just keep tweaking the settings. I’m hoping to do a vid about it.
@@AngusClarkGTR Please, that would be awesome to see the details including any boost or overdrive you might be using with the amp model, cabinet, etc. Thanks!
@@AngusClarkGTR , please do. I just picked up rhythm duties for a TSO tribute, and have been playing around with my FA FX-III. I went right to the Friedman HBE preset, but looking for all of the little subtleties. Thanks!
@@DarkSideTribute I'm trying to find the time!
What cab speakers does / did TSO use back when amps/cabs were used in the TSO shows? I have a Marshall DSL with Seventy80's and they aren't great. I may consider a Greenback over a Vintage 30, or possibly a mix of them. What's your speaker of choice for your cabs?
Hi, I was using an EVH III, Al was using a combination of Marshall JVM’s, Line6/Bogner heads, and an old Rocktrin Prophecy preamp (Into a stereo power amp). We were both using the Randall ISO cabs with a variety of speakers. Primarily Vintage 30’s and Lead 80’s.
@@AngusClarkGTR I can't thank you enough for replying! I've read some sites on the internet (so it must be true) that Al used G12T-75 speakers. Is there any truth to this? There seems to be mixed feelings on G12T-75 often comparing them to the Seventy-80's which are like ice picks. Basically I'm suffering from a lack of mids and I think the speakers are at fault.
@@TheNecronOverlord The Celestion Vintage 30 is everyone’s primary go-to for Marshall tones. I wouldn’t dispute that. I think I had a V30 in my ISO. I have a pair here at the house in a mojotone cab and I like them. Have you checked out Kristian Kohle or Johann Segeborn on youtube? They both do speaker shootouts. For days. Like crazy in depth stuff - be sure to use real speakers or headphones when you watch.
I have the regular 75’s in my 1922 cab. I haven’t mic’d it up in a while so I don’t know for sure what my opinion on them is. I don’t remember the Lead 80 being that bright, but I don’t have them in anything.
@@AngusClarkGTR I've been fortunate enough to try both a pair of the Vintage 30s and a pair of the 25W Heritage Greenbacks in my 2x12 cab (both speaker types are 75Hz). I prefer the Greenbacks for two reasons, 1) they have more of a vintage tone for the music style I play and 2) the Vintage 30s were ridiculously loud in comparison. I'm playing through a 1987x modified to vintage specs so its output has been dropped to a measured 38W. Seriously, the Vintage 30s were almost twice as loud but much tighter too.
+1 to Johan Segeborn, he is an Engineer by trade and brings his evaluation methods to compare all manner of amplifiers and speakers.
@@hkguitar1984 have you watched my “the plexi is a harsh mistress” vid. Its all about my 1987x
No sustainers?
No, I could never get used to those.
