    I had a family member who was a first lieutenant navigator on a B 29 in the Pacific. This is what he heard many times. I am sure before he was shot down on a bombing run to Japan two months before the end of the war this is probably what he and his crewmates were listening to prior to being shot down Just two months before the end of the war with Japan he was 25 years old

    I wonder how these flight crews ever made it through their missions without falling asleep! Now that's true DISCIPLINE! God bless them and I thank all of them for their service! 🇺🇸👍

      I'd imagine the sheer fear helped along with enemy fighters and flak. They weren't called the greatest generation for nothing. Took Iron will to do what they did. Thanks for listening 😀

      Glad you like it! It's from another b29 video I did. I had a request from one of my subscribers that like that video but didn't like the radio chatter I had incorporated into that soundtrack. So I edited out the radio chatter, just leaving the sound of the b29s engines. That way, they get to enjoy and fall asleep to the track they like without the bits they didn't like.

      Flying back to Pacific Island airbases after accomplishing missions, they actually would take turns napping. But only when out of danger of course (late in the war).

      Did you start the video from the beginning? Ads are shown at the beginning and end of these videos, not in the middle. If you start watching towards the end and the video ends then an ad will play. TH-cam shows ads on videos regardless of monetization. The only way to avoid this is with a paid sub through TH-cam.

      TH-cam shows commercials at the beginning and at the end of videos. They will show commercials regardless. The only control content creators have over commercials is where they are placed in the videos. The only way to avoid commercials is to become a paid subscriber to TH-cam. Thanks for listening!

      I'm not really sure. I do know there's a download option underneath each video, but I've never tried it. Ask in TH-cam's help section or google it, i'm sure there are a few ways. Heck, probably a video on TH-cam showing you how as well. I'd start there. Thanks for listening! 😀

      B17 audio is authentic and was recorded from an old military video I found. The B29 is synthetic, though I do have some authentic B29 audio coming out in an upcoming video.

    How long is the loop and how may layers do you offset please?

    • @BlackAtomProductions
      @BlackAtomProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      All depends on the audio sample. For most mechanical ambiances, say, just an engine running, you only need a few seconds but I try to get as long a sampling as possible. I don't offset tracks like these but I do ambient music because it helps to smooth those tracks together better. With tracks like these, featuring sounds and not music, i just clip the audio and then I try to make sure the point where the tracks come together match. If the amplitudes are offset they can make a "snap" sound. It's usually inaudible but I try to eliminate it because I dislike artifacts like that in the audio. If I can get the audio lines to line up I will, if not I try to make sure that both ends where the tracks come together are at 0 amplitude. A great place to find audio like this of a good length is a site called freesound. Another good free site is pixabay, they have a sound effects section. If you want more professional audio that is extremely affordable, "Pond 5" is a great option. Hope this helps.

      The earliest video games had amazing storehouses of .wav sounds. I used to scroll down through them, laughing out at some of them.
      The .50 cal guns sound of the P47 and the default bomb blast in combat flight simulator one always cracked me up.
