    What zone do you live in ? I have to winter over inside in my zone 3 ,that is the more hybrids. Thank you ! So beautiful!

      Hello! We are just a few miles north of New York City, in Zone 7A. Couple of false starts to the spring here, and now it's 90 degrees 😅 - pretty unpredictable but we've had luck with these guys so far

    Now you said the hydrangea is bigger than your head. Would it be possible to do a side by side comparison? Your garden is absolutely gorgeous 🪴🌷🌼🌚🌺🌹🌷

      Maybe his head got shrunk by a witch doctor. Don’t judge.

    Lovely Hydrangea plants there. I've grown cuttings for Hydrangea, Hebe, Buddleia, Spirea & Lavender. Most of these are on my channel header and I made a new Hebe video which shows these cuttings on their journey into big shrubs/plants. Happy Growing :)

      Thanks for watching! In the winter, mixed coffee grounds into the soil every two weeks (when the ground wasn’t frozen). To make different shades, used a lot of grounds in some and less in others. 🌸🌼🍄

    I have always killed hydrangeas.
    My friend gave me a tiny plant that was given to her because she was killing it.
    I planted it, it was literally a twig for 3 years and this year it got huge and got a bunch of pink blooms! I am scared to look at it because it might die! How do you have so many? Alive?!? I'd love to plant as many as you have!!! Please give me tips 🙏

      Congratulations on your blooms! That is awesome, and whatever you are doing must be working! We are planning to do a video early in the season, before they bloom, to document what we have been doing . Right now everything is dormant - it's freezing out here! - but will start preparing for the spring soon.

    Were these all gift hydrangeas that you stuck in the ground?

    • @thesugarcube
      @thesugarcube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! It's a half and half - some were already here when we moved in, and many were added later, replanted gifts and Easter flowers.

      @@thesugarcube They look so good. There are things online saying how gift hydrangeas perform poorly in the garden. You have proven that wrong. Your hydrangeas look as beautiful as any I have ever seen.

      @@ericclimbs6340 Thank you so much! I would definitely give it a try - the hydrangeas in front of our hedges were planted from potted Easter flowers in desperation because the existing front hedges died, and we figured we'd give it a try (especially when we saw the price of replacement hedges!) Those hydrangeas have come in fuller every year since.
      The garden on the left side when you face the house was all heather when we moved in and we wanted to add some (ok, a lot of!) color, and the hydrangeas there have also thrived.
