If you can afford the rifle you can afford a simple rest. You might as well be shooting offhand. With handloads that cartridge can serve from the lightest of 45/70 ) loads with virtually no recoil, to full house magnum loads. A good DGR type scope with good eye relief will add greatly to your shooting, despite some of the "experts" commenting here! How do I know? I own one. Leupold VXIII 1.5X5 on it and my .416 Rigby CZ550. Wouldn't have them any other way.
Nice gun mate, I have a super express - nothing wrong with the calibre as you say, I have Lott also but prefer the win, just because the Lott is so heavily built for the recoil. Gratings from South Afrika. Put a nice 1-6x 28 scope on it or a good red dot.

This is it for dangerous game, unless you want to go to a double rifle. So, you are all set, sir. No scope needed. Dangerous game is shot at 50 yards or less.
Oh, brother, you do NOT want a scope on that gun! I used to have a CZ550 in 375 H&H, and I fitted a really nice scope on it before I ever shot it with the iron sights. When I squeezed off my first round, the scope felt like it drove my eyeball to the back of my head! I can't imagine the kind of brain damage a scope can do on a gun like that!
Maybe you should learn to shoot! I have scopes on both my CZ550 Magnum in .416 Rigby and my Model 70 in .458 Win. Never came close to scope contact. Ever.
If you shoulder the rifle properly and you won't get bit. I only shoot .458wm with a scope never been bit. The right scope and scope placement makes the difference. leupold M8 30+ yeas never lost zero.

So do the ejectors on the Rem 700 in 416 Remington magnum. If you want a 416 Rem magnum get a Winchester Model 70. Look up desert dog Outdoors.

I've got a cz550 in 375 and have a typical 3-9x40 on it... no issues at all
