Thanks so much! I am really grateful for your channel. I had no idea that there were so many interesting varieties of compounds that both performed vital protective functions and caused all the gorgeous colors that we see in the lichens around us.
Again, a great presentation. Thank you Vanda. I have been doing research on melanin pigment production for about 8 years. I have many internationally indexed articles on this subject. I am very happy about the increasing interest in melanin pigment in the scientific world. I can collaborate on studies and articles with researchers who want to conduct research on melanin. Love to everyone.
Hi! Thank you! I also like melanin:) I worked on melanin of Aspergillus fumigatus during my PhD project. I found out that mycovirus regulates the expression of melanin precursor genes. Very cool! In general, I think that melanin is a higly potent compound for many fields of our lives. 🍄
@@vandavision I would love to read your article. Melanins have the potential to be used in many different fields such as pharmacology, medicine, cosmetics and energy storage. You can reach my articles on melanin by typing Sinan BAYRAM in Google Scholar (articles after 2020). Hope to see you. Kind regards
That was really cool! I know you were specifically highlighting pigments that are characteristic of lichens, but I was still surprised by how little overlap there is with the basidomycete mushroom pigments I'm more familiar with. Now I know why I always see that color of lichen at high altitude :)
Great video! Thanks for sharing❤
Thanks for watching! 🍄🍄
