I bought this flashlight about one year ago for about $56. I’ve used it in the factory default mode it came in. Great flashlight. I give it five stars..6000 lumens is nice. But now they have a similar one out with even more lumens. But, once again, very happy with this one.
I disagree with the comment on the click button. Mine is solid and I never mis-clicked. The feedback on the click is solid. I agree with everything else. The ability to sustain at high lumen is important.
Excellent review! Among my flashlights also several Sofirns. I love them all. Both the SP36 and the C8F are my all time favorites. The beampattern is excellent. Far better than some of my much more pricy lights.
Exactly! They pay more for sometimes much less. I can buy 3 sofirn flashlights for the same price point of a single Olight flashlight. We aren't fooled by the belief that paying more means better quality. More options means more can go wrong 👍🏼 less is more.
Prepared Guy and what Olight has a ramping function? Or NarsilM or Anduril for that matter? Ok, Olight has nice little lights to show the batterystatus and the mode you are in. The batterystatus is not so important when you reload after every heavy use. And there are all kind of products to check the status. When you are in the field and you have to check your battery then you did not prepare well. And Sofirn shows the essential status: green indicator, good to go, orange indicator, caution, red indicator, no go. And the mode is very simple to check, just look at the beam... No, this SP36 is about $50. A compearable Olight is much, much more expensive.
Dude, great video! Very professional and informative. I subscribed and gave your vid a thumbs up. Thnx, best regards, Dante ps, best vid out there on this light
Thx man... I still dont know what sofirn to get. Been looking at the sp33 and this one.. but it seems this one is more bang for the buck. Going to watch your other reviews
@@PreparedGuy Thanks man, actually its for use in travels, me and my girl go to diferent places and to the beach a lot, i need a light for this type of situation, on the beach a walk with the dog and such, my LD10 with AA just doesnt have the runtimr i like.. i like neutral white, more thrower and range 😋
@@PreparedGuy But just to you know, the SP36 is sold already in my country for 500 bucks... With the 3 batteries, an SP33 is 300 on the kit, i'm thinking the SP36 is maybe the best for me, since i dont have any batteries yet, i'm new to the flashlight game, i'm ready for batteries now, lol.
@@blakebauman6374 Yes, i might go with the sp36 when the time comes, i might buy it directly from any website, since is half the price they are sold around here, the only problem is, it takes a long time to arrive, i like the kit that cames with 3 batteries because i can use them with others too.
I own many Sofirn lights & I like them, especially the value BUT I am generally disappointed b/c beam shots on videos look twice as bright as what you receive. Furthermore the beam is often sloppy & the color is usually not bright white. Just a word to the wise.
Most flashlight channels don't set up their cameras properly in Manual mode, they tend to over adjust the exposure making the beam shots looks twice as bright as they actually are. I adjust my exposure to exactly what I can see with the naked eye. It's the best way to film beam shots. I own several Sofirn lights as well, they're excellent for the money. 👍🏼😎🔦
🔦💯👍🏻 it was definitely confusing but full disclosure I just couldn't make the video too long and explaining all the setting would have made the video at least 15 minutes longer than it was. Ain't nobody got time for that 😂😂😂👍🏻 you know how it is. Most people just want beam shots anyways 💯 what's your favorite thrower? I'm looking for a beast that won't be too expensive.
The SP36 PRO I recd today is another disappointment from Sofrin! Advertised as 6500K (cops use this color b/c it's the most revealing, U know, what a flashlight is for. I got 4500K! Focus is just splatter like most all Sofirns as well. It's bright but being a yellow light, it doesn't seem 8000 lumens. Sofirn quality is v. good & they care about one's contentment so maybe they'll refund me. Hope so. I've got to find a company that gives me top quality & value like Sofirn but w/ some organization to their floods with full spectrum color (bright white) light! MANY flashaholics say they own many or all Sofrins like me. Now I'm thinking it's b/c I almost get a great flashlight & try again b/c there's always something that makes me want it to be better. This time it was wrong: yellowish 4500k is NOT bright white 6500k ! PS: AliExpress said total $43 something with disc codes - no btrys, but to my surprise they charged $47.99 to my card! I advise buy direct from Sofirn off Ebay etc. Hope this helps. THANK U. UPDATE: Those leds create a diff color than I've seen from say Cree. It's a thick white. You'll probably like it. I'm a v. white 6, to 6,500 K brilliant white monger. Leds only get their whitest when they're pushed the hardest. The Pro is small & puts out a deceptively big bunch of light. One has to understand what it's doing to appreciate it. That shouldn't be necc. & it's too fat for my hands. Currently I'm studying Astrolux. But w/o actually owning these lights, (these vids are never good enough) We're giving too much money to China.
Sp36 pro sst40 only come in 6500k and 5000k that you can choose.. there no 4000k.. maybe you get the older sp36 that use samsung led, that one has 4000k version.. i have the older sp36 that using 5700k xpl2 led and it seem well balance between throw and flood.. the sp36 pro may not throw as far as the older model because sst40 led size is bigger than xpl and samsung so the beam will not focused and will not throw better as the older version.. and sst40 is not made by cree, it made by luminus, i have several light using sst40 and the 6500k version tint shift between low and high mode is really obvious, it look greenish at lower mode and im not like that also.. but the 5000k sst40 seems more stable and less tint shift.. i like my older xpl sofirn sp36 better than my stremlight stinger.. try bring out the real 5000k led and 6500k and use and compare it both at outdoor or in the woods and you will hate the 6500k effect.. it made all the tree and grass look grey and pale.

I absolutely love the lightning mode and strobes on this thing it's worth the money just for audril and they have 2.0 on them now !
If you only can keep one, would it be the 5k or 4k version?
Random question can you bring the sp36 in carryon baggage or it needs to be in the check in baggage

This light costs only 46USD on AliExpress.
There is also "Sofirn SP36 Anduril" which has a nicer 5000K tint and different firmware.
Is the Andruil a more neutral or cool white light?
@@Xtreme_Airgun_Slugs You can choose 4000K or 5000K. They are both neutral.
Excellent review. Sofirn makes some of the best budget lights. Pretty impressive beam on it

What do you need it for? regular edc? Get home bag, bug out bag? Etc. Maybe I can lend some advice 👍🏻💯😎

This is SP33 with double the light output. SP33 is smaller and cheaper.

Meh, AliExpress handles the payment. Just from this I can tell your statement credibility is at best … meh. I wouldn’t trust you.
