I used to loop the Western AF version of this song on loop! LOL. Thou it's Doores performing it solo, and he says that a friend of his thought he was dead, and when the friend saw him riding a bike, he tackled him, and that made Doores reflect on life and write this song.

It's good to see an official release, so i can loop it without the talk on the beginning of the video, where Doores explain about the song. Also, the performance was released during the hiatus.
