I’m trying to tell my mom I don’t want a perm because I hate how my hair looks, and she doesn’t agree with me saying it’s ugly and nappy, so what should I do
I fucked up and put a perm in my hair because my parents have naturally straight hair (dad) and 3c curls (mom) lol I have 4b possibly 4c and used to be so ashamed but Idek why anymore. It’s so pretty to me and I miss it so much. I love how strong and resilient it was and that I could do so many styles and at the end of the day it would just spring back to shape 😩💕 I’m Afro latina so I get told I have bad hair a lot. My parents have grown to love my natural hair and stopped pushing for perms so now I just have to learn how to accept and love myself. I hope everyone can find that same love and acceptance 💕
This is gorgeous, I think its amazing that your journey took only 1 year. Mine took two years but your hair is beautiful and this is definitely an inspiration for those still struggling through their journey.
Mines took only one year also . I flat ironed my hair two days ago for the first time to see how long my hair was and I was so shocked and happy and I hardly moisturize my hair , I just wash it and get it braided
Nola Hill I know . When I first started to transition I had no patience at all. But after a month or so I had lots of patience. I barley wear my hair out because of different textures all over the place . So I usually do twist outs and other protective styles and they have helped a lot.
This is my 3rd time transitioning and the struggle in trying to go natural! It’s not the process, but my mom stopped me from going natural the first two times because my hair didn’t look nice aka no longer “presentable” and I listened to her. Last year because of the panoramic I was afraid to be out in these streets so I didn’t get my 2nd relaxer for 2020 and my hair was thriving! It’s been a year and 3 months since my last relaxer and I don’t plan on going back to using one. I never wanted one in the first place and I was 14 when I had gotten my first one.
Hi. Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I transitioned for 13 months then couldn't take it anymore. My twist outs ( with perm rods at the end) looked horrible and didn't last. I usually would just keep it twisted till wash day... thank goodness for quarantine😷. After growing out about 4-5 inches, I chopped the remaining 4-5 inches. And now I am loving it... even though it is much shorter than I planned to wear it. But my curls are poppin and I'm lovin it... so much so that I might keep it short or go even shorter. I figure I can't go wrong now... long or short, now that it's all natural. Good luck to everybody still in the struggle... it's real but results are so worth it. So Be patient.
I’m currently going through long term transition and these are really helpful steps and advise for me so thanks 😁💯 I’ve been transitioning since January this year and seeing curls in my hair gets me so excited 😆😝
My curls have fought to come back and I just now noticed it and I cut off the dead ends immediately! As soon as I did that I put a defying curl gel in my hair and there it was. I’m 11 and I already have heat damage because of my mom and seeing this really helps I’ve been natural for over a month now on Monday it’ll be 2 months
I started transitioning July 2017 and after three months i started getting some curls again and my hair looked really nice. Then i straightened my hair for a special event and it KILLED my hair. All my right curly hairs that were repairing all turned loose and straight and thin. I was devastated and hated myself so bad. I then started dying my hair again cuz i just didn’t know what to do. But i haven’t straightened my hair since that incident. So i have trimmed my hair but my hair honestly just feels and looks way worse than i originally had it when i was straightening it like every two weeks (before transitioning). I honestly have been so depressed cuz my hair just looks awful to me. I just feel like my hair was born to not grow :( i don’t know what to do anymore
Your hair is so beautiful I dnt understand whats wrong with my hair. I’ve been natural all my life but I was actually a healthy natural since about 2013. My hair fails to grow past right under my collarbone. Idk why it grows so slow. Like almost person who transitions, one year later they have mid back length I dnt understand. Also I dnt use heat and I barely wear braids and weave so idk what’s going on with my hair growth. Ik MY hair grows slow but everyone in my family has fast growing hair sooo

Yoooo you’re gorgeous 😍 but I automatically subscribe not even half way in the video, I’m actually big chopping my hair in the morning and I’m sooo ready for healthy hair and you’re video gave me confidence, motivation, and knowledge! ❤️❤️❤️
I decided that I was gonna start transitioning a couple weeks ago, because my roots in the middle of my head feel like they have a curl pattern, and I’ve never really used heat on my hair but I’ve been getting perms since I was little. It’s been hard so far because I have thick hair already, and I don’t have lots of products. I’ve got a lot of damage (practically all of my hair and my edges) but I hope to do the big chop some day. For now I’m just gonna start trimming off dead hair 😊
I did the big chop yesterday by myself as a dare from my friends and mom doesnt know and i dont plan on telling her anytime soon. But anyway i used to hate my curly hair now im in the process of fixing my damaged hair and its going well! I dont flatiron it anymore. My 3c 4a hair was down to my butt when i was 8 and now im 13 and befoee i chopped it, it was a lil past my shoulders now that its cut and super healthy, silky, and moisturize, its right above my shoulders and so bouncy and shiny!😂
Can you send me your protein treatment information that you put in your hair once a month. I just started my journey since the quarantine. So two months now. I did put heat on my hair once because my roots were so hard but have since put them away. Now I just have the hearing cap out for when I deep condition or roller set my hair. Also, how often did you wash your hair while transitioning. I saw one video that. said to do it weekly. Do you have a video with just doing a co-wash?
I texturized my hair back in October 2018 and I just recently texturized in April. I have decided that I want to go back natural because I don’t want to keep getting texturized. I started my texturized hair because I was really tender headed but now I want to grow out my hair for about 2-3 years but probably not that long because my hair grows fast but I just want to go back to my 4b hair.
❤Yass very good content I do hope you continue to do these natural hair vids! N you shud consider starting a girl talk ...That would also b really nice❤😩
Great review I will be subscribing to your channel....I just cut my hair off last night and I appreciate your information!!!! Oh and by the way your hair is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!
I was natural all the way until 5th grade I begged my mama for a relaxer because people use to stick pencils in my pig tails and laugh because they would get stuck...and my hair got long around the middle of my back but it wasn’t until 8 I feel in love with natural hair as of now I’m 10 months half natural(still have my relaxed ends🤕) I have been doing protective styles and as soon as I hit the year mark I and going to big chop I am 15 btw ❤️❤️❤️
ahh thank you for posting this, im trying to go natural but i didn't know where to start lol. could you also post ur hair routine? im loving these videos!!
Your hair is beautiful, hun! I'm really trying to be consistent but the twist out/braid outs are SOOOOOOO time-consuming. Do you ever get to a point you just shake and go? Or will you have to continue to twist out?
Thank you sis. I’m Just now starting my journey. I was working with my hair stylist. Got the permed straight ends slowly worked out and used protective styles as we conditioned but then Covid happened and I haven’t been back ( respiratory issues keep me sheltered). I’ve been wearing it in a pony or braids or just out. But I’m not ready hit the public. I have no idea what I’m doing or what to do next. 😭
I've been transitioning, but I have a lot of damage at the top from when I flat ironed my leave outs ALL THE TIME from sewins . my edges starting falling out &I my hair is so short now . I don't do anything to my hair but braid it & put a wig on. when I wash my hair it dries up and instantly gets hard and brittle . I have no clue what to do with it. I cry sometimes because I'm so disappointed in my hair. I need HELP !!!
One day I told my mom not to perm my hair anymore because I found out it's bad and it worked I have done research on my hair and now I know how to take care of it
How often do you wash your hair. I just washed, deep conditioned, and braided it to put under a wig. How long should I leave it braided until I wash again? I'm starting my transition today 2/2/2020
I’m 14 and I used to get my hair straightened every few months for about a year, then one day I decided to get a chemical treatment to staighten my hair (i think it’s supposed to last longer ) but a month after I did that I realised a semi big patch of my hair started to fall out, luckily it stopped after I decided to get box braids. Then a few weeks after that it grew back to my natural hair state (as the rest of my hair was heat damaged). So to this day I have half natural hair which is not not long unless when stretched whereas on the other side of my head I have worn out straightend hair which is longer than the natural side of my head. I also did cornrows in my hair a week ago but the straightend hair appears longer and less thicker. How do I get rid of this? Thnx in advance 😩😚
I transitioned for 2 years, it was personally one of the toughest things I had to do! I actually just did my "Big Chop", you can check it out on my channel 😁❤️
I am currently transitioning and my hair grows pretty quickly cause the thing about me is that even though I've had a perm for a while my mom doesn't use heat in my hair so it's not really that damaged (other than the permed ends)
Samuel Lwanyaga so am I it is gonna be a longgggg couples of years unless I big chop. I’ll come back to this video once it’s been a year 7 months post relaxer right now.
I know the feeling. they simply cannot comprehend and don’t care to but if your friends laugh at you over something you think is important get rid of them
I haven’t used heat in 6 months & ive already got a lot of new growth but I’ve still got those straight ends! i just really need something to help hair growth now!
I’m sooo happy and when I tell you sooo happy this happen I mean it!!! So my mom put a relaxer in my hair and it burned some of my head not too big but it burned it and it got infected so my mom called the company and they are paying for everything that happen but my mom told me she is never putting a perm, relaxer or heat in my head ever again!!! So I’m finally gonna see my natural curls after this video
Transitioning as well. Haven’t had a perm in like two years🤷🏽♀️ have gotten a lot of new growth, my natural hair is up to my shoulders, but I do not leave it out. I wear a lot of weaves, mostly braids, but I never do it tight. I’m just afraid to cut the straight hair off😭😭
Im transitioning now and i always keep my protective styles in for about a month or two but my favorite protective style are weaves and wigs is that a bad thing? I think it might take longer for me to see results because with my busy life it's kinda hard for me to keep with protein treatments, deep condition, loc methods & wash days. What advice do you have for me?
Very helpful I started like 2 months ago and detangling after washing is very hard and my mom makes me use the blow dryer I keep telling her I shouldn’t but other than that it’s going well😆
Just wanted to ask ... Can I transition with relaxed hair ....like will I be able to revert to natural without the big chop ..just askin coz i genuinely don't know
Love your hair. I’m contemplating going natural, but very scared. I’m older, my hair is on the thin side and without a relaxer it is nappy. It seems like a lot of people that go natural have hair that is already on the curly side and this seems to make the transition easier.
Hello. Im just now starting my natural journey as of yesterday. I know i have a ways to go but i just need a little advice on what to do as far as a hot oil treatment. Are they good to do and how often? Also i have dye on ny ends also. Should i just cut it off? ( i dont mind lol) Bottom line, my hair is severely damaged from perms, dye, and heat and i need help.

thank you! i’m definitely going to try out some of these tips! your hair looks amazing!
❤Yass very good content
I do hope you continue to do these natural hair vids!
N you shud consider starting a girl talk ...That would also b really nice❤😩

Lmaoo! I'm literally sitting here with my limpy heat damaged ends and that intro spoke to me like you heard me

Great review I will be subscribing to your channel....I just cut my hair off last night and I appreciate your information!!!! Oh and by the way your hair is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!
This is my favorite video its very inspiring I'm taking care of my hair more and I have no damage tyy
Aurore Geneus Ofcourse
Hey!!! So I would love to ask after you do your twist outs, braids and all that do you comb out your hair? (the curls do they come off when you do?)
I’m now transitioning . My hair is just like yours , when I wash it it goes curly then straight . I get so frustrated.
Omg I’m finna go natural because I’m NOT trynna be a bald headed lil girl in college next year 😩😂
Your hair is beautiful, hun! I'm really trying to be consistent but the twist out/braid outs are SOOOOOOO time-consuming. Do you ever get to a point you just shake and go? Or will you have to continue to twist out?
Thank you sis. I’m
Just now starting my journey. 😭
I'm trying to get my hair just like yours but I do like straighting my hair to see how long it is but I'm working on it. Love the video tho❤
One day I told my mom not to perm my hair anymore because I found out it's bad and it worked I have done research on my hair and now I know how to take care of it
yessss your hair tutorials are on point
I'm going natural! I am going to let my hair grow out, then I will cut the straight ends off. I'm so happy!
Before your transition, were you just flat ironing your hair or was it permed as well?
I am currently transitioning and my hair grows pretty quickly cause the thing about me is that even though I've had a perm for a while my mom doesn't use heat in my hair so it's not really that damaged (other than the permed ends)
I'm 11 and I'm going natural but it's a long process

Samuel Lwanyaga so am I it is gonna be a longgggg couples of years unless I big chop. I’ll come back to this video once it’s been a year 7 months post relaxer right now.
Transformation to Natural was not east, but watch my live video to find out my success!!!
I refuse to do the big chop but my hair is straight and curly do you guys have any styles?
Im 12 rn 😡
Beautiful hair! Question, did you start with relaxed hair? Was it just colored?
Did you cut off any of your heat damage? I’m so tempted on cutting the straightness at the ends of my twist-out 😫
I felt so alone while going through this journey because all my white friends would just laugh when I ever mentioned it
shak yusuf drop em and drag em
I know the feeling. they simply cannot comprehend and don’t care to but if your friends laugh at you over something you think is important get rid of them
This helped me alotttt I’m transitioning and you really inspired me to do it 💕💯
I haven’t used heat in 6 months & ive already got a lot of new growth but I’ve still got those straight ends! i just really need something to help hair growth now!
I’m just afraid to cut the straight hair off😭😭
So informative! Thank you so much and I love your hair and voice ❤️😍.. well said thank you!!
I'm here for that Alan Walker in the background! Thank you for the great tips 😎
