I one this is a older video but I want to say thanks. I am learning allot from you and the Facebook group. I am in the process of trying to build a dry age chamber of my own from a fridge the wife got me for free in Craigslist. But an in real need of a temperature and humidity controller, when I can afford it I'll get it. Thank you again and I appreciate what you do.
Crazy Dave, this is a very good and informative video. I have been interested in dry aging meat for about a year. I recently came across a full size "all refrigerator" cheap. Could you put a link and name to all the devices that you use is your aging chamber. I would be very appreciative. Also are you a member or do you know if any groups for meat aging so that I could learn more and get ideas from others? Great video!! Keep up the good work!

Crazy Dave, Thanks for the great "How to" video. Direct and informational. I am in the just starting trial runs for my curing chamber and was curious why your target temp is 36F. Seems pretty low... I pulled out my book and it says a target temp of 58F... Help Thanks
+Casey your curing, I'm dry aging. Big difference. In dry aging we tend to keep our fridges at 35-38 Fahrenheit with avg humidity 70-85% I'm not familiar with curing but I think your right at 58f. Good luck with your project.
Did your unit need to be calibrated before you used it as I've got one and a hydrometer and the temps and humidity on both units are out by ten points to one another
Looking at specs it appears it does not need this. True T-19 has a temperature range from +33°F to +38°F. Automatically Come join Crazy Dave’s Kitchen Dry Aging Meat university
Set your TS first this is the temperature you desire if you want to cool down here's an example. Press and hold your set button until you see ts now set your temperature with the up-down buttons once you get to your temperature you want hold set. Now hold the set button again and this time click until you see CD this stands for the cool down. You are going to click up or down for how many degrees you want the cool to turn on from your original setting at the TS screen. So if my TS screen is set to 83 and I want it to cool down if it goes over 1 temperature in Fahrenheit I would set CD to 1 and hold set until you at the main screen. I hope this helps anyone that sees this.
Hello my friend better known as Crazy Dave I watch all your videos you and your Sidekick coffee bean I really want to thank you for taking the time to make these videos specially this inkbird it really made my day okie dokie that's all I have to say stay cool peace out
That’s great but my heating shows as working but I’m not using. I’m controlling my cool room I’ve set temperature at 4c. And remaining functions as bee default. Problem I still show the heating function Current cool room temp is at 1.5c. So I assume the compressor will power on when the temp reaches 6c Only question I have is why is the heating still shown as working. Tried going through the settings numerous times but can’t get rid of the heating function Thanks for any advice Cheers
Man, I haven’t used inkbird for a while. Trying to remember the troubleshooting steps. Join my Facebook group if you haven’t already and post this question there. Some guys still use them.
You can use 50/50 crushed ice and water. Place into a cup and should read 32 degrees with a few min. You also use another meat thermometer and the ice bath to help calibrate it.
Longer the better. You could adjust it longer but watch your top end temps to make sure does not go above 40 before kicking back on and if it does make sure only a brief time.
@@CrazyDavesKitchen I figured it out. holding down both buttons AFTER setting it to F and wait for it to flash, seems to lock it in. None of the other settings need that. but it is setup and working. btw, I did send them a message, but they never responded. I give everyone a break with Covid-19 and staffing, so no worries. thanks!

CaseyMyers I'm dry aging, desired temps 35-38. You are curing and that is a whole different setup spectrum. Hopefully that answers your question.
Yes that does. What is the humidity range for dry aging?
CaseyMyers preferred 70-85%

Very useful video!
How do you have the green light on cooling ?
Did your unit need to be calibrated before you used it as I've got one and a hydrometer and the temps and humidity on both units are out by ten points to one another
Not really, it was pretty precise, but i did end up calibrating using a calibrated thermometer.
the first one I seen that got to the point thanks
Hi Crazy Dave, should I use the inkbird on a True T-19?
Thanks
Looking at specs it appears it does not need this.
True T-19 has a temperature range from +33°F to +38°F. Automatically

Crazy Dave's Kitchen thanks!!
Crazy Dave's Kitchen but without the inkbird the humidity is so high because the temperature have a variation to 0.7celcius - 4.7 Celsius
How do you turn on the cooling light? I want mine to come on when the temperature is too high and turn on a fan.
Set your TS first this is the temperature you desire if you want to cool down here's an example.
Press and hold your set button until you see ts now set your temperature with the up-down buttons once you get to your temperature you want hold set.

Is this common set up for most inkbirds? I have the 230 model
For most part yes for Dry Aging.
You the man Crazy Dan thanks big time.

00:30 you have the same glitch as me ... i call 5s fs all the time usually in typing
Hello. How Do you adjust the CA?
You get to the CA menu and go up or down depending how far off the readings are based on calibration.
Best method is 50/50 ice /water should read 32
Crazy Dave's Kitchen so if IT measures 10c on the inkbird and the actual temperature is 12c. You set it on 2c??
You would add 2c to the CA side
When you do it should give you the same temps as you other device
Very helpful..thanks for sharing 👍
Dave Why did you choose a 3 degree differential ?
So that it will keep the range of 35-38 desired
Can you disable the alarm on the app?
Never tried that.
Maybe under notifications
Just a dumb question: how to calibrate the thermometer
You can use 50/50 crushed ice and water. Place into a cup and should read 32 degrees with a few min.
You also use another meat thermometer and the ice bath to help calibrate it.

Dave how do I switch from heating to cooling
Man I haven’t used this for a while. Let me think about it. Inkbird reps are in my Facebook group so you can post that question there too.
I figured it out thanks man
Is 5 minutes compressor delay optimal?
Longer the better. You could adjust it longer but watch your top end temps to make sure does not go above 40 before kicking back on and if it does make sure only a brief time.
How do you switch between heating and cooling?
1 plug is cooling the other is heating
hi i got inkbird same as yours how can i disable the alarm? driving me mad. thanks
How often is it triggering?
You change AH or AL settings.
When alarm activation it tells you which alarm was triggered
Press set and it turns off
How do I silence the thing? The beeps drive me crazy.
Press the middle button
Good quick video!
What about the wifi set up. An how do we reset it
What would I need to put everything on to keep it around 90 degrees?
use the heating side
TS: 90
HD 0
CD 0
Delay 0
AH 99
AL below 90
PT 0
Let me know
Crazy Dave's Kitchen thanks!
How do you turn off the alarm and keep it off
The only way to turn it off permanently is to set the AH to highest setting.
Really helped out !
mine keeps reverting back to C after I change the CF param from C to F. so frustrating
Reverts every time? Send inkbird a message. They respond quickly

Mine is in C. How to switch to F?
Press the set button till you see CF and change it.
cool.thanks a lot for the tip.
Mine keeps beeping what do I do ?
Have you changed the alarm thresholds so it doesn’t trip the alerts?
Thank u!
Thank you
But you gotta make sure your meat is HAPPY or nothing works. If the meat ain't happy you'll get JERKY.
