I have to draw my templates in pencil so I can correct my mistakes. Granted I'm usually making templates for holsters and sheaths which tend to be more complicated but I still make more mistakes than I'd care to admit when making patterns for any project. A mechanical pencil and a click type eraser are my best friends when making templates.
quick question, on the outer two straps on the brown cuff I know they have to be just a little longer because they have a longer circumference than the main body of the cuff. Is their a rule of thumb on how much extra length?
Due to Chuck's endorsement, and from seeing the videos, I feel I can trust the quality of Weaver products. BUT, I live in Ireland... Would shipping costs be ridiculous, and do you even ship Internationally? Thank you Chuck for the videos.
Hi Fil, We do ship international and we would be happy to get you shipping quotes prior to actually placing an order if you'd like - just send us an email at info@weaverleather.com
@@WeaverLeatherSupply Oh thank you very much for replying about the snaps, i'm looking forward to getting started in my newest of hobbies. I want you to know that I enjoy all of your tutorials, even if some aren't on things I may think i'll be making, I have learned so much from you, thank goodness for wonderful knowledgeable people like you.
That was carved using a swivel knife and then tooled using a bevel. Similar to the feather in this video: th-cam.com/video/Ouxo-fRjM24/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PeCEkOFyhY_L2usC
Hi Jax, You’re exactly right. If you’re going with a 4/5 oz. +/- it’s not too bad, but, if you jump up to an 8/9 oz. it’s going to need a bit extra in the distance. It’s hard to say exactly what the equation is so I may say test one to get a good measurement and mark that on your pattern so it’s easy to remember. See if this helps?
There's a strange phenomenon on TH-cam where people only seem to want goofy ASMR videos of leather work. Every decent video where there's actual discussion about leather is often ignored.
Weaver couldn't have picked a better guy ! Thanks Chuck !
😮❤❤❤so glad I found you. Want to make leather cuffs but didn’t know how to measure it. Thankuuuu😊
