I don't care what anyone says, Sayaka was best girl, and no one can convince me otherwise. It's technically Monokuma's fault for all this murdering crap. (No spoilers, because I'm a nice person) While, yes, Sayaka did try to kill Leon, it's because she was driven to insanity by all this pressure. She had regret in her actions and it's even admitted in the game. Sayaka thought about Makoto in her final moments, and I think that's sweet. Sayaka was a pretty, kind hearted girl, and she died way too soon. I don't know, I just really loved her character. Sayaka and Makoto could've been a cute couple too.

Not really, you missed a detail. Monokuma and Sakura agreed that she would kill someone if nothing happened after the first year. Even if Sakura would've refused to do that, the tension would've been real after this agreement would've been revealed.
Also from this-chapter 4 included different motives made by monakuma. Chapter 1, traumatizing footage, chapter 2 blackmail, chapter 3 bribery, chapter 4 used some kind of hostage to make oogami do his dirty work

Yeah i think Sayaka and Leon were the most realistic. Sayaka started panicking when she found out about her friends and wanted to find out what happened, and Leon with how he acted when he was about to get executed. Especially if he knew how he would be executed. Those two were done dirty.
Sayaka's underrated. 'Nough said. I've met people like her that take actions that are drastic. People say they wouldn't let motives get to them, but people similar to Sayaka are easy to break, their actions can lead them to their death or execution. Bottom line: I get what Sayaka did. Do I condone it? No. But there people like her who have a lot to lose if they can't get out asap. It's why she can also be the perfect example of someone desperate who get themselves killed.
Remember they where ALL forced into that killed game! So don't blame ONLY blame Sayaka or Leon blame Monokuma -_- Sure they should not have done what they did, but they where scared teens forced into a killing game

It’s so deheartening how little the emotional factors played into the murder were touched on. It feels incredibly rushed, with a lot of the finer details last minute and something easy to misinterpret or miss completely. Like, how Sayaka failed to kill Leon because she hesitated for Makoto’s sake, how she faltered because he was her friend and she couldn’t bring herself to harm him. It’s not naturally expressed through the plot and it’s easy to look past as such. She regretted her actions and that’s when Leon swung and broke her wrist!!!! That could have been very interesting to see touched on more!!!! But you don’t get to learn the internal reasoning for her wrist, her failure. It’s only explained through Kirigiri at the end of the trial as attempts to define her character last minute, but it’s just treated like that - a last minute thought. I just wish she didn’t always gets the snake treatment.

Sayaka wasn't a snake. Like, who wouldn't do what she did to make sure their family was ok? I can't speak for everyone but I knoe I would 100% do the same thing in her situation. Not to mention in her last moments, instead of conserving her energy to survive, she wrote the killers name so everyone would know who did it. She never wanted to "betray" anyone, but she had a family outside to protect.

I don’t understand why people are calling her a snake. If you were put in her situation it’s like choosing between a boy you just met or your childhood friend group you deeply care about. I’m not saying that she didn’t like Makoto, I do believe that she cared about him since she even thought about him in her final seconds before death, but Sayaka really just wanted to see if her friends were ok and didn’t even know that if she won the trial everyone else would die.

If this actually happened irl most people would act like this, just amagin this situation- I really like her character, shes a really cute popstar that has a bond with the main character (Makoto), I think we only saw too little of her of a character. We only saw her the first episode where everyone got introduced to their new lifestyle that they would have to kill eachother, that wouldn't really be normal so, it's normal for her to be scared I guess. Ya know, I like how ppl are starting to see the good side of sayaka. Exploring her reasons and what not, it’s actually quite nice. Although she isn’t my favorite ofc and I don’t mind that she died first, but I also wouldn’t have mind if we saw more of her. I’m more intrigued with Leon and sayaka together surviving. It doesn’t have to be in a couple way but considering how Leon wanted to be a singer, that could’ve been an interesting relationship/friendship.
Tbf, I found Maizono a little bit bland and boring but pretty as a character, until I thought about her some more, and she became my 1st best girl along with Kyoko. She’s more than a “snake.” !!SPOILERS FOR DR:IF!! (Please read the novel it’s important.) Sayaka took Naegi to the infirmary after he fainted (the murder plan failed.) and looked over him while she was interrupted by Mukuro. She feels genuine remorse and ashamed over what she did and not only want to confess her plans to Makoto and Leon, but also try to resolve the situation, which proves she‘s not a goddamn heartless girl like everyone makes her out to be. Of course what she didn’t was right, but she acknowledges the repercussions that her actions have and tries to fix them like a normal person should. Also on a lighter note, she kind of possesses the voice from Mafumafu and she kind of both looks like Soraru and Mafumafu, so.
Yeah... plus, since we know that at the credits of ultra despair girls, he and Komaru manage to sing the song at the end, meaning that Makoto probably has some good vocal ranges...

The anime is so underrated. In just two minutes I was more invested in Sayaka's character than I ever was in the game
I honestly don't blame her because the work you have to put in the diets to have to go through to become an idol is very tough so I don't blame her for trying to get out of there and even though she was dying she wrote leons name to protect Makoto
It’s so deheartening how little the emotional factors played into the murder were touched on. It feels incredibly rushed, with a lot of the finer details last minute and something easy to misinterpret or miss completely.
Like, how Sayaka failed to kill Leon because she hesitated for Makoto’s sake, how she faltered because he was her friend and she couldn’t bring herself to harm him. It’s not naturally expressed through the plot and it’s easy to look past as such. She regretted her actions and that’s when Leon swung and broke her wrist!!!! That could have been very interesting to see touched on more!!!!
But you don’t get to learn the internal reasoning for her wrist, her failure. It’s only explained through Kirigiri at the end of the trial as attempts to define her character last minute, but it’s just treated like that - a last minute thought. I just wish she didn’t always gets the snake treatment.

If she really cared for Makoto that much, then why did she attempted to frame him in the first place when she can literally choose from 12 other students to frame for murder? She doesn't have to involve Makoto in her plan if she cares that much about him. I think this is where the fandom calls her a "snake". I mean she's his friend right? I get it why she wants to get out, but does it really have to be Makoto who'll take the fall?
@@Alexandra_Westheart it's clear sayaka wanted to switch rooms with Makoto because it was more effective to save her friends, if she talks to Byakuya or Aoi to do that, Sayaka would be discovered fastly as the killer, this is why she tried to blame Makoto, but she hesitated and that's why she failed, Sayaka deserves better, so much better than this.

Sayaka wasn't a snake. Like, who wouldn't do what she did to make sure their family was ok? I can't speak for everyone but I knoe I would 100% do the same thing in her situation. Not to mention in her last moments, instead of conserving her energy to survive, she wrote the killers name so everyone would know who did it. She never wanted to "betray" anyone, but she had a family outside to protect.

I don’t understand why people are calling her a snake. If you were put in her situation it’s like choosing between a boy you just met or your childhood friend group you deeply care about. I’m not saying that she didn’t like Makoto, I do believe that she cared about him since she even thought about him in her final seconds before death, but Sayaka really just wanted to see if her friends were ok and didn’t even know that if she won the trial everyone else would die.

I really think shes an underrated character. Everyone hates her cuz she tired to kill Leon and blame in on Makoto I think she did that because she lost her sanity, she seems realistic. If this actually happened irl most people would act like this, just amagin this situation- I really like her character, shes a really cute popstar that has a bond with the main character (Makoto), I think we only saw too little of her of a character. We only saw her the first episode where everyone got introduced to their new lifestyle that they would have to kill eachother, that wouldn't really be normal so, it's normal for her to be scared I guess.

Ya know, I like how ppl are starting to see the good side of sayaka. Exploring her reasons and what not, it’s actually quite nice. Although she isn’t my favorite ofc and I don’t mind that she died first, but I also wouldn’t have mind if we saw more of her. I’m more intrigued with Leon and sayaka together surviving. It doesn’t have to be in a couple way but considering how Leon wanted to be a singer, that could’ve been an interesting relationship/friendship.

Tbf, I found Maizono a little bit bland and boring but pretty as a character, until I thought about her some more, and she became my 1st best girl along with Kyoko.

Sayaka took Naegi to the infirmary after he fainted (the murder plan failed.) and looked over him while she was interrupted by Mukuro. She feels genuine remorse and ashamed over what she did and not only want to confess her plans to Makoto and Leon, but also try to resolve the situation, which proves she‘s not a goddamn heartless girl like everyone makes her out to be. Of course what she didn’t was right, but she acknowledges the repercussions that her actions have and tries to fix them like a normal person should.
Also on a lighter note, she kind of possesses the voice from Mafumafu and she kind of both looks like Soraru and Mafumafu, so.
