When I was doing my research to learn about aquaculture I learnt that these fish are Murrelet which are farmed by farmer in tanks or high density lakes instead of the fish doesn’t eat all different feed as they do in natural habitat so when we eat such fish we don’t get all the micronutrient that supposed to be in a naturally grow fish, when fish poop in same water in tanks the these can go to bottom it decompose and it can cause diseases in fish, in India we don’t have authorities to inspect the final product before they reach to consumers, consumer does not have know to differentiate farmed or wild caught Murrel it can effect consumers.These farming in tank has reduced size or Weight of fish so reducing the value of final product if it is lesser than 1 kg (we Indians want to take 1 kg fish so when we cut it does not lose weight in fins,head,digestive guts which are thrown out), when these are farmed in high density it has also reduced marked value of fish which I turn effects farmers who grow them in lakes of villages, farmers are moving away as they are losing business due to this ,some farmer when they grow in tank they might not have knowledge of diseases which also a concern. so this is not good for consumers or farmers as per my opinion.
