Dear Mr Cutting Edge, At 8:24 to 8:30 each time you take a stroke, the vertical collar / pivot (above the brass locking nut) is jumping up and down. I think its because the black bolt at the top (fixing it to the vertical rod) is loose. Each time it occurs, it moves a few millimeters which is changing your angle and it makes a clunking sound, which is irritating now that I've noticed it. I hope this information helps you out. Cheers from Australia.
Hey buddy, while I was watching this vid I took an old 600 grit stone and hand held a pair of old dull scissors and had at it as per your instructions. Wow, they cut quite good again. Can't wait to vise em up a bit and work a little better at it for all the other scissors we have around the house. Thanks Jake.
Yeah, a person can do a pretty good job with just a stone. You can find videos on TH-cam that show exactly that. It takes a bit of hand control - that I don't have much of with my arthritis but a guy could sharpen stones much more quickly that way than you could with this adapter rig.
I think you (or I) have different scissors entirely... I just checked every pair in the house, and they all have a chisel grind. Thanks for the videos!!! I have a K-02 and found your videos while looking for tips and tricks.
My scissors are pretty standard, and yes the grind on them could be called a chisel grind, so I think we have scissors that are made very much the same way.
Aaron, I am not very familiar with barber shears. Also right now is a terrible time for me to think about doing something new. Could you email me sometime after mid August about this - canadiancuttingedge AT gmail.com
Took the idea from KME, but it’s pretty obvious geometric solution - the attachment allows to get 90 degrees minus the original angle set in the system thus works for bigger angles you need for scissors as compares to most of knives
I have not used the KME for scissors so I am not sure how it compares. I have used the KME for sharpening knives. My guess is that it is VERY similar, they seem to be almost identical in how they work.
a good place online is gritomatic - www.gritomatic.com/ they are also in Russia but they are much faster, and they know stones better than almost anybody. Other than that you can search on Amazon
I replied to this question that you posted on one of my other videos. I will let you know if it works after I get my Hapstone R1 - I should get it around the first week or two of april.
I would think that most people would sharpen hairdressing scissors to about 400. My wife cuts my hair all the time and I have sharpened her hairdressing scissors to 220 and they work VERY well, so 400 should definitely be enough. But if you use a sharpening system like the TSPROF it is just as easy to go all the way to 1000, it just takes an extra minute or two. BUT, there isn't info out there on your exact question. Are you or do you know a hairdresser?
I don't sharpen scissors on my workshop - except once I tried it - didn't like it - didn't give a super crisp sharp edge on the scissors. GREAT for convex grind knives though.
There are various prices, depending on which options you get. Look at their website: tsprof.com/ If you are in USA they also have it at DLT Trading: www.dlttrading.com/tsprof-k02-wranglestar-knife-sharpening-kit
It is best to get a number of things at once, the shipping is crazy if you only buy one thing. I ordered mine together with several other attachments and parts. I didn't realize it would be that much shipping cost for only one thing.

Quite probably they got the idea from KME.
Great tutorial, interesting to see. How does this sharpening system compare to kme. Is it better or the same in your opinion. Thanks. Tony

Do you know where I can get the sharpening stones???? Because in takes long time from tech studio!!!!

Other than that you can search on Amazon
You can also get them on www.knife-usa.com official dealer in US based in Wilmington, Delaware.
Does anyone know if this is compatible with the hapstone rotating clamp?

do you know the grit for hairdressing scissors?

i'm saving up for tsprof K02 my sister is a hairdresser she cut my hair all the time and also i got recently into knife collecting
I don't think you want to go too fine. You want a bit if a toothy blade on scissors so they grab and cut rather then slip.
How did you find the results compared to your WorkSharp?
I don't sharpen scissors on my workshop - except once I tried it - didn't like it - didn't give a super crisp sharp edge on the scissors. GREAT for convex grind knives though.
qualcuno mi sa dire come fare l'acquisto di questo strumento e quanto costa?
