I just hope Hayley doesn't get overwhelmed by that little fail she had 'cause the fear for that happening was the motive this song wasn't played until now.
It wasn't the fear of her not hitting those notes... she never did the song live because she didn't want to damage her vocals! It puts a tremendous strain on them and tbh this might be one if not the only time we'll ever see her do it. Some lucky fans were there for sure.

It sounds like that in the video because the people next to me who were singing were obviously closer to my phone than the speakers were so their voices sound louder. I nearly shit myself when I first heard the news, then really shit myself when I realized I wasn’t there to hear it in person. And let’s be honest, the reason this song can be so hard to sing is because Hailey really let us have it, you can FEEL the emotion and all the feelings in this song. How sad, yet angry and desperate it sounds. It hits a chord in all of us. I’m so glad she believed in her own capabilities and performed it. This was so magical.

It wasn't an octave higher. An octave is 8 notes, she took the last E5 to a G5, 3 notes higher. Still very impressive
