- Building a custom bespoke carbon fiber bimini seems like a great idea. We have a Beneteau 49 sailboat and the bimini is falling off, so why not! This is the first step in the ACTUAL hardtop, everything leading up to this point.
Shorter episode because well, the next one is exciting :-)
Sit back enjoy and subscribe!
Thanks all

I don't really have anything constructive to add. I just enjoy watching and know comments help the algorithm. Love you guys!
love it! Thank you :-)
@GroovyGuy I'm the same!
The teamwork you two show is an inspiration! I love the way you work so well together.
Appreciate you guys doing something to help out those suffering after the Hurricane. I'll be there to hang out and throw in some support.
This ep. was a typical Build Break Fix Repeat adventure 🤩🏁
I am SO IMPRESSED with you two! Not only are you highly intelligent but you’re also the cutest couple! Love watching your videos and can’t wait to see the final product.
( the process is so cool 😎)
Stay safe and healthy ❤
This learning curve hasn’t been steep, been vertical! You guys are amazing. Love the MacGyver factor as well as your planning and execution. ❤
🧗
Watched every video on both channels once I found yall... whens the next video coming? Waiting impatiently😁
Thanks for the support for my little island of Grenada 🇬🇩🇬🇩🇬🇩
Looking like all the hard work is coming together.
You guys are simply amazing in how well you work together and in how much you accomplish.
It’s coming along great. Hope it all works out with all the hard work going into this project.
I'm so impressed with your engineering skills, a little confused over the waffling effect, yet am positive!
Removing that peel ply looks almost as fun as picking a scab.
Looking forward to the 14th. Love seeing the sailing channels get together for this. Been following a few and the word is definitely spreading. Kudos and rock on!! Time to make a difference to those in need.
Currently avoiding my basement reno to watch you work. Thanks for the inspiration
Impressive. Can't wait 2 c the final product installation. Thanks for sharing.
It's looking pretty dam good now that the parts are in place.
Thanks for sharing the Rise Grenada link & making me aware of what is going on down there. I believe they need help now, so will donate before the live stream this weekend. Hope they can rebuild soon with everyone’s help
Comment for the algorithm! Love you guys! Keep the vids coming!
This has been a ton of work. If this fits and works the first time, you two need to open a boat top shop when you are done with your world tour. If it doesn't work, try try again. I'm still worried about big gusts of wind turning your boat into a kite or ripping it off, but I trust you two will figure it out.
Looking to see the finished product. Bet it will be great. You guys work great together.
It always makes my day when you guys have a video up...thanks. The outline view looks like the stern end of an 18th century sailing ship. Elegant. Budapeter
Very exciting. It does add dimension to the boat. The profile view has nice symmetry from the top of the arch
to the waterline. I would imagine a few nerves in your stomach as it starts to piece together.

Im just so happy youre back! Cant wait to see the process and the result. Keep the good vibes coming.
oh goodness complex and complicated ! YOULL GET IT RIGHT ! HANG IN THERE ! LOOKS GOOD !
I'm enjoying your content on this channel (algorithm helping too!) I'm looking forward to seeing how the solar panels sit on top and the dingy below.
Good on you for helping the recovery y in Grenada!
I will agree with Brett, it’s going to be epic.
You two are both amazing. Love watching you guys. ❤
Love watching ya'll's engineering vids. Can't wait for another. It's been 2 weeks already. When will the next one come out? 1/2 million followers are anxiously waiting...Rock on!! ~One love
Looking good! So exiting to see it all come together.
Pretty impressive guy’s. Cheers for the watch 😊
Fantastic project progress! Great job! Mold/mould/moulde is a tough word
Me too . . . go the algorithm!
How come you kids don't post videos but once a month or more? I really enjoyed following your progress and adventures. I'd become a Patrion member but your fees are more than I can afford on my Military Disability. I've followed you since you were in the van. You're providing good content.
So far the design really looks good with the boats lines - Kudos! Oh - and...... "internal grid structures" we see what you did there. ;)
Amazing work looks like the fundraiser is on my birthday, July 14th. Great job guys can't wait to see come together.
I really enjoy seeing your project coming together. Wish you the best , job well done s far and can’t wait to see the next episode.
You 2 are awesome! have been watching form the beginning - if I need someone to do fiberglass, I'm call you 2!
HI guys , having worked in a glassfiber factory for a few years making parts for coaches and some boats , i know you are going to reinforce where the new legs bolt to the hull , a structure is only as strong as its weakest link . and to reinforce where the bolts intrude into the hull on the inside can only be a good thing , just saying is all . love youre channel and what you are doing , looks fantastic .keep up the great work .
A quick layer of glass on your form will make it ok to bag to. PM if you want some more suggests.
Comment, commenty comment, algorithm balborithm, YOU GUYS ROCK!
CONCERN CONCERN!!!! Bret, your bolts on your Carbon Fiber wings attachment to the boat, need a metal stock plate that you screw into. Inside your wing and under your boat fiberglass. Currently you have a 1.5" washer/bolt. Over time those fibers are going to wear. Take anything plastic and move it back and forth enough times and you will have 2 pieces. Same theory with your 2 bolt holes for your carbon wings.
You can add paint to epoxy to make marbled glossy colors like the one Jade made with the nail paint. There's a lot of TH-camrs who make fake marble countertops and shower enclosures with this method. It's beautiful, quick, cheap, easy, lightweight.
Do not forget to preplace conduit runs before you close up all the foam... It's easier to do it now then cut in channels later.
What a great project Way to go
You can just wrap it with cheap regular vinyl film wrap, like what's used on car wraps, to cover your amateur non-prepreg carbon fiber part. Then it's waterproof, lightweight, and beautiful. Super easy fix and every color you could ever imagine, glossy or matte or whatever you please just like car wraps.
please post some more on this project as i i am just starting to do something similar and would like to see how you got on and what worked and not. on your main channel i see your leaving the area so i take the project done cant wait.
Great message at the very end!
Like and comment because, of course. Excited for the vid.
Thank you! 🌊🧜♀️⛵🧜♂️🌊
Super excited to see yall's hard work starting to come together. Very inspirational. Thank you for the videos.
Nice work of art. 😊
I watched Free Range Sailing in Tasmania and they made a Bibini from the same product, just giving you a heads up, some ideas they used may help you with your, love you vlogs keep it up!!
I sure wish you would show more of the instilation here on your site. I miss your imput as you are finalizung the construction and install.
That’s look beautiful !
Love your work. Keep going.
SO EXCITING
Holy shit that top looks really really good.
Mould, mold in the USA, go girl !
How has Jade been feeling? She really looks like she has concurred her bout with her earlier sickness. Love watching ALL your videos ever since beginning. LET’S
Lookin great guys! I wonder if Eva could go total electric-hybrid with a system like Oceanvolt?
Oh and TYSM for helping the Rise Grenada project. So sad how Hurricane Beryl totally devastated those folks. Every bit helps!❤
I know what would make your lives even more fabulous than it already is. That’s right, a baby! Get busy!
I’ll likefollowsubscribe if Bryan gets a haircut. Let it go man, we all know what you’re combating.
😂
This carbon fiber layout is a very labor intensive project, but the results are very impressive.
I did not realize that the foam in the stanchions would be removed.
So, is there a threaded boss that is part of the assemblies that facilate fastening the sections together?
Good work you two!
You should watch videos from Spear It Animal channel. They have same boat class and added a new hard top like that, but they raised their boom to get it higher so more room to stand under. Also added a stripper pole on top lol.
Well done!
I love how you two work together! But the times that you don't, and what tried doesn't have disagreements, how do you get past that when it's just you 2 at sea?
Great work
Parece que os sentís a gusto en mi país, me encanta.
He estado tentado de venir a saludaros pero he pensado que no era conveniente.
Tienes que hacerlo, no te comerán, y les entretendrá. Aquí no conocen a nadie. Invitaron a todos hace mucho tiempo.
Nice work!
Been missing you guys! Sorry - I'm a bit slow with tech, and somehow skipped this channel!
kind of reminds me of Spear it animal's Hard top project a few months ago.
Fantastic ❤
Excellent video..
That boat better be fast. Looks a bit like a '71 Dodge Daytona, and what's not to like about that. A bit more curve, though. Super job, and gives your boat a very customized look, I think. But then, I know nothing about boats.
🎉🎉🎉. I’ve been watching for a very long time and I still have no idea what the final product will look like and what it actually does 😂😂😂😂😂😂. I’m so sorry but I guess my little brain just can’t see it 😂😂.
But one thing I do know is…
That it will look perfect and it will work perfectly.
Blessings,Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
👍👍👍👍👍
You guys are awesome 👍why are you making the solution so High? It Will ( in my opinion) be to massive to the design of the boat. But it is only my opinion, keep up the good work 👌 and keep smilling 😊
Lookin good !
Looks great!
So much work! Can't wait to see the finished product! Let's Go! 🇺🇲
great!
Next project - passerelle!
Well done persistence pays off
Mold has many meanings...all about context.
I originally thought yall were replacing the Bimini with a hard top as well.
As I got older I had the odd Senior moment. Now I have the odd Junior moment. It’s all to easy to get your mords wuddled at times.
Where are you guys? Haven’t seen you in either of your sites in over a month. What gives? I miss you.
I dont understand why you would need the grid structure? The design of the hartop and legs look great!
The actual saying is, “ Words is Hard”!
Pretty sure the "Words are hard" phrase got big from Evanandkatelyns channel. They at least have merch for it
12:38 "Evan and Katelyn" 2.0. Next you will be saying "resin time, resin time, do do do do, resin time".
Question concerning the fundraiser: will the money just go the Carriacou and Grenada or also Union Island and the rest of the Grenadines? Asking since I mostly spent time in the latter part, and they have been hit hard as well.
good question, i don't have an answer but i'll find out!
@@ExpeditionEngineering Thanks, appreciated! Cool you are being part of the fundraiser by the way! Having been in a Cat 5+ myself, I sadly know the absolute level of destruction and complete lack of even the most basic of amenities.
O WOW IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS ...LOLOLOL love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like a wing. Have you engineering in the load at hurricane force winds?
Words are Hard is from Evan and Kaitlyn. Also from TH-cam
Well its progress , but the way you've patch worked the black carbon fibreglass in some ares and not others is rather
puzzling to me ? ( and maybe others too ? ) as there's 2 large sections and then nothing on other large sections of the green styrofoam .
Hope this gets explained in next weeks video 👍🙏😸
I am guessing only the ribs to shave down costs? For the rest the fiber will mostly likely suffice.
random question since I love your videos but know less than nothing about sailing...will the new hardtop compromise the stability of the boat as far as wind goes?
you need to fill the legs with foam for strength i it seems wierd but if the legs can fold they will collapse
