Thank you for not just creating "oh I have 2 clips" video, I've wasted so much time searching for this and I'm so thankful! This seams like such an important part of using multicam clips its shocking I couldn't find it on other's!
Great video and I cant wait to learn more about davinci now that I have made the switch from some "creative cluster of water" software!

This is so useful for those of us filming action cam videos where often there are multiple cameras shooting the same thing, but where you cannot align to waveform or even timecode (without messing with offsets). For example, I ride a dh trail with my mtb and my gopro and my mate follows with his...this is really the only way to multicam it neatly. Thanks!

I record with Filmic Pro, and have started looking to incorporate the other person that is doing FB-Live as the B roll.
My first attempt was just add the live video as the B roll, ditch the audio; then cut and delete from the B roll. Gaps where the main video plays through, leaving in place for the B roll to be shown.
Thank you for showing the more correct and proper way for doing this.

I can definitely see this as useful for any filmmaking with multiple angles on the same scene or even just having a documentary with different clips over the same audio. I'm actually excited to use this in some aspects. Thank you very much!

SUPER useful tip! I’ve been doing a lot of multicam editing lately, one PTZ camera and one static camera, that splits into 4 or 5 different files. This will make my life SO much easier.
    Thank you! 🥇

Thanks! Mr. Alex. I had spent so much time trying to find out how to do this on this past wedding on Sunday. 3 cameras and audio would not align.uggg. I did a manual line up and still could not get a multi clip. I just did what you did step by step and it worked. Amazing! Thanks so much!!!

Hello Alex. I am sending you this message from Germany and would like to thank you very much for your first-class videos. These are always very professional and well presented. Unfortunately, my English is not that good, but I can usually follow you well. It is so remarkable that there are people like you who continue to teach their knowledge. 2:00 any ideas on when this doesn't work? I have 2 clips that have identical waveforms and it says auto-sync failed, even though they're so similar I can line them up visually pretty quick. I'm trying to automate because I need to do this process ~30 times.

Good stuff... We must have had similar thoughts today as I put together a similar video. I think I got must of the information from Jason's video before. Didn't know about the create from Timeline though - that's very cool. Other thing that's useful is the display settings for the timeline where you can have timeslines "tabbed" so you can have your multi cam clip displayed on a tab to easily switch back it for any adjustments if required....

Thanks for the video. I am working through a project that can definitely benefit from this. Before finding this, I would still line up all the clips on multiple video tracks and then just copy/drag my clips up to the the topmost track basically manually assembling a multicam clip. What if you covert a timeline to a multicam clip and then need to add another angle? If the context is confusing, let's say you're shooting a music video and after seeing the multi, you realize you need some pickup angles. How do you insert a new track into the multicam?

Great explanation! What's your advice on using multiple GoPro's (that create many 4GB files)? When I record my band, I usually start/stop the camera for the duration of a musical set (~ 1hr each x 3).
Does this sound like the best approach?
    1. Combine all 4GB clips into a compound clip for each "set" (for each camera), ending up with 2 compound clips
    2. Sync the two compound clips (Auto sync doesn't seem to work because the clips are too long)
    3. Create Multi-cam timeline (as you described)
    4. Cut the compound "set" clip into "song" clips
    5. Do the multi-cam editing on each "song" clip
I also have 6 or 8 tracks of audio that need to be mixed down to 2ch stereo and applied to the timeline.

Alex great video, how do you handle multiple audio files.....eg shooting a wedding where I'll have 3 cameras which will pick up room sound via external mic attached to all cameras but my best audio will be voice recorders attached to both the groom and officiant and possibly a lecturn mic for any speakers so I could have 3 files of master audio.....how would you go about creating a multicam based on that? Do I need to do a sync of the 3 audio files into one timeline and export that as a single audio file and then reimport that as my single audio source to sync the video footage to? Sorry if not clear.
