This is outstanding work. You have just saved me from buying a wireless video monitoring setup. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this fantastic software. I can’t imagine at this point what’s missing. I definitely wasn’t expecting to wake up to this haha.
I wanted to say thanks again Adam for the interview and the demo of this new Webview feature. It's been a blast getting to use this application! Can't wait to download the update today!
Hey Adam, looks like you are putting a lot of effort in this tool. Great work! I have two questions regarding the stream that you receive in MixEffect: 1) In your docs you write "similar services" compared to VDO.Ninja. What are the requirements for a stream being receivable inside MixEffect? 2) I was wondering if it was possible to consume an NDI stream directly without the need for a mac mini. If not, could you do it or is it impossible for whatever reason?
Any video service that can publish a video to a webpage can be supported by MixEffect. Remote Webview just displays the contents of a webpage, after all. Right now, the app can't decode NDI streams. It's something I've thought about adding, but currently don't have the bandwidth to add at the moment.
@@AdamTow can we use OBS to capture Multiview and send a stream to your webpage monitor? or what other video services may operate? always trying to avoid internet availability. thanks!
@@patamuslo69 If OBS can output a stream that can be viewed via HTTP, it may be possible to use with Remote Webview. Or, if it outputs something else like RTMP, an app like VLC on the iPad could view its stream too. You wouldn't get access to the Multiview Switcher feature, but you could use it to at least preview the Multiview Stream on the iPad or other iOS device.Give it a shot and let me know what you find out!
@@AdamTow Got it. Thank you Adam. I will try next week when my new Extreme arrives. I have a Pro but bought an Extreme solely because of your product and how much time it will save me combined with SuperSource. Thanks matey!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
hi Adam! last night i had a location with no internet access, but i had my own LAN network including ATEM, computer, hdmi capture to computer, and other remote wifi computer apple m1 with wifi and mixeffect pro.. How can i work the remote webviewer without WAN internet? maybe NDI or another internal way to pass video? thanks in advance!
I don’t think this is possible since VDO.ninja needs to be accessible to set up the direct peer to peer connection between the sending and receiving devices. I don’t have NDI support planned in the immediate future, but it’s something I am keeping my eye on.
@@AdamTow thanks for your fast response as always! i will think another turnaround to take advantage on this monitoring without internet only with LAN 🙏
just started working with Mix Effect and in the trial mode right now. If I am following you right this only works on an Apple computer not Windows. I am using a windows computer only and don't plan to switch have you already or are you going to do the same for Windows computers? that would be awesome.
No plans for a Windows version. Wrote the app using Apple frameworks and development system. Blackmagic has a Windows SDK that someone can use to create a similar product.
Sound will come through if you set it to do so from the VDO.Ninja side. Make sure your iPad isn't plugged into HDMI, otherwise, the sound will be output through there instead of the iPad's speakers.
@adamtow I set it to come out of VDO on macbook which I can hear it there but can’t hear it in mixeffect nor can I hear it on my iPhone when I share the link to it
Whatever is being outputted from the HDMI Outs from your switcher will be mirrored on your iPad when using VDO Ninja. So, if you use HDMI Out 2 for something else, you will have to use HDMI Out 1 for Multiview on the iPad. But remember, you can change what the HDMI Outs are outputting from the Auxiliary section in MIxEffect. What you can't do is get three outputs from two outputs. You could also use the two USB-C outputs in VDO Ninja, though those will always display Program output.
My capture device won’t see multiview only see Camera 1 direct I’m using the Atem mini extreme I have it plugged into output one on the atem I think it has to do with the atem outputting at 60 Hz or not outputting at 60 Hz not sure what the problem is. The capture card works for everything else. It’s one of those cheap capture cards off Amazon that has pass through
You can use MixEffect at the same time you're displaying the MV via Remote Webview. The view is not tappable, so you would continue to use MixEffect's controls to adjust the program/preview source.
@@Sceen-name While I have thought about how I might do this, there's nothing on the current roadmap at the moment. Don't know of other ways to do that from the iPad in the way that you want.
On the VDON page that is pushing out the stream, it lists how many viewers are and how much bandwidth is being sent out. For two viewers, I was seeing about 4.5 Mbps, one viewer was around 2 Mbps. There are some settings in VDON where you can adjust the picture quality too.
Response to the last comment in the Live Chat for Edgar: Yes, you can do that. In MixEffect, only one Remote Webview can be displayed at a time though, but you could use Mobile Safari to display the other VDO Ninja link in Split View/Slide Over.

How do you bring a VDO Ninja guest into your ATEM to the use that feed into SuperSource? Like the way Aaron Parecki brought you in on his Q&A podcast?
Trying to remember, but we might have had a Zoom backhaul meeting at the same time we were doing the VDO.njnja feed.

Hello, is this method for viewing only with no sound. When I share the link, no sound is coming through

This is awesome!
The USB out on the ATEM cannot be multiview? Or it's only program out.
USB out is Program out.
nice video!
Can I use the two output from the atem for something different and put the multi in the ipad?

does this allow for control of program / preview source on the ATEM at the same time as multiviewing?

@@AdamTow any road map to make tapping on a transparent control layer, or know of any other ways to do that in an ipad?

For some reason my VDO.ninja link is not showing anything
It’s working on another computer that I put the link on but it’s not showing up on my iPad for some reason
Sometimes it takes a moment for the link to render. Try clearing out the URL and reentering in the Remote Overview sheet. Then click Connect.
Got it! I was just being impatient. Thank you.
This is great! I’ll try it with my own software @streamvoodoo! 😎 thanks for sharing.
