You are a livesaver -- I'm currently having to take my courses online due to COVID-19 and my professors are not adapting well to online learning. This is exactly the channel I need to effectively and concisely summarize GI pathology!

Same here, it's been 6 years for me now :( Have u found any resolution yet? It seems like every year it gets worse and my dental hygiene is nearly perfect, my dentist sees no issues, my ENT says everything looks fine (I do get small tonsil stones sometimes) but he wouldn't recommend tonsil removal (complications and that might not even be the major cause). Sorry for the long reply, I'm just so over this. I hate the looks ppl give me

@@MiszFit09 Hello! I had an ultrasound and a lump is visible, I have unexplained weight loss and out of this world bad breath so I completely understand the looks. I thought it was due to stomach issues (gerd)> I recently went to my Primary and he mentioned ZD. I saw a ENT last year and they looked at me like I was crazy. I go to a different ENT this Friday I'm going to tell them about ZD and to do a barium swallow, the lump is there and the last Dr (I'm assuming) had no clue about ZD and he was highly recommended. Bottom line doctors don't know everything (sorry). If you have the feeling of a lump in your throat ask your Dr. to do and ultrasound and go from there.

@@Avalynnlee123 I really believe that's what it could be (minus the feeling of a lump in my throat). I practice good dental hygiene. I floss, tongue scrape, brush for 2 minutes every time. I stopped using mouthwash because it doesn't make much of a difference. I've even tried oral probiotics a few times. And NOTHING has helped 🤦🏾‍♀️ it makes me depressed I hate being around ppl. The other day, (mind u I had on a mask) I was at the register paying for my items and the cashier's reaction really hurt my self esteem. He immediately started coughing, backing up and covering his nose. I'm just like how is it really that bad with all the extra steps I take. I even went a couple months not eating sweets or drinking sodas (trying to eliminate unnecessary sugar from my diet) that didn't help. I drink lots water everyday I may treat myself to soft drinks here and there especially during the holidays but it's always water only for me. Sorry for the long comment, I'm just really annoyed and sad that I can't get any answers or solutions from my dentist and drs

@@MiszFit09 Hello! I have been researching this thing and all the symptos point to ZD, I had H pylori, the Dr. said I have Gerd. I've always had a cough and sore throat, kept a pack of halls. It's very embarrassing and going to work is the worst. You don't have to be next to people and they can smell it, so I completely understand how you're feeling. I will definately let you know what the Dr. has to say on Friday. Hang in there it's very depressing, I've been dealing with this for a few years now.

@@Avalynnlee123 Thank u so much I'm trying 🙏🏾 yes keep me updated. I'm trying to schedule with a gastro dr ASAP because all of my drs and dentist just look at me like I'm crazy when clearly they can smell it too because I watch their reactions 🤦🏾‍♀️ I've been dealing with this for a few years also but over the past 4 it seems to have gotten worse

Hey there! Unfortunately, with any Zenker's treatment including endoscopic staple diverticulostomy (ESD), there is a small percentage (approximaely 10%) that the Zenker's diverticulum recurs typically within one year of treatment (average 8.5 months). The most common cause is persistent laryngopharyngeal reflux. If you do suffer with chronic reflux it could be the cause of your difficulty swallowing and the recurrence of your Zenkers.
