Sadly, Rachel never really grows. Season after season, this is pretty much who she is. And I probably would enjoy her performances more if they weren't so prevalent and other characters were given more opportunities to shine as well. I loved Coach Beiste in this season.

And from my point of view, she did occasional good things that resulted in some genuinely heartwarming moments that gave me hope, but by the next episode, she was the old Rachel again. For me, that really never made up for all the self-centered actions she took throughout the series. But hey, you're free to love Rachel, and so is Jay. Good for him if he manages to keep loving her, because it's hard to keep enjoying Glee in later seasons if you're not a fan of Rachel. We don't all need to like the same things, you know.
@@morgand.3809 sorry but you really can not seriousily say that from pilot Rachel to finale Rachel there was no growth. 95% of the character grew and then regressed. That happens. Things we saw Quinn for instants do in season 1 we saw her do in season 5. Ranting Santana the same. Even a grown man like Will regressed. No one said you need to like her but it seemed misleading to say she never really grows.

And you're not wrong that most characters in this show suffered from the same malady. Even the characters I did love. It's part of what made the show so unappealing to me in later seasons. A few notes about "Sunshine" aka Charice Pempengco aka Jake Zyrus (transtioned to a male a few years ago). For this I will call him Charice as it pertains to his past persona. Usually when they shoot singing scenes on Glee, they play the music and the actors mime to it while doing the choreography. In the "Listen" performance, they had Charice sing the song IRL to capture the authentic reaction from the other cast members and then in the released version, you ofc. hear the studio version. Also they had Charice sing at like 80 % capacity to not totally overshadow the rest of the cast. And no, I don't know him personally now. I met Charice once 13 years ago in Las Vegas but I know people who know him.
Urgh yes Rachel was wrong and no excuse for it but she essentially sent her to what she thought was a empty house. Quinn threw Santana under the bus to get head cheerleader back , Santana started a fist fight with Quinn hitting and pushing her and Sue gets Brittany to accuse Beiste of molesting her. Will and Sue bully Beiste. So many did as bad or worse but at least Rachel apologizes more than the others did yet some how Rachel is the one who is singled out in this episode all the time.
