This is amazing. I have only just 'discovered' this singer and was saddened to learn she passed away so young. Seems she recorded a lot of music to keep us entertained.
You will be pleasantly surprised when you find out that she performed the soundtrack for the film “La Reine Margot ”. The author of this masterpiece is Goran Bregovic.
Amazing - Part 1 and Part 2 of this arrangement with Ofra. She was a Goddess. I will always miss her. Fell in love with her the first moment I heard her voice in 1988.
Well welcome to an incredibly awesome new musical world! She doesn't have many fans left at all, so it's always great to see new people discovering her music. :)
You said it, many people that can't sing are the first to complain. I've been singing since I was 10 in my church and I am the first to admit not worthy of recording. But that only makes me enjoy all singers regardless of music. I enjoy the ease of which Oraf's Yemen voice heritage does her thing with some Led Zep.
Kashmir with an Israeli/Yemenite sound. I first heard Ofra Haza on an album made in the early 1970s for EL-AL airlines called "Songs of Israel". And ive been a fan of hers ever since. G-d rest her soul.
thanks for the info! found separate ways but not open your heart. oh well, maybe soon. saw show me with farscape highlights, that was a treat. great song w/best sci fi show ever. thanks again.
There was a first version, backing the 'Mata Hari' single which was Ofra singing Kashmir as a 'straight' rendition which I have only heard before as demo on a download site. Then the new arrangement version on the unpublished 'Queen in Exile' album. Finally a slightly modified issue of the latter version published on 'Greatest Hits 2' CD3 along with almost all of Queen in Exile tracks. See TH-cam [watch?v=Fu5Cgb6Yy4Y]
haha I'm Brian... in the small circle of Ofra fans that communicate online, there's one other guy in MA besides me... now there's another! haha cool. :)
@red5llaw It's a matter of taste, I suppose. I personally think that this cover is great and does what a cover should: make the song fit the singer. But you can't deny that when in her natural Middle Eastern element her voice was one of the best ever. Listen to "Yerushalayim Shel Zahav", for example, that's true vocal power. You can't find tens of thousands of voices like that.
@THESLOWDISCO You're correct in that she did not do the song with Zeppelin. However, this version of the song is not fake, it's from the "Mata Hari" single. It's simple mis-titled by the uploader as "Led Zeppelin Feat.".
this is heavenly.....besides this and "you've got a friend", did she cover any other classic rock/pop hits? thanks for any help. ps--- i think "time in a bottle" would have been tailor--made for her.
Wow. I read through all your tolerant, friendly, tasteful & generous replies to my comments. My comments were in no way to denigrate a beautiful young woman who has since past from this troubled World. I did not make any comments against the State of Israel which I revere & support. I was unaware that Ofra Haza was an Israeli National Treasure. My comments were ONLY about this clip & because I am a long time Led Zeppelin fan. My opinion, So sue me! Bahaha
@red5llaw You did NOT just call OFRA HAZA an average singer. Go check out her slower songs (even the alternate version of this one), and get your ears checked too.
I'm in Massachusetts too... are you Andrew? lol And I know we exist. I'm not saying I'm the only one. But we're not "plenty" in number by any means. I have 10 CDs of hers, 13 vinyls, and countless mp3s. Am I alone? No. But there aren't many that are huge fans like that either.
She doesn't. She has a lot of people who love her voice and listen to her on TH-cam, but real, hardcore Ofra fans who collect her old LPs and what-not are hard to come by outside of Israel.
Is this based on Ofra's "other" version of Kashmir - 'B-side' of "Mata Hari" ? The "not-other" version being the "Queen In Exile" album version which can be found elsewhere on TH-cam and has a different dynamic.
@rpvee Whatever. Her Voice is one of tens of thousands that sound the same. THIS cover of Kashmir SUCKS. Big Time. Her voice might be okay for HER own songs or songs written for her - But Led Zep...Leave it alone Ofra. People's voices are Instraments, some suit. some don't. This Track DOESN'T suit her Voice. I'm glad you like her but she does a shitty version of Kashmir. Period.
I'm not a fan of this version, but her other one is way better than the Led Zeppelin one. Also don't you dare say her voice is okay, you tone deaf ignoramus person.
Such beautiful woman with a angelic tender mezzo soprano and voice and Yocheved from The Prince of Egypt RIP 🇺🇸🇮🇱🇺🇦
Such a beautiful person with a beautiful voice. So sadly missed. RIP Ms Haza.
I had no idea she recorded this! Beautiful. Rest in peace
This voice is pure transcendence. Wow...
it is, indeed 😍🌷❤️

Same. I first heard Im'nin Alu on a college station when it first came out, and I bought the cassette 2 weeks later. I knew all the words...lol
this never featured Led Zeppelin , it was just Ofra(may she rest in peace) covering the song.
Yocheved from DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt singing a Led Zeppelin song...
...that's frigging awesome!!!
The sweetest voice of all time!
yes
I simply love Ofra Haza (and Robert Plant :) ) Great voices are great voices.
Just discovered this artist today, am hooked. Her voice is amazing.
Well welcome to an incredibly awesome new musical world! She doesn't have many fans left at all, so it's always great to see new people discovering her music. :)
what a beautiful version! Ofra and Led are two of my fav artists, so this is a treasure for me!
Great song by Led Zeppelin and Ofra Haza- Kashmir..
beautiful ofra haza
Бомба!!! Отличное исполнение!

Forever I love you, Ofra.
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I thought the only version of this from Ofra was the really slow, mezmerizing one! This is... WOW!!!!!
Kashmir with an Israeli/Yemenite sound. I first heard Ofra Haza on an album made in the early 1970s for EL-AL airlines called "Songs of Israel". And ive been a fan of hers ever since. G-d rest her soul.
amazing version, beautiful singer.
Грандиозный голос!
Жалко что так рано ушла из жизни....
Excelente versión ❤Admiro mucho a Ofra Haza, era fantástica. En esta versión está sublime
angelic voice
OMG! She is so AMAZING!!!!!! I miss her =/
Oh my gosh, this is awesome!
I did not expect this-In awe!
Wonderful version! #memory Diva.Always memory Ofra Haza
That is no fake. It's a genuine cover. A good one too.
She great, sad to not have Her irl anymore R.I.P. and tanks for bringin' it ;o)
But we do exist. I (Massachusetts) have been listening to Ofra since 1986. Own 2 albums.
thanks for the info! found separate ways but not open your heart. oh well, maybe soon. saw show me with farscape highlights, that was a treat. great song w/best sci fi show ever. thanks again.
It would have been so cool to have her sing with Zeppelin...
Omg this is beautiful
She also did "Open Your Heart" by Madonna, and "Separate Ways" by Gary Moore.
great !!
Ofra Haza Byłaś, Jesteś i Będziesz Wielka !!
God gave her to us, and took her away. When you hear her you believe.

magical!!!
haha I'm Brian... in the small circle of Ofra fans that communicate online, there's one other guy in MA besides me... now there's another! haha cool. :)
super!
Didn't she sing in the sisters of mercy song temple of love ??
ben franklin once said that "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." i guess the same thing could be said about ofra haza.
The version that I heard Ofra do was accapella, so this is intriguing.
Not by much.
First version is on the Mata Hari single if you can find one - try Ebay.- worldwide search.
@red5llaw It's a matter of taste, I suppose. I personally think that this cover is great and does what a cover should: make the song fit the singer. @MrandMrsSodapop Check out her other version, it's even more beautiful!
sweet.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Godess!
@THESLOWDISCO You're correct in that she did not do the song with Zeppelin. However, this version of the song is not fake, it's from the "Mata Hari" single. It's simple mis-titled by the uploader as "Led Zeppelin Feat.".
@EcoleaSchwerinMusik It's not a remix. This is an official version of the song by Ofra. She did two: the really slow, haunting one, and then this one.
this is heavenly.....besides this and "you've got a friend", did she cover any other classic rock/pop hits? thanks for any help. ps--- i think "time in a bottle" would have been tailor--made for her.
Open your heart by Madonna
What would her say about Gaza ? ❤ your voice is beautiful
The shame is, Ofra Haza had a great voice but this just saps all the power and majesty from a great song.

She´s way to good for that band.
I prefer her other version. But her voice is, as always, as lovely as she is.
She's got plenty of fans
She doesn't. She has a lot of people who love her voice and listen to her on TH-cam, but real, hardcore Ofra fans who collect her old LPs and what-not are hard to come by outside of Israel.

@red5llaw ignorance is a blessing, isn't it? "Leave it alone Ofra" - omg...

How is the one on Greatest Hits different from the one from Queen in Exile?
And where can I hear the first version?
How did they get that bass sound??
Nope. I am not Andrew.
Yes, we are few. I only have a couple of tapes. I am not a 'huge' fan, but was severely bummed in 200 when I read the news.
BTW, I pulled said tapes out and played them yesterday. Our newest feline acquisition had never heard them. That cat was entranced!
Which version is the really slow, Middle Eastern-sounding one? And what's the third one?
not heard the charts recently then?
i agree proper covers arnt meant to repace though
L o v e -_-) א ה ב ה
I can think of very few instances where a cover was supposed to replace the original.
Open Your Heart was on here, but looks like it was recently removed due to copyright reasons.
Are you knew to Ofra's music?
I dont live in israel. im a fan and have albums and tapes and cd's of hers
so true... I sing other people's music reinterpret it... what happened to creative commons spirit?
Mata Hari single
Is this led zep backing Ofra ? I don't think so .
Look below. Just Created Special (real honest nice not like above imo) Kaddish ! 12 year now
I prefer her slower, haunting version better.
Ella hablaba inglés, francés, hebreo y persa, hablaba otros idiomas?
Kashmir is in India.
@onablackrat yeah...i would cry too if i was born jewish...
זה קצת פחות דינמי. אבל כנראה לא עם לד זפלין.
thats harsh. I think its good.
lepsza od roberta
no im donnie who are you?/
sory kinda lit yea i huffed again tonite ;(
Are you serious?
Terrific singing by Ofra, but the synthesizer/drum machine track is just awful.
bro yuo aint maykin no scents lol
I don't understand why should we all care so much about your opinion, and also why should we all suffer your cursing and violent behaviour. period.
I usually don't give thumbs down, but this is... simply horrible.
Not cool.........
Come on!!! This cheap knock-off of the song? You can never replace zeppelin!!!
@rpvee Still Sucks.
גרוע
@rpvee Whatever. Her Voice is one of tens of thousands that sound the same.

Sounds the same???? You can't sing shit, then!!!!
