@@christoff124 I’m aware of this fact, but let’s be real: video game DK lore is completely non-sensical. This movie is obviously taking it’s own approach
One thing I love about this movie is that it gives young boys a genuinely positive role model in Mario. He works hard for what he has, he is super caring about his brother and would go to the ends of the earth to save him. He also gets hurt. A lot. He's clearly the underdog from the very beginning. From his confrontation with Spike and Luigi pointing out how Spike is 3 times Mario's size but that doesn't phase him, to having to learn how the Mushroom Kingdom works in an obstacle course while overcoming his hatred of mushrooms so he can keep pushing himself so that Peach would take him on her journey to the Kongs, and it all culminates here in his fight against Donkey Kong. Outmatched from the beginning, can barely land a hit and the ones he does land does next to nothing and takes a beating constantly. Yet he just won't give up. He wins because he keeps trying despite how unfair the odds are against him and that is something that kids can definitely learn from.

My dad and my brother played Super Mario Brothers on the Wii lots of times and I was their teams coach. One of the best highlights from watching my family play Mario was the time they were riding the Yoshi characters throughout the game my brother was Mario for his character and my dad was either Blue Toad, Yellow Toad, or Luigi, then my dads Yoshi character hidden Mario inside his mouth, and of course my brother said to my dad spit me out lots of times and he never listened. In the end of the game we defeated Bowser together and won the championship. However we never got to get through the secret world at the end of the game. Someday I hope to get a team together and play Super Mario Brothers again and make it through the secret world 9

2:09, thats me when I’m at 1 last hit from killing the boss in a videogame
That's a game of cat and mouse

I love the Diddy Kong moment lol
Credit to Donkey Kong he never let up on Mario and only stopped pummeling him to ask his surrender.
I Like This Part 3:54 Were Totally Hilarious!

4:41 Mario(Had enough?) DK (Not even close.)
Mario(I take that as a yes)
3:52 That face 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
4:43 You can hear the theme from the original Donkey Kong game
4:58 Toad is criminally underused in this movie.

Cat box powered Mario: the ultimate demo of the Short sword principle
Short sword principle? (For those who don’t know I’ll explain): When wielding a weapon that doesn’t possess much reach, there’s 0 margin for error You can’t wait for opportunities to come to you. YOU got to make your own.
2:09 Donkey Kongs laugh is hilarious 😂
I admit that I went “awwwwwww” really loudly the moment Mario groomed himself after changing into the cat suit…he really is cute.
2:09 and 3:17 are priceless 😂
2:08-2:16
Donkey Kong: 😆😈
Mario: 😅😰😱
209 iz when I laugh for no reason

Yet another cinematic representation of how a fight between a big cat and a gorilla would end.
Wat other representation was there

Tarzan - Sabor vs Kurjack
Black Panther - T’Chala vs M’Baku
That’s all I can think of
0:17 that look when your parents are embarrassed because of how you’re behaving in public lol.
Enough with the temper tantrum
No no Don't do that 😒🤦🏻♂️
I love how when DK smashes his hands on the floor the record skips kinda like he's scratching the record like a DJ that was a cool detail, and also i love diddy kongs part it makes me laugh everytime
2:24 If were to add the Blue Mushroom logic from the game, Mario is dead.
(I hate the Blue Mushroom in NSMB)
Mini Mushroom
But instead of that, thry used a mini kirby getting hit

When they played the DK rap I started dancing. I was around when dk 64 came out!!
DK 64 was my first game for that system. Got the whole package! The clear green system, the game, expansion pack...the works! Best Christmas present...ever!
Donkey Kong was so hilarious 😂
IKR and so damn cocky too!🤣
This is the closest we got to a super smash Bros movie.
Mario is so cute when he’s a cat! Now how do you feel about....Elephant Mario?
Wish we could have seen more Cat Mario 🥰
2:08 best laugh ever 😂😂😂
3:54 Now you die! LMAO 🤣
Thus, the Meme for that was born!
He was so damn cocky🙄🤣
100/100 cause of how adorable Mario looked as a cat. 🥰🥰
Now that’s an entrance!😎
My favorite part of this scene is when cranky Kong says: that means you diddy Kong 0:35
Diddy Kong: D sorry 0:37
Cranky Kong: Now, since I want this fight to last more than 5 seconds, I put power ups around the arena. You’re Welcome Mario.
Donkey Kong: I Don’t Anything Special To Every Bone In Your Tiny Body.
@@zacharyloizides6453Mario: alright *gets in a fighting position then charges at DK*
Same!!
Dixie Kong: Why do you always gotta embarrass me?🙄😂
3:44 Mario: Aw what I'm a cat??
0:01 the n64 donkey Kong rap starts playing
Super Mario Brothers happens to be one of my longtime favorite video games growing up as a kid. I’m a lot older now and I still like Mario video games today.

1:48 Mario: You’re about to pick on someone, you’re own size!
(Gorillas gasp) (Mario shrinks) yahhhhhhhhhhhh
1:38 It is on like DONKEY KONG!!!
4:31 Fact about Mario: Originally Nintendo wanted to use Popeye as the mascot of his game but the copyright to the character would not expire until 1982. So they had to create Donkey Kong, Jump Man (Mario’s original name) and Princess

Oh yeah this is gonna hurt so badly 🫣😖😣
I live the big reference here to Smash Bros. As a long time player, I truly appreciate.
Hand's down best video game movie
1:38 So Nintendo waited till this movie to actually have DK say that. Really fits, too. Seem to recall Illumination had Balthazar Bratt say it in Despicable Me 3. Side note: never saw the movie. Only know about the instance of the line being used because of the "Dance Fight" clip here on TH-cam.
2:33 made me think DK was Sonic The Hedgehog 💀
