    Those that get mad when given sensible information that is well thought out, planned, researched and implemented will never deviate from their fixed mindsets.
    You have embarked on an odyssey, a journey of the best you can do with technology that is available within your means and skill sets.
    There will be detractors for the colour paint you choose, let alone the technical details of the build.
    You are building a future, love watching it guys. Always, always kudos for what you are doing and how you are doing it. X

    I am 51 years old. Few days ago I thought it's crazy to start designing a permaculture small farm, start building a cob house on it and all other projects like a pergola, a pool...and at the same time training for Stockholm Marathon at the end of may 2025. I run 3 marathons already when I was 36 and 37 years old with the best time in Berlin: 3h:10min. But now I have been hesitating to try a sub 3H marathon in Stockholm.
    When I watched your video, I got motivated and inspired to go for it. I have been following your projects and I like your touches on precision and perfection. I learned a lot from you although I will be building a different type of house due to financial restrictions and a different concept. Thank you very much for sharing your excellent work.

    PIR is the absolute top Choice! The only other hydrophobic insulation use is perlite and foam glass and round my windows I'll add aero gel insulation plus silica boards. Your house will be under the top projects I've ever followed and you two made it deeply into my heart!
    Guess you will do it anyway but I would try to keep the pipe away from touching the steel structure to avoid noise transfers.
    Thank you both so much for sharing, always an absolute pleasure to see your progress.

    I second your thoughts on sustainability a 100 percent. I think this channel is lovely enough to be treated to a little controversy 😂😂😂. Personally, we went the other way and are currently restoring a 140 year old house. The important thing I believe is to go at it with our good old earth in mind. You can only turn so much living into dead matter without significantly hurting her.

    Lol I laughed at your previous comment of burning the ladder when you're done with the house and I'm laughing again. You're doing such a great job of building that house and to tell you the truth, I'd burn that dang ladder too!

    So precise and immaculate. I can do a lot of things but I cannot build a house. Never thought I could do what I have done all my life, but like you I did and am thankful I didn't listen to those that said I could not do those things I did. So happy for you getting this far. You and Eugenia have worked so hard for what you have. Congratulations on all your accomplishments.

    22:20, 22:40 These are such an underappreciated points when it comes to "sustainability" hype. The material might not be "sustainable" (what does that even mean anymore?) but if they perform best for reducing energy consumption then that's more valuable. Moreover, I completely agree with the idea of paying any "negative environmental costs" once if the building is well-design so as not to need further re-fixing later.

  • @estherkalkbrenner5222
    @estherkalkbrenner5222 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    yes, sustainability is posh. but no one talks about the amount of energy needed to produce all that sustainable stuff and where the energy used, comes from. You put a lot of work into that first membrane, to seal the edges with tape and so on. what type of impact do the gazillion of staples have on the membrane, you used to fasten it to the actual roof? does that not compromise the functionality of said membrane? Great work, as always. Thanks for sharing
