Nightlife in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter During Comic Con

- The NEW Gaslamp Pedestrian Promenade opened just in time for San Diego Comic Con 2023. And while it's certainly a popular place to visit during the day, it really comes alive at night. In this video I walk from the San Diego Convention Center down 5th Avenue through the Gaslamp Quarter on the first night of San Diego Comic Con 2023. The Gaslamp Quarter is home to over 100 bars, clubs, and restaurants in the Gaslamp, so there is something for everyone. The Gaslamp Quarter is particularly known for its eclectic mix of bars and clubs. There are traditional dance clubs, live music venues, rooftop bars, and everything in between.

Yeah, sadly the homeless seemed to be around Park Blvd and closer to the I-5 near the Civic Center, at least the last week or so
I saw Brain Altano and Max Scoville from IGN at the 7:40 mark, I had to do a double take.

I used to work at the Convention Center for 15 years. Loved it snd always enjoyed Comicon. Haven’t been down to spend anytime downtown in years. Holy cow! The Gaslamp is dead, compared to how it used to be! No one on 4th?! Glad to see that Bandar is still there. So sad that Horton Plaza is no longer, but it is a sign of the times, unfortunately.
Yeah. You're right. The Gaslamp is dead on an average day now. Horton Plaza being gone doesn't help either

Hey Chris not a politically led question (I am from the UK) but why is there such a homeless problem in California given all the money in the state? I visited LA last year and there were many more homeless than I've encountered in India (despite multiple trips), Vegas has noticeably got worse too but wasn't anywhere near what I've seen in LA. It's super rare to see homeless people here and I don't recall seeing it in NY, Chicago or Florida when I visited, or Hawaii this year.
Hi Mark -- I don't really have a great answer for you... other than the weather in California is probably the best in the US for living outside all the time. Hawaii does have a large homeless problem too
