    The green dress is fantastic on you (and the Calvin too) and your necklace has inspired me to make use of my too-short pearl choker by adding an old gold bracelet. Thanks for that! Very clever!

    I think you made the correct choice of dress to wear to the wedding. It is very unique and the green silk just makes it more elegant. I totally love the second dress but it definitely has a more casual vibe. Using sliders on skinny straps is actually a brilliant idea. I alter so many bridesmaid's dresses that have skinny straps and of course that is one of the areas that need to be altered. I may have to try using sliders on my next alteration.

    Luv the green silk dress..it looks fantastic on you...I definitely think the back of the Harron dress would also look great on this dress for a more everyday look..but the "bow" was a fab choice for a more formal event. Have to agree that the fit of the green flower dress in not nearly as flattering, and I'm thinking the tie at the waist might get a little uncomfortable during warmer weather..

    I absolutely adore that green Smulton dress! I hope I an make one! Your Hallon dress would look a bit more casual styled with a jean or leather jacket and some sneakers. You could also layer it over a turtleneck or cozy it up with a chunky knit cardi.

    Your Smultron dress is stunning! Colour, fabric and pattern are a perfect combo. I have to admit I’ve been hesitant to make anything that’s too scrappy to wear a regular bra with (it’s a droop thing, not a size thing 😆) but I might be tempted this summer 😉

    • @AlexJudgeSews
      @AlexJudgeSews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fabulous choice and something a bit different but perfect in that fabric, I have made the Blomma tank and Plumeria top by Paradise Patterns and found the instructions great and the stlye bang on. The Calvin is lovely on you but can see why you chose the other for the wedding.

    Beautiful dresses Alex. I do like the green floral dress, but the Emerald Green dress you made for the wedding is stunning. Funnily enough I've been looking at that same fabric this week as I'm after a green viscose satin for the sewover50 frocktails event coming up in September. I'm hoping to make the Atlas Wrap dress by Masin Patterns and want to make it in something luxurious. Don't know if I'll manage it in this silky fabric as it has a collar and cuffs, however that's my plan! I'm after a Bottle Green though, but can't seem to find a viscose satin in that colour. Have you seen anything? Its great to see you wearing the emerald green, beautiful colour on you. I did see it was half price, so great value at the moment. Thanks for sharing - really helpful 👌😻

    • @AlexJudgeSews
      @AlexJudgeSews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, the hunt for silk viscose wasn't easy especially as I had specific colours in mind (green or orange) hence ending up at the Lady McElroy website. New Craft House have a good range of silks, but as it's often deadstock it's the luck of the draw. If I spot any I'll give you a shout.

      @@AlexJudgeSews Thanks Alex, I appreciate it. I have a bottle green in mind, but I might just buy the Lady McElroy one as I've got a discount code for 23% off! So bargain indeed. Will check our New Craft House and if you see anything, let me know. Thanks again and have a great weekend x

    Hi Alex, love the silk satin dress and was wondering how it would be using a silk chiffon? I have some beautiful fabric for my daughters wedding in November Queensland Australia so it will be hot. I’m the same sort of body shape as you so am interested in your choices.

    I bet the Rhea dress would look great with a circle skirt instead of the gathered tiers. The Hallon dress needs a statement necklace in my opinion. The high plain neck can be a huge boring expanse of fabric without a focal detail. I love the green satin dress on you but I think the Calvin dress needs a little swing in the skirt, the silhouette is a little too columnar for my taste.
