It's for punching power. When you make that sound or exhale while punching, you crank up more power. Try holding your breath while punching, and you won't genetate much oower. I used to wonder this also until my boxing coach told me this back in 2003. He told me to make that sound while punching. I always noticed a difference.

Inoue looks so much more like a teenager when he gets in the ring than his opponents, very different at the other end of the fight.
Inoue's main strength is his amazing stamina: his punches in later rounds have as much sting as in the early ones.
