    You need to make sure to offset your petals. Basically, you should put the 2nd petal layer so that the center of those are at the point where the smallest petals meet each other. Then the largest petals centered where the 2nd layer's petals meet. This might be important for someone who has never made a rose from any medium, not just leather. This is how they are made from icing roses on cakes to roses made from paper and craft foam roses, etc.

      What type of leather did you use?

    • @randibgood
      @randibgood 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teepeepardievents2877 I'm not sure. I had bought a scrap bag from Hobby Lobby. It wasn't "raw", but it still had some stiffness. Hope this helps!

    私ときはろうそくで炙ってやってました。あぶってるやつもみてみたいですね。あと、リクエストなんですが、革はどうしても男性向けな気がするので、このバラ見たく女の子向けのものもつくってほしい!革はピンクやミントとかの可愛い色もあるのに…

    Is there a pattern download? I can draw it but if there's a download I'd rather that. Gorgeous rose by the way. The best I've seen yet. Thank you.

    Ha! I made a request to Tandy for this a couple of years ago. I guess you guys finally got around to making it.

    I’m guessing you dye the leather afterward? Do the petals retain their shape when you go to dye them?

    • @richardcoverdale1562
      @richardcoverdale1562 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can dye before or after. In my experience dye looks better than paint. I airbrushed mine with Angelus Leather Dye (I used eco flo on the leaves because I didnt have the angelus green). I dyed before, then wet and shaped them. But if you dye without an airbrush the moisture from the dye can also be enough "wet" to shape them.

      You can use paints on leather also.
      It holds up really well.

    Beautiful, what size punch do you use?

    • @randalstone
      @randalstone 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that's super critical here. Big enough to pass the wire through, but not big enough for the bead to pull through.

    Where can I get the pattern template for the leather rose?

    • @stevenmiller1059
      @stevenmiller1059 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No initial pattern... Just use sockets from a tool box and a water glass for the big circles

  • @502deth
    @502deth 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    flesh side? grain side? teh one being made clearly shows the grain side toward the center of the rose, while the finished one shown at the beginning and end appears to have the flesh side turned out on the petals, meaning the flesh side went towards the center of the rose?
