Fun Facts about Megaladon from Shark Week: Scientists say that megaladon could grow at maximum up to 60 feet long and weigh more than a greyhound bus. It’s teeth were up to 7 inches long, had a bite radius of 9 x 11 feet, and it’s bite force was 40,000 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH!
I love this movie. It isn't perfect, there are so many flaws in it if you nitpicked, but who cares. It's a fun popcorn movie. This is literally a great action movie to just sit down, shut your brain off, and eat some popcorn while having a good time. So glad you gave this movie a chance and I hope you keep on the shark theme!
I used to live in MD about 30 minutes south of Annapolis. There was a beach there on the Chesapeake that was covered in sharks teeth. In olden times the eastern shore of MD was covered by the Atlantic. Anyway you could EASILY find 10 teeth a day by just walking down the beach looking. VERY rarely you might find a Megalodon tooth. My oldest son, one day, was lucky enough to find one. It was MASSIVE. He still has it displayed in his house, 25ish years later.
Sharks detect prey by sensing ripples in the water by prey moving around. Maybe the Meg didn’t notice the dog because the dog is really small, and it doesn’t create a lot of ripples by moving around
Jaws, Lake Placid, Deep Blue Sea and Anaconda if you want more "Water Monster" flicks :) Great reaction as always, Kacee :D P.S Will you be reacting to more seasons of Daredevil? Or Punisher?
I watched this when it came out in theaters, absolutely loved it 😂 It’s stupid, it’s outrageous, but it’s such a good time. Can’t wait to see the sequel when it comes out!
Watch Jaws for sure! Summer is coming, and it isn't just scary...it's scary as hell....but it has amazing acting and is just a great all-time movie everyone should watch.
I "hate" when people say a movie is unrealistic. Like you said there should be some suspension of disbelief going into a movie. I mean if I wanted reality I'd sit on a park bench not in a movie theater where I have to pay. (Ok or PAY for a streaming service and sit in my living room.) Real life is free, but movies are fun... or they are supposed to be.
It's definitely another shark in the sequel, and if the ads are accurate there's also a Mososaur-- Cool, but it makes as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. Don't get me wrong though, when it comes to monster flicks screen door logic is my jam. 🙃
The one super obvious homage to Jaws is that Jaws also had a dog named Pippin who also had a close encounter with the killer shark. The slightly less obvious homage is that there is a kid in Jaws who has a conversation with his mother very much like the kid with the popsicle here, and then the kid has a close encounter with the killer shark.
3:09 Dwight's real name is Rainn Wilson. He can also be seen in "Galaxy Quest", Season 2 of "Star Trek: Discovery" as well as a few others I can't think of. :)
Love Love Love this Movie Megalodon Jason Statham and Ruby Rose❤❤❤ Can't wait for 2! Also I Love your shirt my son Loved Land Before Time, man I'm feeling OLD lol
There was a subtle nod toward "Jaws". The little boy asking his mother if he could go in the water, and the little dog. In Jaws, the dog's name was not called Pippit, but rather Pippin,
I saw the trailer for this in the theatre & after it, I turned to my friend and he said 'that looks so shit' and I looked at him like... You're BUGGING, shit looks like a goofy fun shark movie
It took them 20 years to make this movie happen, starting witn New Line Cinema buying the Rights to the novel in 1997. Eli Roth, Jan De Bont, and Guillermo Del Toro were considered for Directing the film between 2002 and 2010, but nothing came of it, until Jon Turtletaub, director of the National Treasure films, was hired in 2016, and the rest is history.
Right? I enjoyed Waterworld as a kid and absolutely loved the attraction at Universal Studios and it wasn't until I was older I was TOLD that it's a bad movie. Really? I didn't know! 😂
I recently found this channel and am astonished at the evolution lol. Just watching the older videos to now your background accumulates more and more fandom >.
0:43 I wouldn't consider this a kaiju movie because kaiju usually references STRANGE oversized creatures, such as godzilla or king kong. But the megalodon was a REAL shark at one time...and perhaps still is...ooooh. LOL :)
That squid is an actual living animal, called Archatoothis. Can get up around 60 to 80 feet in length. Its mortal enemy is the SPERM WHALE! In Ancient times, it's was referred to as the KRACKEN.
Some good underwater movies to watch: "Das Boot" (1981) watch the extended director's cut "The Abyss" (1989) By James Cameron. Watch the extended director's cut; lots of restored plot & story development "Grey Lady Down" (1978) "Godzilla" (1998) by Dean Devlin & Roland Emmerich
Hi I really like your reactions and comments a lot here . For me this is a fun movie to watch.... the Jason Statham scenes especially. The whole cast and script I thought was very well played and worded. If your thinking of watching Jaws now I am not sure how you would like it . I hope you give Jaws a reaction here but as for me I like The Meg a little more.... will not give away the reason why as to not spoil anything. Thank you for this and I look forward to more movie reactions here
I feel like being swallowed by a giant shark just isn't as scary as being torn apart by a smaller shark like Jaws. Hopefully they get more creative with the sequel
In ref to ~27:50, sorry to be "actually" guy, but cannibalism is when members of the same species eat each other (E.g. The big Meg eating the small Meg at ~19:40), so those smaller shark species eating the Meg is NOT cannibalism.
Waterworld is one of those movies that's tons of fun if you can ignore Kevin Costner. I can do it, he's only a second rate pest. :) In any event, the movie isn't that great, fun sure, but not so great. It gets a bit more flak than it deserves. The Meg is a gas, I can't wait for the sequel. It's due out pretty soon.
If it' about shark, most likely I'd enjoy it. And this got 2 megs in it so I definitely "for real" like this one. If I have anything I do not like about this, is that 2 megs died in this movie.
20:50 "You probably just killed its mate and now it's upset." Not likely. Modern sharks don't do that. In fact, in nearly all shark species, males and females tend to stay away from each other except for mating. I guess an extinct shark might behave differently, but the odds are against it - social behavior like mating for life or defending one's family or tribe is a higher step on evolutionary progress, not a lower one.
Yes watch Jaws especially if you have not watched it before. Jaws is old but a classic without the bad CGI and corny, awkward jokes most rip off shark movies have these days.
14:25 "This honestly feels like a terrible idea. A single person swimming up to this giant shark doesn't seem very logical." A single person doing it makes more sense than a married person, right? J/K. Here's why it works. When something is big enough, it doesn't hunt things too small. Tigers don't hunt mice. Eagles don't hunt finches. Etc. Too small, not interesting. Great white sharks will usually just swim right past a human diver or swimmer. Unless that human ijs bleeding ot thrashing around. And this thing is about 4-5 times bigger than great whites. There's almost no chance it even cares about him. That said, most shark attacks are provoked - a human does something to piss off a shark and then it bites them. I mean, in that regard, they're a lot like dogs. Johnathan is about to shoot this one. That might provoke it. But to be fair, it feels a tiny little bee sting in its fin, how would it know that the human way over there did it? So as long as he doesn't make sudden noises or movement, he should be OK. Should. So it's not a terrible idea. Just a bad one.
I've been watching too much Bondi Beach Rescue, the scene with all the people swimming in the water was making me feel irrationally irritated. Speaking of which --- why do so many Asian people go to Bondi beach without knowing any English and play in 10+foot swells?! >_
This movie knew how over the top and ridiculous it is, and they leaned into it, because, why wouldn't you? If they had tried to take a more serious turn (ala Jaws) it probably would have been sci fi channel movie bad lol.

This movie is based on a novel series by Steve Alten. I remember seeing this movie in the theaters and I genuinely enjoyed the film
Also enjoyed the movie. Still would want a movie that is closer to the novel.
It's pretty different from the book but I was happy to get it. The Trench is hopefully better
The perfect popcorn movie can’t wait for the second movie
My advice… don’t go to see it. I saw it yesterday. And honestly, it was terrible
I seen a lot of reviews for it a shame it look like a lot of fun
@@monsterking1973 Yeah. But, there is going to be a third one in the future, so hopefully they don’t botch this one up

awesome movie!
Never seen Jaws!? Gotta see the OG!
