My dad passed away from severe acute pancreatitis:/ he was in icu for 32 days but on the 2nd day his kidneys started failing and they put him under and nothing they did could stop how aggressive it was

Have to remember the hydration requirement if you have an attack. Don't expect your local hospital to be on top of it in the ER. I would be saying them as soon as I entered....hydrate me aggressively...now!!

Good video. I just got home last week after having severe acute pancreatitis. I was in hospital for 5 weeks. Most of my other organs were starting to shut down,. I think the delay in copuous amount of fluid is wheat sent me into severe. I'm still having a lot of pain. My pancreatitis was brought on by an ERCP.

sandra netzach omg. That’s awful. Why did you require an ERCP? A patient I know has acute pancreatitis just diagnosed- severe pain- and the plan is to do an ERCP once there’s improvement.

I don't drink ever, and stopped smoking 20 years ago. Have good weight, bloods, pressure, etc...all good. Except a CT scan found extensive calcification in the pancreas head and neck...plus some elsewhere along the pancreas. BUT I am dodging a bullet still - never had pancreatitis symptoms in my life, or digestion problems. the problem of course - how to stop it in the future.

Quit drinking and smoking weed. Every time I went back to weed, my blood tests would show my pancreas was messed up. I'd quit and it goes back to normal.
