- When the ladies gather to monitor violence against women on TV for a Congressional hearing, a dieting Suzanne becomes increasingly annoyed by everyone's jabbering, and a tasteless joke leads Natty to report Sissy to the FBI.

The political sitcom, Women of the House is a spin-off of Designing Women starring Delta Burke as Suzanne Sugarbaker. Celebrities like Roseanne, Brett Butler, Anita Moreno, Shirley Jones, and Carol Burnett, among others, appear in cameos. Creator/writer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason was also leading Designing Women and Evening Shade, two of CBS Television's most successful comedy series.

Delta Burke is the best as SUZANNE

I prefer Valerie Mahaffey. I know the role was intended for Julie Haggerty, but Valerie was so much better.
It’s really weird how they handled it. Valerie Mahaffey filled in for three or four episodes until Julie Hagerty was available. Then Hagerty took over, and then left after two episodes. Then Mahaffey came back for one, and then the character was gone altogether.
