    Why are there road crossings? This isnt hight speed rail, its just a carefully designed accident scheme

      Using the current Florida East Coast rail route, there is no way to avoid all the road crossings. Unfortunately, that does increase the risk of accidents and lower the train's maximum speed to 80 mph. On the section that goes west to Orlando (that has no road crossings), the Brightline train can travel up to 125 mph.
