If you´re able "to get" Pete Svidler ya don´t asked WHY: he´s legend! nobody says you are not to get some other Indian like the ones ya mentioned...GO, Gukesh! cheers
Peter Svidler is a player and commentator respected by all for good reason. He mentions the last round of Candidates 2013 where he defeated Magnus in the last round, apparently ending the Norwegian's chance to win the tournament as rival Kramnik was still playing and in a good position versus Ivanchuk. But Caissa intervened, Kramnik lost and Carlsen won the right to challenge Anand. The rest is history.
I saw Gukesh and Firouzja during quick post-game interviews with that cute blonde (I am sorry her name escapes me right now, but I found she did a great job at interviewing, as she does here with Svidler). I also walked right pass Caruana at one point, and had a glimpse at a couple of non-playing GMs too.
Pedro Svidler! Loved him since I saw him stunned and smiling like a child after Magnus' queen sac against karjakin ;) I have to say, from the interview, it sounded like she wanted him with potatoes on the side ^^
Ding doesn't want to play chess anymore, so if he declines to defend the title, then second place might actually be worth something like it was last time.
Congrats Svidler... You have done a great job supporting Pragg. Thanks from India
Really? I didn't know that. But why get Svidler? Why not get another Indian? Harikrishna, Sasikiran, Ganguly, Anand, and so on and so forth?

@@inguh7041 No offense (seriously), but because it's Svidler for God's sake.
Really miss the days when I could watch Peter and Jan's commentary on major tournaments. Great team, and funny as hell.
Why is Jan not commenting the candidates? Is he a second from any competitor?
@@ersanovo4308 Nepo
@@ersanovo4308 I understand he's Nepo's second.
They had good chemistry, but I couldn't stand Jan's endless off-topic tangents at times : )
Nice to see Svidler again!
Funny, knowledgeable and with a great heart. Peter is a treasure and a great ambassador for the sport that we all love.

I was at the Candidates in Toronto on the first weekend, and wished I would see Svidler, but no such luck!
who else notable did you see?

@@DiagnocWIM Charlize van Zyl, agreed, a good host!
I love Svidler. Trust him to mention an obscure Stalone film quote 😂
As a kid I thought that movie was so serious & intense. As an adult is so campy and dumb lol. Still have a soft spot for it.
Hmmm .... why was Peter not asked about his role here as Pragg's coach?
was thinking the same
That's because the interviewer is usually quite unprepared all the time; with all due respect.
Probably not a question he could answer. No point in asking? All he can say is 'OK I guess, could be worse, could be better'.
Probably he told them not to ask about that until the event was over...as he may not be able to answer most questions
@@loneranterism Makes sense. I take back my observation vis-a-vis this context and credit her professionalism
He looks like nepo's elder brother
Both are Russian though
@@user-dw4dq1if1m I am talking about looks
Well the title couldnt be more true for Fabi and Nepo afte their tie.
I thought it was impossible to love Svidler any more than I could already and then he drops an Over the Top reference
Can peter commentate please
She looks so cute😢❤
Never seen him this casually dressed. it suits him
he's sounding more british than russian
That's true. He is a big fan of british culture since the boy.
he's also a cricket fan, and has high tea daily.

Dont spread such bull, patzer
it is a huge prize for losing the match, so he wont decline it.
China won’t let him decline. They want that money
Don't be ridiculous. Chess prize money isn't even peanuts to them.@@perryhunter1
@@perryhunter1 china will force him to play for money? Ya I heard China was falling short in their Foreign exchange reserves by 1.2m euros.
Who is the interviewer??
Over the top ♟️💪🏻
Oh my Gosh … Svidlermis great but so nervous… I am not so sure that this what Prag needed the most …
He's jinxing it.
I forgot about his tie for second in 2005.

So what is his capacity here?
He's pragg second.
Hic capacity is 2 microfarads.
