This is the video that gives the in-your-face reality what is happening in Canada. It is very good to emphasize na, if you come in as a student, you should study, not work. And again, the government will always prioritize the locals over the international students.

Sobrang mahal ng housing para sa mga international students at yung mga available services and needs nila nahahatak yung standard of living at cost of living ng mga locals para sumabay lamang sa mga students na can afford na magbayad ng premium.

My brother came here through that route in 2004. He landed a scholarship as a Phd student at Carleton University. That time, hindi pa ganun kahirap ang buhay sa Canada...it was more affordable then. He wasnt allowed to work while on student visa (not like now) other than working within the campus. He worked as a library asst while studying and then research assistant during the summers. He really struggled...ate peanut butter sandwiches mostly, walked, didnt buy a lot of things, lived in a basement. I was already a PR that time, but couldnt help him much as I lived in a diff province, supported our parents and was paying for childcare in my minimum salary. Two years later, he earned his degree, we drove him to the Niagara border and he gained his PR. The university hospital he did his coop from hired him FT, promising him a professorial chair within a few years. He is now in Saskatoon, working in med research, owns a home, car and living a relatively good life.

@@inanutshellvlog so many such stories po, not just my bro. Our Sr. VP in our company for example (actually madami silang VPs na ganun ang kwento), he is of Lebanese descent, came here as an Engineering student at Univ of Toronto from war-torn Lebanon (one of the top engineering schools worldwide, so yes, he’s brilliant). After finishing his degree, he went to Singapore as a business consultant...then landed a VP job here in a big multinational after 5 years and applied for PR after meeting and marrying a Lebanese-Canadian. Madaming kwento din ng successful immig from the student stream..but really, it all boils down to how brilliant you are, what you are bringing to the table, and what your chosen field is. Shempre, if u come and study horticulture as an example, or cartoon illustrating, or social work, medyo mas mahirap maging successful.

Kaya nga pathway eh. student pathway ang stepping stone, atleast dumaan sa legal na way. Win-win solution yan both sa Canada at international students. Plain & simple. Applying for international student means exactly that. Leave when done. Promises were never made - c'mon, were those so called promises, let's just say they were said but were they written & signed? NO. Why complain for jobs, PR, bringing family the shortcut way - there's a proper way for that - some wait for more than 20 years, millions of peso in expense, then arrive with menial jobs till retirement - that's what happened to most long time residents. But a lot of Pinoys the last 2 to 3 decades want shortcut & instant gratification. Remember those schools were built by long time tax payers. Canada is not the same 3 decades ago - that period to present, too many (exponential growth in international students) business owners, ceo jobs etc were too old as in their late teens to 20s when they came - meaning they will bring their good & corrupt/cheating ways along with them.
Those Pinoys who excelled in Canadian unis who never went to hs here are not that smart, believe it or not, due to big time loophole in the Canadian educative system.

Miss Ina, just wanna inform you that there are now Canadian gr 12 HONOUR students, born & raised here, with 90% plus Average who couldn't make it to uni bec someone took their seat. Please check the UP Diliman & De La Salle prof report - all they need is a gr 10 (4th hs, 15-16 yo) passing mark (the corrupt RP 75% really means 50%) then on to uni. Furthermore, the report says "lessen the standard to not shame the ehem" . Meaning they were teaching lower than gr 10 level. Most likely gr 9 level. And those 2 top RP schools placed last or 2nd last in international test. What would be tje result for RP's lesser rank unis? Btw, Canadian provinces placed high, US somewhere in the middle. In 2018, RP has finally adopted the gr 11 (16-17yo) & 12 (17-18yo), then on to uni. Common sense tells me RP is lowering the gr 12 standard again to somewhere near the gr 11 territory to "avoid shaming..."
Who are getting scammed in the academics department really.

Naku, bola lang po yun. Wag makinig. Other then tuition costs, madaming expenses. Food alone is about $100 a week. Transport will also be around that much per month kahit subsidized pa. A shared room in a basement in Toronto is about $800 a month. You will have to pay for phone/internet pa, perhaps share in water and electricity/heating bills, your school supplies, winter clothes and what not. Its a lot of expenses that you wont earn holding min wage jobs in the small # of hrs you are allowed to work. You really need to have enough funds to come here as an intl student. About $2k per month at least outside of your tuition fees.

Halos 90% ng kaklase mo ay puro international student at tanungin mo bakit sila nag-aaral sa Canada is because of PR only.

23:27 as for international students abusing food banks, it’s a certain ethnic group of international students that are shamelessly promoting free food from the food banks that are for Canadians. Canadians know and acknowledge this.
You can tell by their shameless videos. Filipino international students have more decency than that. I don’t believe they are collaborating with this shameless act. The saddest part is, when “they” do these appalling things, “all” international students’ reputation is affected.
