Modge podge
Magazine or catalog
Old wet rag
Paint brushes
Pen
Ruler, chopstick, bamboo skewer or unsharpped round pencil
Scissors or paper cutter optional
Round object to shape bangle or ring
Napkins, scrapbook paper, lace, tissue paper or fabric
Gliding flakes or acrylic metallic paint
Chalk paint

Almost all of the materials I used can be found at walmart. You don't have to go to a craft store. The only thing I didn't buy from walmart was the gilding flakes, I left a link below for you if you are interested, the flakes also come in silver and copper.
I purchased the gilding flakes from Amazon here is the link: www.amazon.com...
I do a lot of newspaper weaving and magazine paper weaving. I would suggest using the liquid elmer's glue for everything. When fluing the paper strips on each other when forming the bracelet or ring, the glue will harden awesome. Then, after you've made a bunch of rings and bracelets, go over the entire piece with the elmer's glue and really be generous on the sides. Let it dry for a day or two because it will take longer for the inside layers to dry. Then, sand your side edges flat on a fine grit sand paper. It works awesome and gives you beautiful smooth edge. You can also sand the inside of the ring if you need to make it a bit larger. Also, when using the liquid glue, you would not have to do so mny wraps of the paper tubes and the bracelet would be lighter. Hope this helps!!
Thanks for that advice. From the side it looked like a roll of masking tape. Elmer's liquid glue- clear or white??
That makes great sense, Jeanette. It’s good to have more than one opinion when creating a new craft.
I’m going to give this craft a go. I’m in my eighties and still learning. This seems more satisfying than making beads because they don’t need to be assembled, as in threading beads
That was my question. I’m betting the clear glue.
Jeanette, I would love to see your art with the weaving! Marian
@@anniewright6358. I love your video and your new craft!
I have a whole bunch of old magazines and I have search for them to make crafts out of them. I’m so glad to learn that from you and I am going to try this. Thank you so much.
My first time seeing torch program. Loved it! You are so talented and very explanatory and knowledgea
I run the flattened tube through my craft pasta roller, it flattens tightly and gives it a gentle curve.
Thank you for this idea and tutorial.
Great idea
What a cool idea. I love this. In addition to jewelry, you could use these techniques to make home decor objects or maybe even wallets or purses. I love to “make” unique papers-not creating the paper itself but making less paper-like materials out of paper by adding paints, glues, etc., to the paper and conditioning it by crumpling it, etc. Then I usually don’t know what to do with it, but I often end up making “wallets” out of it and using it to hold art supplies, especially paper scraps or other flat supplies. Because they are so pretty, I place them out on shelves and they act as decorations in the art room. Very fun!
You make me think of your ideas about the wallet and purses and yeah I definitely make it it's really easy as what I think 😮 thanks for your idea. I usually making bag using a coconut leaves way back in my younger age. I'm from Philippines and I used to play for the coconut leaves from Wallet ring watches sunglasses and bag.
I think the tarnished gold looks great! Wonderful idea using magazines to make bangles and rings!!!
If you reserve a beautiful page for your last going around then it can be magazine only with out the napkin, and continue the rest of the steps. Love your clear explanations. Thank you
great idea, thanks for the upload. one thing to think about is to model the items your making as it gives an idea of what it will look like on, perhaps in the future. again thanks four your time to upload your work.
This is a really helpful video. You explained everything about the project so clearly. I really appreciate this! What a wonderful use for old magazines. Thanks
thank you ...and i like everything you do...you are a very good teacher..thanks again for everything
Use an emery board for shaping fingernails and sand the edges of the paper off. Start at the bottom of the board on the top edge of the bangle and make small short strokes downward. This will leave a flawless edge on your bangle
❤🎉 wow thanks for the tip I'm new to this project
Brilliant! For me your camera was exactly in the right place. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this!! I love your tutorial, your voice is so calming and I appreciate the details you provide! I have never made jewelry before, but I am going to try this out!!
So Beautifully taught! Thanks for sharing . First time i seeva bracelet and ring being done. You are GREAT ! 38:32 38:34
Thank you for such a wonderfully detailed instructional video. You do beautiful work! I'm going to have to try this one out!!
These bracelets are beautiful. I like all of your tutorials.
Wow! I love how you use materials mostly on hand for crafters and you are so clever and talented with designs. Thank you!
I absolutely loved, loved, loved your video, very well explained and beautiful bangles and work, thank you for your work and sharing
Really cute idea for jewelry. Two suggestions. Use a smaller glue stick at the point when you add the new strip. It looked like the large one might not get to the last area glued. Also, hope about wrapping the napkin on the sides also? I think your flowers would have looked really cute there too. Thanks for sharing, I have a tone of magazines I didn't know what to do with.
this is a very unique creative I love it.I live to craft with my little grand daughter she takes after me this is something were going to do together.Thank you for sharing can't wait to see more videos I'm definitely subscribing
I love your tutorials. I will try the bracelets. I think they are so neat. Thank you for sharing!
What a unique idea. They really turned out nice. Thank you for the tutorial

But long time.
Me ha gustado mucho tú idea. Gracias por enseñarme.
you are so creative. love the bangles.
Aleisha, what a beautiful awesome craft project. I can't wait to make mine. I use Polyurethane to harden my paper beads and let me tell you a couple of coats of that and they are as hard as a rock. Thank you for sharing. You are my crafy hero!😉
Thank You, this is a VERY good video. Thank you for your time, and all the great tips and ideas.
I really love the way you teach... so clear and I like your idea... keep going and keep rocking...
Great project! As an experiment, you could try sealing the edges of the bangles with wood putty instead of the glue (wood putty is fairly inexpensive), then you could gently sand it for a smoother edge on the sides of the bangle for a less rustic look :)
Thanks! That's a great idea. I would like to try it. Let me know how it goes if you try it.
beadifulnights bilekligin ilk hali yani goz fotosunun oldugu hali daha orjinal....😇😇😇
Thanks for this video. You're doing an am job. Is done fabric the same way?
Yeah!!!! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Beautiful! I can’t wait to try!

I love everything you make! Thank you for another awesome tutorial! :)
The writing kinda adds to it,it’s not bad at all .i like it
Very helpful video. You certainly put a lot of work into these. Very pretty. Thank you.
Waow ...magnifique !!!! Merci pour les explications 👍👍
I love making my own jewelry and these are beautiful! Thank you for sharing!💕💕💕
Interesting project have to try. Idea instead of trimming napkin from sides fold over side and into center like wrapping a present. That way sides match front just paint inside.
I've made these using the rolls from duct tape... not as thick ...but after adding everythng n then resin over its fine... luv ur vids
I thought about doing that too. Does it work well.
Such a great tutorial.
cant wait does bracelets always looking for new one
Very nice-a lot of work
great bracelets. Thank you for sharing
It’s beautiful
I love them what a awesome ideal I might have to try them
Good lesson. Try using small pieces of colored tissue paper. To make it look a bit different.
thanks for another wonderful project.
Thank You for giving us another WONDERFUL video & lesson! 🌝
I love these bracelets and because of all your trouble shooting you have ironed out all the problems for us. I've made some really nice alcohol ink papers which are waiting for a project so I'm thinking they will make really cool bangles! TFS xx❤️❤️❤️
I love your designs!
Cool idea. But I just had a thought, with the shaping of your bangle on your Mod Podge container. If you put just a bit of plastic wrap on container and do your paper wrap on that, you should be able to make your bangle on the container to keep it's shape better and not have to do that thing with your fist. When done you could slide off container, cut excess plastic wrap off and then seal that part just like you would do otherwise. Sorry so long to explain. What do you think?

I cant wait to try this! I was wondering what some good christmas gifts could be on a budget and I have endless amounts of magazines XD
Thanks for sharing this great video, i was wondering if cardboard could be used, i mean from cereal or cracker boxes?
What a nice project. Thank you for this nice idea. I will try it this Holiday with family. Happy Holidays.😊
Aleisha
Lived the video but I wrapped my edges inside then painted the middle to accentuate the color I also used liquid glue throughout using my fingers to smooth it out. Glue sticks didn't work well for me.. Also for the beads instead of heat gun ( don't have) I used butane torch. Works very well and quickly. Thanks for the inspiration
Hi aleshia I do paper jewelry as well I find I am better at that than with beading well I recently moved and instead of throwing away the empyt packing tape spools I decided to incorporate them into my paper bead crafting but I wanted to thicking them and I couldnt figure out how to do it then I remembered the tutorial you did with the newspaper so I am going to incorporate that into making my bangles if it is ok with you wish me well and send me a link to your facebook group and when I am done I will upload a picture you are one of my inspirations.
Enjoy watching the video, however I'm not sure sizes for the rings?
Please make an updated on rings only?!thanks
Tks for sharing this tutorial with us
thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial!
Merci à vous ! Pour cet édifiant constat consternant les véhicules électriques... Je ne cesse de l'expliquer mais je passe pour une dingue 🙂 cette vidéo me rassure ...je ne dis pas que des conneries 😀
This is GENIUS❤❤❤
I'm really admiring these pieces & your work in general! If I wanted to embellish w rhinestones, do you think I should do so after varnishing is dry or while it's still wet? Thanks very much for your time, & for sharing your talent & creativity!!!
I was wondering if you could use a wooden bangle as a bracelet and then put the magazine rolls on top? Do these bracelets last a long time? Thanks! Love the video!
Instead of trimming the edges on the napkin, Cut the large section Let it dry & take a nail file & hold it on a 45 degree angle & Lightly file it.... Kinda like the jamberry nail wraps to apply them
Loved this idea! Cant wait to try it! Thank you!
Can you make a long strip instead of adding a piece at a time? Thank you! great projedt
You can also get a pearlescent paint in the metallic finish if you like the pearl look. Jodi=-)
Nice idea ❤️
So nice, but it's got a lot of hard work. The results were worth it.❤
Oh, also I've seen some other youtuber's that made bangles with the cardboard core of tape rolls and also with using cheap plastic shower curtain rings. Just a idea for you.
I do that because I have big hands for a girl and find it hard to get bangles that fit, also as a paper crafter I have LOTS of cardboard cores, lol,
noeleen byrne hi, I think it's great too, because it's a money saver also. thanks for commenting, mostly on posts I feel like I'm invisible. great idea you had.
you're welcome, I don't comment much either cause sometimes people don't get what you mean and go all out on a different tangent, I just liked what you said because i do that same thing, lol, x
they look so great thank you so much but how long can these last? could someone sell them and not worry that they will probably fall apart the next day and their client will start complaining? Are they durable?
My fav is the 1 at the end w/the lace
Beautiful!
love your work, this is so cool and different.😊
Thank you for sharing!
Aleshia you can very easily use the gilding flakes on your nails, but I would make sure you use extra care that you get them on in single flakes and don't use white glue(Elmer's or Mod Podge to coat them - it will discolor your final coat of top coat nail polish and they will look blotchy) so in essence it will take patience and time to do it. Long enough to let the clear polish dry, at least one coat, before you do the next nail. Jodi=-)
beautiful!!!!
Am going to try this out
Tell me more about your stunning manicure.
Love your nails!!!
Awesome!
Loved the video, 2 questions could I use scrapbook paper to make them I want to make the rings, second could I use white paint instead of chalkboard paint.
Then do seal them as you would the bangles
I really like these bangles and your tutorial is excellent. Is there a rule about the minimum number of paper strips needed to make a bangle? if I do fewer strips for a thinner one, is it not likely to hold?
Aleisha just love you videos i watch them all. Any way this bracelet is it about 1 1\2 in thick or 2 in ty so much keep them comming
Thank you, it is beautiful, would like to know what varnish you use?
awesome! i love it!!!!!!
this is an awesome idea. i will make this. Is it possible to make a pendent with the layer of papers. If the papers are cut in geometric shapes and stuck together?
Yes, I have actually done that and made stud earrings out of them
you glue several sheets of different colored paper on top of each other then you can file the edges down so that you can see the other colors under neath. There is a tutorial on YT for paper pendants that you can check out also
How thick is the bangle you made in this video? And is it about 1 1/2 inch wide? I thought this was a great video. Glad you showed us a few problems and how to fix them!
Does the white coat have to be chalk paint? Can it be acrylic?
Esto también es muy precioso. Besos Lola

Thank you
I hope you see this question. I have looked many times for your beaded bead tutorial and I cannot find it. Please give me a link to it. 🌸🌸
Thank you so much for this video you did, a great job.
Love these! Can you use the sparkle mod podge as the last coat?
I think if you’d make it thinner, less paper and then wrap paper over the edges to cover the edges it would look less like a roll of duck tape and more like a bracelet.
So cool 💖
These are really nice!!!! After gluing on the napkin, you put the sealer directly on or did you coat w/mod podge before the sealer?
Thank you! After the entire napkin is on and dry, you can coat with Modge podge then the sealer. I just did Varnish over the napkin because it was my 2nd day filming and I was in a rush. You may have noticed that I didn't put modge podge over the napkin as I was laying it down, I did it purposely that way to avoid wrinkles. When it's wet with glue under the napkin and you make it wet on top of the napkin at the same time, it causes the napkin to wrinkle.
Oh, that is so cool.
How many wide papers do you use for each bangle
