Very solid kit sir. I love how you constantly prove this kit was built out of your daily experience, not some internet list of "must have items". Well done.
9 years ago, but still relevant. It is the thought you put into selecting your contents and your precise descriptions. I've watched several times. The basis for my own comprehensive "Beefy" tool kit was many items included in yours, some of which, I wouldn't have thought of had I not watched your video. Great Job.
These kits can be costly, time consuming and tedious to build, but very rewarding and handy at the end. I have repaired toilets, tailgates and trailers with it. I take it on all my major excursions. The kit is basically a compact cache of capabilities. Gear is great!
The best kits are those that you build for yourself. Yes, these kits can be pricy. Tools are costly and some are difficult to acquire. Look for sales and specials. One item at a time. Slowly but surely it will come together into one tight, comprehensive package. Stay the course and build it to your specific needs, budget and timeline. Again, the one you build will be the right one for you. Have a nice day.
The nice thing about these kits is that anyone can build one to their own specifications. There is no right or wrong way of doing it. Moreover, no kit is prefect and no kit will satisfy everyone. It’s really a matter of personal preference, utility and choice. I have two and may build a third specifically for office use only. Thanks.
Wow. Nice job with your kit. I think this is a great hobby, lot's of fun! My suggestions: I know it's hard to take cool stuff out, but you have some unnecessary duplication, right? You might be able to reduce weight and/or make room for some new items if you weed out some duplication. Do your multi tools have unique functions or could you eliminate one or both? Love the Benchmade knife. I've carried one daily for 15 years. I like that you chose locking pliers, the folding hacksaw and the Gerber utility knife, nice. I suggest extra blades and eliminate the other razor cutter and small saw. One short flat file. You could replace the heavy metric sockets with one universal socket. A magnetic screw driver that accepts 1/4" bits, then add every bit possible. Buy an Irwin, cut the handle off and drill a hole for a T-Handle. A piece of leather to protect your palm. A small jewelers hand drill. Most have room in the handle for bits. Some self tapping sheet metal screws. You need a mini butane torch with solder wrapped around the body. JB weld and/or steel stick, a must. Rubber, vinyl, etc repair patches. More/larger zip ties, as large and as many as possible. I also prefer hair bands to rubber bands. For those that don't want to spend this much money, there are adequate, inexpensive alternatives to every tool you have. Lots of great ideas here, thanks.
You rock. Seriously. You've inspired me to make an electronics based EDC. I'm always looking for my DVM and needle nose pliers and soldering iron etc. I'm going to have them all right there. And thanks for the thorough inventory. That is insanely useful.
Some good stuff in that kit, and som good advice. The steelwool and some other gear. Keep up the good work, your videos are a true inspiration and the calm voice and nice narrative of why and for what purpose the gear you keeping. Thanks again for the info.
This pouch is their biggest organizer. It took some work to get everything to fit perfectly into the Beefy. The pouch could also double as a small anchor. The part that you all did not see is me having to put all that stuff back in after the video. I had to replay the video to see how I had everything laid out. Pretty funny:)
Yeow! You sure there wasn't a hole in the table where you just kept pulling things out of there? Thats one heck of a well packed and thought out bag. Awesome stuff!!
Nice video, I like the level of thought put into your kit. I have a beefy as well and keep more everyday stuff, it's nice to see someone else's ideas for a new bag.
You may acquire many of these items online from the following suppliers: Battery Junction, Cabela’s, County Comm, DD Hammocks, Eastern Mountain Sports, Going Gear, Mil-Spec Monkey, REI, Survival Resources, Supply Captain, The Pathfinder Store, True Utility. Some may not be shipped due to regulations. The process can be tedious and expensive, but you can customize the kit to meet your specific needs. The name of the game is to build it to how you like. You have great fishing. Go Patagonia!
one of the things I keep in mine is a welding marker pen, and a glass marking pencil, these thing will write on anything, metal glass wood you name it. I use the things all the time. I've had to replace them 3 of 4 times already. A little expensive anywhere from 5 to 20 dollars but well worth it.
Yes, I am familiar with this little bully. The Boker Gnome is a very nice neck knife. The handle is a bit too stubby for me but nonetheless, it is another great choice for EDC. When it comes to compact fixed blades, there are almost too many choices on the market. Thanks for sharing. Mahalo!
Very nice EDC when I started building mine it fits in a micro pocket organizer by maxpedition, now I have to many tools that only fits in my condor administration pouch that it's twice bigger than the maxpedition beefy organizer
I have seen a miniature blowtorch (propane/refillable) the other day, formed like a pen. It would give you a very hot flame for about 1-2 minutes. After seeing the video I think it might fit well into your tool kit.
This is what happens. I had to bump up from the Fatty to the Beefy and now that’s filled too. My Maxpedition FR1 is also bursting at the seams. It is packed with medical supplies. I will share my FR1 in a future video. Enjoy the weekend.
amazing kit! going to pick some things up soon. suggestion for that small pouch of screws/pins in the end. add i screws. great for makeshift fishing poles, or other things.
Good call. I added 3 small eye screws to the hardware zip bag. This is one of those suggestions that takes up no room and only makes sense. Much appreciated.
hey thanks for the great videos you gave alot of great ideals for mine. One thang you might think about is a little JB Weld I had to fix my radiator and it came in handy also a couple military style glow sticks dropped down in a cigar tube to replace road flares. but again thanks for the great videos
great vid I have to say being from the uk and just starting out with edc I haver never seen most of the kit you have let alone get my hands on it but great stuff keep up the good work all the best iain
Hi dlclownin, since the video I added a mini Bernzomatic butane torch to the kit and two small pieces of solder. I don’t know if I will ever use torch, but it’s just one more repair option. I tried to squeeze a Zippo fuel canister into the kit, but it was too tight. Thanks.
Hi ArmyStinger150, you may find non-residue duct tape at Home Depot or Lowes. The brand that I use is made by 3M. This is mostly what I use now because it is easier to remove. Thanks.
Cool kit. Here in Argentina its very hard to find some of the ítems you carry, many of them would sort a lot of problems for me, but i supose that i could eventyally find them in EBay.
Nice kit. I would eliminate a lot of the duplicated items though. You failed to mention that the Leatherman Squirt also cuts small gauge wire, has a nice knife, a file, bottle opener, an awl, a punch, and two sizes of screw drivers.
Holy cow! You fit quite a bit of stuff in that bag i applaud your organization skills i need to buy my self a bag like that. Do you think that would fit nicely in my new 5.11 moab 6 bag? I dont really want to molle it on the outside. Great video, looks like you covered everything i am glad to see a sewing kit if you rip your clothes you would need to repair them. Not every body has one of these in there bags.
patti smith Hi, You are correct not to want to MOLLE the Fatty onto your MOAB. You will probably would not like it attached to the outside. It is too sloppy and feels like a rock. I think the Fatty would consume the bulk of the main compartment in your MOAB 6. I had the MOAB 10 and found it too small for my needs. It was like a bit fat sausage after I filled it. They are great one strap shoulder bags so long as they are kept light and practical. They are great city bags for the train or moving through tight crowds. The 6 is a very nice EDC companion. Thanks
I liked the kit. I have pretty much the same things you do.....in one form or another. I need to make a video to share with all. What type of camera do you have? Thanks for sharing.
I have been using a Canon Vixia HF camcorder for about two years with no issues. I have the larger battery pack for extended recording times. In my opinion, the original battery pack is insufficient. The camcorder is about 6x3x2 ½ and weighs 20 ounces with the larger battery. I recently purchased a GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition to wear on my body when I’m in the field. I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate it if you shared your set-up. Thanks.
Although you have a hair band, can i suggest a fat style rubber band? they do come in useful, for example if a screw it rounded out, put it on the end of your screw driver and you can get it to turn. it wont take up any space! also maybe a bic lighter? thanks
You might consider replacing the Leatherman PS4 Squirt with the Leatherman ES4 Squirt. That will add wire strippers to your kit. You also might take a look at the line of TEKLON mini pliers. They are only 4.5 inches long and are spring-loaded. And I found a Databank 128 gig Flash drive for my kit that is about the same size are your 16 gig. And a 3/8" wood chisel with the plastic handle removed would give you the addition of a wood chisel the same size as your cold chisel. And a few SAE sockets rounds out the socket pretty well and adds little bulk, but they do add weight to an already heavy kit. Just a thought. You do a great job on your kits. I never understand people who cut corners on quality with these kits, when the whole idea of having one is that your life will depend upon them working the first time. My roadside emergency kit cost me over $1300. My Altoid Survival Kits cost over $300. Money well spend IMO when your life is on the line. Thanks for the great vids. New subscriber
I forgot to add, since this is not an emergency kit, I would put the money and effort into a good portable toolbox and a few good tools for your application.
I am very pleased to see your collection, but for me it's like a knife to the heart. 'cause I can not have a great deal of your nabora.no it's very nice to see.
Good Day Ernesto and welcome, this kit is not for personal EDC. It is too big, bulky and heavy. It is for motorized vehicle carry only. See my write up under part-1 for details. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy.
jeredsyn1964 Yes, once I organize things in a certain way, I can always remember the contents. In this bag, it’s easy because the bulk is exposed. Thanks
You could also include a piece of paper listing the contents of the bag, listing the contents of the left side on one side of the paper and the contents of the right side on the other side. Perhaps have it laminated.
I like most of the components but if it were me I would leave the survival stuff in the survival kit and cut down on the redundancy of so many screw drivers, knives, and wrenches. 4.5 pounds is a lot for a small tool kit.
Hello dude ; thank you for the video ; I loved it soooo much man. But i need (if you can) to do a video regarding the emergency tools ; like welding stuffs...etc Just in case ; I know that it is not recommended a lot but let's see what you have ;)
Hi snowpuppy77, I don’t know what your intended use is but you may want to go with the lighter stuff. I have #12 (106 lbs), #18 (160 lbs) and #36 (340 lbs) and find that number 12 and 18 get used the most. Number 12 is the most pliable, easy to work with and plenty strong for most tasks. You can always transition to 550 Cord for more critical tasks. Thanks.
TheAmericanOutfitter Thank you for the advice. Very decent prices compared to 550 cord. Looks easier to tie than 550. So many great kit ideas in your videos.
Yes, the thinner stuff is easier to tie and very handy around the house too. I tied some small trees with it during the snow storm. FYI - It is a bit stinky when you first get it. Simply take it out of the plastic wrapper and leave it in the shed or garage for a week or two to air out. This will reduce the tar smell. If you just throw it into your bag, it will smell like a freshly tarred telephone pole. Thanks.
Nice kit but I would dump the Alkaline batteries in your Streamlight and the spare in the case and switch the the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries. When Alkaline batteries die they leak.
Hi willrush1962, the battery locker is made out of Delrin, which is a space age polymer. I got it from County Comm. I have a few of them to store AA, AAA and CR123’s batteries. They are lightweight and watertight. Thanks.
First, I'd like to say you did an excellent job on making the two videos. Very professional and well done. It was a pleasure to watch! Apparently you're a gadget guy like me, and have pretty much everything covered in your kit. However, there is one item missing that invariably shows up in every tool or tackle box, and every survival or medical box on the planet. I use them all of the time, and that is a 6" or 8" Straight and Curved Hemostat Set. Just a suggestion, but I feel no tool kit is complete without them. www.amazon.com/HTS-161S2-Straight-Curved-Hemostat/dp/B000W1Y9YU/ref=pd_cp_hi_1
Hi Patrick Ozment, Yes, they do come in handy. I primarily use them for fishing, sewing or to pinch hold something in place. I have a set of 4 inch hemostats inside the kit, but I can remove them and insert a full sized pair. I have at least 4 pairs lying around the house. Much appreciated.
I guess I missed the 4" ones, so I just thought I'd bring it up. Nice kit, I'm working on one for myself also, and will probably use some of your suggestions. Thanks...
You are correct, the full sized ones are a bit better. They give you more leverage. I use the small ones to change out micro SD cards. Thanks again for chiming in, much appreciated.
too many duplicated items . wasted weight . great idea , just needs some tweaking . that's a lot of stuff in that bag , 4.5 lbs though ... heavy . just my 2 cents . not trying to break balls .
why not stick a mora knife in there instead of the folding knife or the expensive fixed blade, its about the same size as the folder and cheap and a good all round utility/wood craft knife.
A Mora will not fit inside this packed kit. The small folder shown in the kit is not too expensive. It is an old knife I had laying around and adequate for basic cutting tasks. Thanks again
Very solid kit sir. I love how you constantly prove this kit was built out of your daily experience, not some internet list of "must have items". Well done.
most complete tool kit i've yet to come across, i saw a number of items that are now on my "need" list, great job!

Seems like a good multi tool would take the place of a lot of that stuff.
You is wrong. Yes, you is.
Excellent! Probably the best kit I've seen. Gave me some good ideas to add to my kit, thanks.
Wow. Nice job with your kit. I think this is a great hobby, lot's of fun! My suggestions: I know it's hard to take cool stuff out, but you have some unnecessary duplication, right? Inspector Gadget would be jealous. That's a seriously packed bag of tools.
Excellent kit. I’m motivated! Thanks!
Thank you so much for showing us your kit. I enjoyed these videos to the point that I realized, my kit is not complete yet!
Very useful video. I'm waiting for season 2😃
You rock. Seriously. You've inspired me to make an electronics based EDC. I'm always looking for my DVM and needle nose pliers and soldering iron etc. I'm going to have them all right there. And thanks for the thorough inventory. That is insanely useful.
Thanks for sharing. I got a lot of ideas from your kit.
Awesome kit. ... BIC lighter, tourniquet tube, removable zip ties, broken screw extractor bits, wd40 pen, rubbing alcohol, bandana.
Just a few suggestions. :-)
Everybody should carry a kit like this! Great Job!
You've inspired me a lot to upgrade my EDC kit. Thank you very much.
A Leatherman Surge with bit kit and bit extender would alleviate quite a few of the tools in this kit. Good kit overall. Thanks for sharing us.
Hi there, almost 7 years has passed and your video still very useful! thanks man. it give me great ideas for my personal edc. regards
Awesome kit. a lot of stuff I need to consider in my own. thanks!
Very nice tool kit. What an amazing amount of stuff you fit in there.
Some good stuff in that kit, and som good advice. The steelwool and some other gear. Keep up the good work, your videos are a true inspiration and the calm voice and nice narrative of why and for what purpose the gear you keeping. Thanks again for the info.
Amazing how much stuff you can fit into a small pouch!

rofl nice! lets see that video lol
Awesome kit ! But I would get rid of some duplicates, you'd be able to cut down on about a pound, just satin'
Yeow! You sure there wasn't a hole in the table where you just kept pulling things out of there? Thats one heck of a well packed and thought out bag. Awesome stuff!!

Excellent info. I appreciate your time on the review.
Great job Bro. Amazing how you could find so many miniture tools and many in pen-like sized!
excellent kit you got all the necessities .
Excellent proposals! Greetings from Germany!
Great kit. Thank you for sharing. You have given me a few things to think about.
I would only suggest adding some zip ties.
one of the things I keep in mine is a welding marker pen, and a glass marking pencil, these thing will write on anything, metal glass wood you name it.
Mahalo!
Great video ,thanks for sharing!
Very well made, and informative video.
Very nice EDC when I started building mine it fits in a micro pocket organizer by maxpedition, now I have to many tools that only fits in my condor administration pouch that it's twice bigger than the maxpedition beefy organizer
very great kit
really very cool nice set up...
Fantastic video mate !
I bet this guy is a blast at parties
Eat your heart out Batman . . .you got nothing on this guy!
Great video, certainly have some quality gear there!
Very classy as well.
amazing kit! going to pick some things up soon. suggestion for that small pouch of screws/pins in the end. add i screws. great for makeshift fishing poles, or other things.
Good call. I added 3 small eye screws to the hardware zip bag. This is one of those suggestions that takes up no room and only makes sense. Much appreciated.
Congrats! One of the best vids i've had ever Seen!
Great kit.
hey thanks for the great videos you gave alot of great ideals for mine.
Thanks.
Damn good kit! Well thought out & handy as hell I bet.
good work, awesome EDC my friend, very complete the both of them tool kits 1 and 2 , maybe includes a mini hammer and mini saw¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Mini vice grips are awesome!
Nice kit thanks for posting .
Hi ArmyStinger150, you may find non-residue duct tape at Home Depot or Lowes. The brand that I use is made by 3M. This is mostly what I use now because it is easier to remove. Thanks.
nice kit

You failed to mention that the Leatherman Squirt also cuts small gauge wire, has a nice knife, a file, bottle opener, an awl, a punch, and two sizes of screw drivers.
good kit
Wery nice kit
Have you thought about adding a Band-Aid or two? Or some king of very small First-Aid kit?
Other than that, GREAT KIT!!!!
best large kit ever
awesome kit but what's up with all the screw driver sets
Very nice!
Holy cow! You fit quite a bit of stuff in that bag i applaud your organization skills i need to buy my self a bag like that. Do you think that would fit nicely in my new 5.11 moab 6 bag? coooooool presentation but good luck with puting it oll in
nice tools
Hi there how are you ? very nice videos . What watch do you wear ? I love it but can't see what it is exactly
I am very pleased to see your collection, but for me it's like a knife to the heart. 'cause I can not have a great deal of your nabora.no it's very nice to see.
Very nice video! But I will say what you consider EDC is not what I consider to be an EDC.
Good Day Ernesto and welcome, this kit is not for personal EDC. It is too big, bulky and heavy. It is for motorized vehicle carry only. See my write up under part-1 for
details. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy.
I couldn't believe how much stuff came out of that thing. I wonder if you know where everything is when you need something specific. Mike

where did you get the small ziplock bags?
Hi CbusHas, I got the zip lock bags from Survival Resources. They have assorted sizes. Thanks.
where did u get the needle holder the little file set and the lottle bit set
Living to tell Hi, Survival Resources carries the items in question. Please see my inventory list in the description section. Thanks
I notice with bank lines there are different numbers like #30 #36 #42. What number do you recommend?
Hi snowpuppy77, I don’t know what your intended use is but you may want to go with the lighter stuff. Nice kit but I would dump the Alkaline batteries in your Streamlight and the spare in the case and switch the the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries. When Alkaline batteries die they leak.
What do you turn the sockets with?
lukeybaby45 I turn them with the Titan Micro Ratchet handle that's in the kit.
Where did you get the aaa battery case?
Hi willrush1962, the battery locker is made out of Delrin, which is a space age polymer. I got it from County Comm. I have a few of them to store AA, AAA and CR123’s batteries. They are lightweight and watertight. Thanks.
love it
i love your kit i subing
You should get a very small first aid kit in it.
I thought about it, but it is not a survival kit and I already have several first aid kits. It is only a supplemental mini tool kit.
primarily use them for fishing, sewing or to pinch hold something in
place. I have a set of 4 inch hemostats inside
the kit, but I can remove them and insert a full sized pair.
Nice Corona striket
Unfortunately in Israel or not, or it is too expensive,
Hammer is missing
too many duplicated items . wasted weight . great idea , just needs some tweaking .
that's a lot of stuff in that bag , 4.5 lbs though ... heavy .
just my 2 cents . not trying to break balls .
why not stick a mora knife in there instead of the folding knife or the expensive fixed blade, its about the same size as the folder and cheap and a good all round utility/wood craft knife.
A Mora will not fit inside this packed kit. The small folder shown in the kit is not too expensive. It is an old knife I had laying around and adequate for basic cutting tasks. Thanks again
Only the best will do!
Cheap means expensive
Give me leatherman surge .. and its enough to suvive ..
$600 though? I love the kit, but that's a little too steep for my taste.
Believe me I know. I was just sharing what I have in my custom kit. This is really for those who are building kits and may be seeking ideas. Thanks.
I know, I appreciate the video. I'm buying the parts to start mine as we speak and I got a lot of great ideas from you. Thanks again
