  • @jeffreyphipps1507
    @jeffreyphipps1507 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pisces has a meaning - represented by two fish that in turn represent two different sides of a personality - a yin/yang sort of situation. Singing in two voices is very appropriate on this song.

    Welcome to Jinjer. That's all her. She uses her false chords for the growls. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well.

  • @lkayh
    @lkayh ปีที่แล้ว +12

    She really is amazing. Admittedly, I’m not at all into metal, so I’ve gone to check more of their music, and it’s not my cup of tea (tho I totally recognize their skill and admire the compositions-love the way they play with time signatures, etc.). But I love her sound in this, and the contrast with the screaming really is mind-blowing, but it fits the whole Pisces thing, which is all about contrasts.
    Great reaction!! If you need a laugh, check out Julia Nilon’s reaction. Plus once she gets over the panic attack, she digs into some of the vocal mechanics, which I appreciated.

    • @lkayh
      @lkayh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lucievreacts She doesn’t get into how to produce that scream, just talks about what to look for in terms of whether it’s being done in a way that doesn’t harm your vocal chords.

    • @j.f.fisher5318
      @j.f.fisher5318 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lucievreacts for info on the mechanics of that technique, I always recommend The Fairy Voice Mother's reaction. It's also fun, especially due to an unfortunately-timed sip of tea, but she's able to do the technique as well as explaining.
      Depending on how well versed you are in vocal anatomy (and how much detail you want) it might help to have front and top views of the larynx showing the (true) vocal folds/cords and false/vestibular cords/folds for reference as she kinda makes pictures with her hands that only really make sense if you know the anatomy and already understand what she's talking about. If you don't care for that much detail though she still gives a great overview.
      Also in her reaction to Electric Callboy's song Hypa Hypa she gives a friend a very actionable tutorial on the basics in the middle of the reaction, if you are interested.

  • @JariJuslin
    @JariJuslin ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The growls are usually created with false vocal folds that sit above true vocal folds. Thus with enough practice and some luck, unlike clean singing, you can go below your speaking voice.
    She's worked super hard to get there as that small person and she can also do a hell of a lot clean singing techniques and genres very well.

  • @TomClark-Futoura

    Lucie -- here's my simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story.

    Reminds me of the absolute WTF moment I had listening to Sofi Marinova singing "Daniova Mama", (a famous Bulgarian folk song) Just the absolute exquisite vocal/breath control left me speechless. I think it was the first time ever singing quite like that.

    Tatiana je velice talentovana a normalne jemne pisne nezpiva, i kdyz je umi. Je jedna z mala mistru techniky false vocal fold - to je to co pouziva pri tom revu. Dokonce v tom dokaze i skoro mluvit. Velmi narocna technika a samozrejme prepinani standardniho beltu a fvf techniky je skutecne nesmirne narocne.
    A v tehle skladbe jde skutecne o duet dvou sveru - jednoho "bozskeho" a druheho "demonickeho" a toho kdo zvitezi v boji

    Step forward and meet a new sunrise
    A coward is shivering inside
    Today I'll be a friend of mine
    Who swallows suffering with smile
    I drew a different reality
    With unconditional loyalty
    Ego hardly can be piqued
    'Cause I'm selfless
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    No promises I ever give
    Don't rely on me and I won't deceive
    The beginning or the end you can't tell
    When I wave my fin and shake my tail
    I grew in different normality
    With unblamable morality
    Hooks and nets are there for me
    But I'm skittish
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    Scale armour blaze
    Virgin innocence
    One being brings life
    Another runs for death
    A Neptune's child shivering inside
    Drowns in the liquid gold
    Cherished his life to the underworld
    Meet me flashing when winter cries
    Pisces swimming through the river
    All their life against the stream
    Searching for a hook to catch on and see their sun beam
    Then suffocate in painful tortures
    On cutting tables of callous men
    Under a knife of handsome butchers
    Emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away
    Emeralds are ripped away
