Great video Clyde. My XR has shipped. I will be modifying my table with your square. Thanks.

Don't do like I did and cut without water(just wanted to cut a test piece) now I've had to drain the water table once to find the silicone that apparently burnt and gave a small water leak...all fixed up now...I was like a kid at Christmas and couldn't wait

I didn’t do that.. I put water in it before I did my plumbing and made a giant mess….

Great video. I don't cut out of big sheets, I'm trying to figure out a way to position my material in the middle of my table for a 10 x 10 inch square piece of plate. I usually use small scrap so I want to be able to stick the corner into the same exact spot anywhere on the table the, not necessarily near the edge.

Hey Clyde, I have a question for you. In this video you showed us SheetCam and Fire Control. You also talked about DXF files. It seems like you added cut paths (Inner, Outer or Centered plus Lead In and Lead Out) in Sheet Cam. I'm guessing you use Sheet Cam to design your part and then import the file to Fire Control to cutout your design. I'm not to familiar with Sheet Cam but do well in Autocad and Flexisign. Both Autocad and Flexisign can export DXF files. My question is, do you think that importing DXF files from either Autocad or Flexisign would work in SheetCam so that the lead in, lead out and cut paths can be added? Thanks Doug

Doug, I actually design in Vectric Vcarve Pro. It’s a CNC design program. Any DXF if you get the layers correct will work. Make sure all vectors are closed if inside or outside. Then save vectors to layers according to how you want to cut them. Inside, outside or on path.

Thanks, Clyde. I've been wondering how to remove sheets, and then later put them back on the table and resume cutting in the unused portions, but yet see the used cut areas, so I don't place new pieces on the wire. I'm ordering my new Crossfire soon.
I'll look into Vectric Vcarve Pro soon. What about that program do you like, and why do you use it?

Vectric VCarve Pro is a very robust software program. It is very intuitive to me and easy to use. The main reason I use it is because I already have it for other CNC work. It has the capability of 3D tool paths for a milling wood on a CNC. If I didn’t have the wood CNC I probably would have gone with another Vectric program like Cut 2d pro. The pro versions of Vectric’s software are very similar to the regular versions except they are limited to 24x24 inches I believe. And I think that is only the tool paths. I make my plasma tool paths in sheetcam so if it was me I would probably just try regular cut2d with sheetcam and you could save about $500

@@clydehunt4405 Thanks. Since the table i'm buying is a Crossfire 25"x33", and I only cut plasma, your 2d recommendation is spot on.

just got my xr together, trying to figure out how you show the material outline on firecontrol. I only show the actual part I am trying to cut

Charlie the g-code you make in sheetcam or fusion doesn’t tell fire control what the material is. Are you seeing the 4x8 outline of the system? If you have your material grounded to the front left corner, when you set your material up in sheetcam you have to know that they will match up in fire control. You can do a dry run if your not 100%

How exactly are these supposed to go? I cut out the 4 version, but besides the end of the table, where else do you put these?
