I am an experienced navy player. While I agree with many things, I highly disagree on how this video doesn‘t point out the importance of frigates. Which unit kills both a cruiser and an attack sub? Naval Patrol Aircraft. How many people build aircraft? Many! Do cruise missiles destroy cruisers? Oh yes! And now imagine which unit protects you against every air or missile threat? Correct, frigates! A navy without frigates is a suicide mission! Every good navy needs frigates, if you want to survive. That‘s my pro tip! Think about it!
There is no favorite lineup at all, if you use 4 cruisers, for example, with one frigate, submarines will defeat you, if you use one destroyer with four cruisers, they will defeat you, aviation and missiles will defeat you, and if you use any combination with fewer than five cruisers, five cruisers can defeat you! Power is not in a certain type of unit, but in knowing what your opponent has, and acting intelligently. Therefore, you must pay a lot of attention to the field of military intelligence, especially if there are professional and active allies, who can distribute intelligence gathering tasks, whether by traditional espionage, or by co-opting an opponent's team member, or by stealth drones
@@duchmo7131thank you for your answer. there is no best lineup. In naval battle it is highly recommended not to mix units, but to keep for example 5 cruisers in a stack and 5 frigates in a stack. Why do you think? Easy, just look at the different speed of your units. Frigates tend to be slow or to have ranged attack of 100 only at max lvl, while cruisers have the max range already tier 2. so mixing 1 frigate not only slows down your 4 cruisers, but the 1 frigate is likely not to hit anyone with his 50 (tier1) or 75 (tier2) attack range. Therefore: Keep your naval units clean and separated, for example: 5 cruisers (or 1 officer + 4 cruisers), 5 frigates. and yes, keep an eye what your enemies are doing, using intelligence is important!
The thing abt carriers is that they can make it easier to transport helis across large oceans due to helis' short range! I just find it more practical to get carriers instead of waiting days to upgrade helis...☝
I have just played a really good game with naval: what you talked about corvettes are different where corvettes are really good late game vessels. For most countries there is a depletion of components and a maxed out corvette only needs 1800 supplies to build making a the choice if you want huge navy numbers. I played Brazil and had 3 ports, 1 for cruisers, 1 for destroyers and corvettes, and 1 for corvettes only. Maxed corvettes also have a attack range of 100, the same with cruisers and out range destroyers(not maxed). It is so good, and is fast and cheap to make. Its basically like the sub tactics Germans used in WWII: the pack, where you form 5 corvette groups and go at your enemies in waves. By the way, maxed out corvette have 30hp both coastal and deep sea.
By the time someone has a cruiser stack I blow it away with 2 destroyer stacks paired together since you know they cost way less than take a lot less research to invest in lmao. I normally have destroyers and frigates maxed out first and they can literally take on anything until late game.
While cruise missiles pose a substational threat to isolated/uncomplete ship squads, they drop significantly in effectiveness against leveled up 5 ship squads. Max level cruise missile will have 15HP, but using a navy officer + some cruisers and destroyers will greatly limit the cruise missiles potential to deal damage. Keep in mind that max. lvl destroyers have 2,3 defence agaist missiles, cruisers have 1passive and 1 active damage as well as navy officer having 3 passive and 3 active damage. The lower the missiles HP when it hits, the less damage it deals. Furthermore, focusing so heavily on cruisers is expensive and leaves you quite vulnerable against submarines, so i would instead suggest going for level 3 cruisers asap for that 100 max range, and than investing more heavily in destroyers as they are more versatile as well as cheaper to build. Last thing to keep in mind is that many players blindly follow the 5 ship squad mentality. While there is nothing wrong with 5 stack ships, it might not be the best option for every ocasion. Bringing 6 ships slows you down a bit, but will allow you to always win in a fight against 5 ship stack, as well as lowers the cruise missile effectivenes dramatically (having a rough mix of destroyers and cruisers in 6 stacks will generally be close to or even kill a cruise missile before it hits.) In ship combat, as in 1v1 stacks, you have to wait with your missiles untill enemy ships are below the missile killing treshold and than fire everything you have. Frigates with their lower damage will hinder your ability to drop the number of enemy ships below this treshold, so better use for them is to have an "escort" stack of some frigates and destroyers; frigates will cover the main stacks and destroyers can be used as cheap substitutions for the main stacks as they are the only one of the "big ships" with front row echelon and therefore take more damage. Basic long term mission for me is always having at least 2 destroyers per stack with some substitutions, so they tank the damage and with this you can afford to have more total number of ships due to lower investment in cruisers as well as lower "turn over" rate of ships that get destroyed and that you need to rebuild.
Bro, you know that one unit of aircraft equals to 12-24 planes right? Like think about it: if you send infantry, you're not sending one man in a truck right? but more like 400-1000 men XD Only exception are ships/subs, which are one ship per unit
I get around this by sending 3 whole carriers. It's logistically crazy, but i find it absolutely will prevent your landing from turning into the opening to Saving Private Ryan
Submarines are the best to destroy other naval units but their worse advantange, besides being vulnerable against naval air units, that you didnt metion is that they cant shot to earth units like literally all other ships do. Being able to destroy the buildings of a port cities is strategically very very important.
bro can you bring a video where you can teach attack strategies like the ruc the fan and attack and run for that and if you can make a video of those or if you can do it all in one great video
should have started with the fact that, like artillery, navies are NERFED TO HELL without the premium monthly subscription. its called automated ranged engagement by fire control settings which you dont have as a normal player. when you are a normal player, your ships will move infinitely without firing until they run directly into an enemy. when you are a subscriber, they will halt and open fire immediately when in range automatically. this means that your 100 range sub or cruiser or frigate will sit and fire on a lower range ship dealing damage without taking a single hit to itself.
I dont have SC, my artillery doesnt run up to the enemy i tell them to attack, if the game didn't let you use your attack range as you imply, artillery would be useless, and if not, just manually move them within range and attack
Both seas work perfectly. But to heal your ships faster, I suggest you build a hospital in a naval port city, and then send your boats over there to heal! They will heal a lot faster!
Island Nations are quite good, for example UK and Japan. If you build a huge navy with those nations then nothing can touch you. USA is quite good too, since it has a amazing component production
And yet I win every naval battle with corvette... Had them destroyed over 30 mix of Destroyer, frigates, corvette, carrier and submarines with just 5. And now I am about to repeat that feat again. This time, with swarm and missiles. That right, they can launch swarm and missiles. As if that ain't enough, 3rd gen corvette suffer no hp penalty in deep sea. Oh... And they have 75 and 100 range. Get them faster and cheaper too. That meant even cruiser is not safe, faster travel time in shallow water also meant they have easier time evading larger warship.
@@boost1382 I do, won't work if you go afk though. As with many other unit, some level of micro is required. Cruise missile ain't that good depending on the stage you are in. Extra option is always nice but nothing beats microing to the point that they never get to fire off a shot.
@@trevordrakenor2063 Hit-and-run with corvette is quite risky in my opinion, an online skilled player will know how to set their ships to attack your corvettes as soon as your corvettes hit them, and you will likely lose a lot of corvettes due to their low HP, while not doing as much damage in return
@@boost1382 it's fine, it has worked so far. Destroyer, frigates and cruiser can't travel fast on shallow water. And most player don't go upgrading their ship fast. So once you have 2nd gen corvette advantages if already in your hand. They will have to come towards shallow water just to bombard city sooner or later. If you think about it, in games like apocalypse and the one that unlocks all research from day 1. Most people currently are far too obsessed with missiles. Wouldn't take even a week before they get wrecked simply because we have 2nd gen stuff while they all hell bent on getting missiles. Plus, as skilled as they are on sea, it's all over if they couldn't stop a unit landing on their turf. There won't be time for mlrs or spg, not like alliance war.
