    Hey great video ;) have a question though. I have the new model that you can adjust the voltage. I know in past videos and on the larger unit you say lower temp is better. So I set it to around 70-80 volts but I get alot of sugar that is slang to the wall of the tub? Do I have it set too low or is this normal for this style of unit to have alot of sugar on the wall?

    • @spunparadise8823

      I would play around with heat and see if you can minimize the sugar waste, but yes, it is pretty common to get a pretty decent size sugar ring in the bowl.

    Hello! I'm just getting started, and I love watching your videos!! I am planning on purchasing a Vivo or Carnival King (so far, I think), and I have a couple questions.
    First, when you change flavors, does the first cone flavor come through to the second cone flavor when you switch?
    Second, if you want a bigger cone, can you just add another scoop of sugar and keep swirling?
    Thanks so much for your response (hopefully), and thanks so much for the videos!

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi there! No, the flavor from the previous cone will not leak through to the next cone. Yes, you can definitely add more sugar and do a second spin on the same cone to make it bigger. Thanks!

    Thank you for your video. I do have a question though. The instruction manual that came with mine said to never take apart the head to clean it. Is your method of cleaning the head by removing it approved by the company or does it void any warranty since you are removing a part. I think I will still try that way though since just trying to clean it with a sponge/cloth is not that affective

    • @spunparadise8823

    Amazing review, thank you! We just got my daughter a vivo and tried it out today. We have a question about cleaning. The part under the head, the bottom part of where the candy is put in..do you clean that and if so how? Maybe we did it wrong, but it had a lot of burnt sugar on it, but didn't look easy to remove. I'll check the instructions more thoroughly, but thought I'd ask.
    We watched quite a few of your videos, including the hard candy one and the sour cotton candy one. We tried both and my daughter who loves sour was so happy and it all worked great. Thanks again and subscribing :) Our experience wouldn't have been so smooth without your videos. Awesome! That's so exciting! And glad all the experiments worked out! Sounds like the machine was cleaned properly, the bottom part you are referring will always have a darker color to it now, it will not be nice and silver again. There shouldn't be any actual chunks though, almost just like a thin layer or residue on it, that's it.

    • @brettc1334
      @brettc1334 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You actually can clean that by removing the screws. The screws may have sugar causing them to stick, so you would heat it up and then remove the screws holding the head with a hot pad. You could then soak the top half in water and clean the bottom half.

    Hi there, we currently have a commercial fairy floss (cotton candy) machine quite a bit larger that pushes the sugar out from the sides. We prefer the “neatness” of how the Vivo spins the floss vertically, however weren’t sure of the quality of this machine since it’s a quarter of the price of our other. We have a corporate event for 1000 guests coming up and we’re wondering how this machine would handle that volume? (It’s going to be running approx 7 hours). Thanks in advance for your help

      Hi there, I have used Vivos for corporate events that large, however, we used 5 of them, switched them during the event. We were also spinning mini puffs, not full size cones. They are not nearly as heavy and reliable as a commercial Gold Medal or similar. I would recommend having your commercial machine on site as back up at the very least. Hope that helps.

    I really like the look of the vivo: it looks simple to use, and I like that you can continually spin for different flavors. But it doesn’t look like a very big cone. I think that I would want a bigger cone. For selling at a local festival, do you think it would be better to go with the machine up?

    • @spunparadise8823
      @spunparadise8823  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, depends on the size of the festival. From the sounds of it, yeah, you may want to go a size up, just remember you won't be able to switch flavors out with each cone going bigger in machine size.

    • @yvonnealvord8947
      @yvonnealvord8947 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The machine needs to be heated at maximum temp for about 5 minutes... At that time period adjust your volt meter to 70% after the preheat. If you keep it too high it will burn the sugar, if it is too low it sends the sugar out of the head to the sides of the bowl. It takes practice and experience to get the heating right but after consistent results you will figure your machine out. After an hour I seem to accumulate sugar at the bowl sides crystalized. To date nothing has stopped that. That volt meter can be slightly adjusted now and again as you are spinning cones to get better results, experiment. All of the sugar on the bowl sides can be used for other baking if you get conservative or at the very least dissolve it in water and pour on your outdoor plants. Yes plants like sugar water!
